There are words in the mandarin language when you say it, people will automatically know what you are referring to and then later you can add on to make it more specific. Example. You have 10 pencils. You can also say you have 10 sticks of pencil. If you say 10 sticks, people know you are referring to something that is wooden and there are 10 of it. But you add the word pencil and then it makes it more clear. Even Chinese people have their own accent and slang and their pronunciation will be difficult to understand. If you just say it like that, people will not be too clear about what you want to say and people will get the wrong ideas and the wrong perception. Good communication will prevent a lot of conflicts.

Bwnasty7 the place is very easy to find my friend! If you search kaifeng city , once you get off the train or old bus station , you will see those street food everywhere!! Especially at night, we call it night market. But Since its a small city , the nearest airport is a bit far , takes 1hrs or so by bus.

I am a han Chinese , but 40 years ago my brother also had the similar wedding and my parents invited at least 1000 people attending my brothers wedding, I remember it took 5 days to treat all of them. our back yard 60 round tables and all the leftover food finally. A lot of fish were through out of the house and the neighborhood took them for their cats.

I love halal food because the food is very clean. In English, people can call Hui ethic group in China as Dungan people because England and Russia officially call Hui people as " Dungan", the pronounciation is " Dong Gan". The expression is accurate and foreigners can understand the Hui ethic group more easily in English.

I love halal food because the food is very clean. In English, people can call Hui ethic group in China as Dungan people because England and Russia officially call Hui people as " Dungan", the pronounciation is " Dong Gan". The expression is accurate and foreigners can understand the Hui ethic group more easily in English.

Is it me or has Trevor's Chinese not improved at all the past 3 years. He seems to be saying the same words over and over again.
no. he definitely is fluent in chinese. it's his hosting that has not improved at all. he keeps on repeating the same words and phrases over and over again for lack of things to say.
he alternates between:
- OooooOoo MmmMmm (moaning)
- amazing, deep, extreme, full-on (like a wannabe surfer bro)
- aromatic
- name of food item, repeat name of said food item ad infinitum
he needs to crack open a thesaurus, work on his conversational skills, and stop exaggerating every action because it is getting old and it shows a lack of finesse.
His tone is pretty awful. His spoken mandarin is basic, hardly speaks in full sentences. I gather he can understand more than he can express himself.

The people from Arabia, Persia (Iran and Iraq) and Central Asia came to China centuries ago to do trading and married the Han (Chinese) people, thus producing the Hui people. The Hui people are muslims.
