HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

EVERYTIME people ask me where I came from, I say from Xinjiang, and I am Uighur, they don't know about my hometown and I have to explain to them somewhere near Pakistan and Russia. Thank you so much man for letting people know more about my culture. When I saw this trending on TH-cam I'm almost tearing up.
what i like about u is that when u talk or judge the food, u stay objective no matter how the " vendor " treats u, a rare quality nowadays, i hate some tv shows when they give good comments and compliments just cz they got food for free
At the start of the video all the vendors were really nice and welcoming . The lamb vendor at the end you could see he was under a lot of pressure by the other customers , but Trevor being the nice guy he is patiently waited that in itself speaks a 1000 words. The food looked amazing and i enjoy watching your reactions to eating the food 😂 food brings a lot of joy .
18:56 - Four eyes pops out of nowhere and asks Trevor for a food tray 19:00 - Trevor looks pissed but keeps calm, gives him tray, and tells him to 'Line Up' 19:00 to 19:26 - Vendor ignores Trevor and continues to serve other locals 19:27 - Guy in green shirt becomes Trevor's saviour, otherwise four-eyes would've been served before Trevor.
How can anyone dislike this guys videos? Most genuine guy i've ever heard of. Nothing but nice to everyone around him, and lets us follow him on his journey. My respects to you sir! Keep the vids coming!

@15Y6C41 LI SHUYAO it is idiots like the vendor who encourage bad behavior. Just give out to the most rudest person who shoves his plate in front. It encourages bad behavior. Just because it is common behaviour it doesn't mean it's good behaviour. All it takes is one or two rude people to be encouraged by vendor then everyone does it. This is how sociteys start rotting. It is not that this guy is feeding the whole country he's just a vendor having a few customers so get off the high horse. He does that to make a living not doing charity.
Not as patient as I am. I have been in his country for over 20 years and justice passes me by every day. A great suffering to live in Canada which is truely a hell on earth.
Oh Yeah! I hope you enjoy the full street food tour video of Turpan, Xinjiang. We found some super delicious and unique street foods! Please let me know what you thought about the video below, I love to hear your thoughts. Mario Plumber You guys have to remember, this is China. There are no such things as queuing for spots. It's survival of the fittest over there. 20 pieces of meat for 15 people. Simple arithmetic tells you there will be 15 people enjoying lamb, and 5 people holding an empty tray. Closed mouths don't get fed in the real world.
Haha that last part was so cute. Trevor was standing there all exciting and giggling, and little by little he was getting more and more worried that he wouldn't get any. I felt so bad for him. "Everyone's so excited", but Trevor was clearly the most excited one haha
Same from where I am. It's not locals get first take, its just that you have to make yourself heard since the shop keeper can never know whos first with all the people lining up. Trevor should have fought...but, if he did he would not have ben able to record much footage :P
Walaikumu assalam. I am not uygur, but tatar, it is ethnically very close nation. When you open that restaurant, please write here the address, i will definitely come to try these delicious foods in shaa Allah. I was just watching and wondering as to where to try all this in Germany. 🙌
You can't be serious man, look at that old Oven-Baba, he didn't really check anybody, he just did his exhausting work in one of the best visited food joints there. And even if he felt uneasy, it was probably camera shyness.
Sue N Most of Starbucks, KFC and McDonalds chains are in Xinjiang's capital city, Urumqi. Fast food restaurant also have hala edition in Xinjiang autonomous region. Xinjiang is the mixture of tradition and modern, eastern style and oriental style.
in Malaysia, we also have faced this problem in pasar malam(night market), people just cut queue because there are no queue, people just circle around , even if you arrived 1st, if you were not "aggressive" enough, you will always be the last one. and because of that, I always avoid those famous hawker because i dont want to be that "aggressive"
Ling Sun Jeen they were not cutting ... if you don't tell people you want the food and you have a camera pointing at people no on knows you are also waiting for the food

Archangel Michael It can be seen from your words that you have never been to China. Just watched your media that specifically smeared China.keep sleeping。
Thanks for shining a light on this unique part of China. Prior to watching your videos, I had no desire to visit China, but safe to say, you've changed my mind.
Wow that lamb leg looked so good! Do you eat all the food you buy? I love your videos Trevor. I get so excited when I hear the notification and see its one of your videos. Looking forward to seeing where you go next.
I am ur new sub.trust me I havenvr seen such a humble guy who learns a new language and speak with locals with a lot of respect. U r absolutely amazing Saw you in mark's video m glad I found you ☺☺
I laughed too, Mike S. Archangel Michael apparently hasn't seen a native interacting with foreigners in these two countries he mentioned. American native (Not an indigenous one) here so I know.
Those around you was like just thinking about the lamb and didn’t want to talk.😋🤪And the owner was not that friendly to you and some people jumped into queue and got the meat first. But you still gave the meat an honest and high rating. You have such a good heart.👍
Hey Trevor , if you don't mind me asking what was the deal with the guy selling the lamb on the bone? You were lined up well before a lot of those customers and I thought he was rude to do that. But you kept respectful and cool good for you brother because I would have left.
David Caruso cause the kid kept talking, in China you gotta let them know what you want, the chef was just having a convo he didn't know if he wanted a plate or not
LOL. as a Canadian, I am proud of your happiness, politeness and exuberance but also as a Canadian...... sigh..... lol I see why the world thinks we are just happy funny people... but you have made me hungry
I notice many times, people ask and he tells them "Canada", and that's the end. Nobody ever has any comment about Canada. I'm wondering a little if they never heard of it and just don't want to say so. I keep thinking someone will say "Oh, good, not like those murderous Americans" or something.
Well Canada isn't really politically strong in any Asia region, less so in a rural part of Western China. People there won't know where is Canada or any intrigue about Canada.
@@Userdoesnotexit Well, I'm not hating it, it's something that I keep noticing is all. I keep thinking someone will be positive about it. Of course it has been a decade or so since I heard American travelers were trying to pass for Canadians or something, so as not to get a bunch of grief FOR being American. This was during the Bush administration, it might be worse now. This is to say, maybe people don't believe him and are just letting it drop.
@@leonardpearlman4017 For many chinese especially in these regions which are not well developed, locals have a poor level of education. Even if u are talking with them "Canada and U.S.A", they dont really care these topics and where u come from. All they care is their business to live. That's pretty normal in China.
your journey is comparable to modern Marco Polo with food, haha. most western folks think of China as a homogeneous and very discriminatory point of view but your videos just blow that out of the water. also, a reminder to folks in the western world, don't let the media dictate your point of view of a country and that Politics and People are two separate entities.
I dont agree with your last sentence. Politics and its citizens are NOT two seperate entities. Chinese government represents the collective will of chinese ppl. China hardly takes reponsibility of the distorted china's image which is made by the west lol
FAN ZHEN "Chinese government represents the collective will of the Chinese people". That is the most ridiculous sentence I've heard in a long time. Can you please explain to me how the Chinese government "represents" the people? Do you think everyday people in China can vote?
I remember watching this 3years ago and being so happy and excited ..i was like cant wsit to visit this place.. and i cant stop watchin this these past weeks moping and so sad for xixiang and its community😪😪😪my heart goes out
saulfreedman yeah i know right? its kinda sad how no one is lining up and its my first time seeing something like that happen on video. felt so bad for trevor
America Airline should thank you. I just booked the ticket back home after watching your video lol. I am from Beijing and Chinese Muslim food is always the best and healthiest in my view.
people are so hungry that they're ignoring Trevor questions LOL this is hilarious to watch. thanks for doing these videos btw! it makes me want to improve my mandarin rather than just be happy at the beginners stage. also, i'd love to see you explore Portugal one day xxxx
Daniel CZ actually Persians settled in China during ancient Silk Road days. Arabs too. So there's a mixture. You need to read up on the ancient history of the Silk Road.
Tekhelet75 You are absolutely correct. That came clear as on script on the signs you see the letter P, whicn is distinctly persian and absent from Arabic
As a Chinese, I am so sorry for the queue jumping and the ignoring of the rule follower. At a moment, I even felt the urge of reminding the shop keeper of treating the gentleman first. Shame on the queue jumpers. And the shop keeper is not polite ignoring him. Anyway, I felt relieved when he is overwhelmed by the food.
Thank you so much for these videos! I never knew you could get so much halal food in China, I really want to go and eat mountains of lamb 😭 can't wait for you next video!
Felt like the butcher was ignoring Trevor intentionally. And that kind of attitude would've destroyed the mood and food for me, no matter how delicious it may be 😭😭 You're amazing Trevor 👍
There was no excuse for serving Trevor the lamb last. He was purposely being discriminated against, plain and simple, and the guy who spoke up for him knew it.
Omegapede Prime Most?Like what?In China there's also lots of vegetable dishes and unless you go to an underdeveloped place, they won't use cheap oil. Well not cheap as in its average there but obviously incomparable to any American oil, that's for sure
You guys just not consider of the diversity of China and Chinese people, eastern China and western China have huge difference in terms of culture, living style, foods, economy, believes. u guys just keep saying Chinese balabala...
lol...太好了Tai Hao Le! I have spent my whole life learning how to compete with other Chinese in every aspect, including fighting to get the lamb. it is so hard! lol

So nice, long live china ,with all healthy and prosperity,i love CHINA, WE LOVE YOU .
That is wonderful! I am from the northwest part of China and really glad to see you make this video. Oh, now I miss all my hometown street food 😊
The vendor didn't seem to want to serve you until the guy on the side spoke for you. That roasted lamb looked so good! Yum.
Wow that lamb leg looked so good! Do you eat all the food you buy? I love your videos Trevor. I get so excited when I hear the notification and see its one of your videos. Looking forward to seeing where you go next.
God Bless China. I love your culture. Those hard working men with a special skills makes me wow... I LOVE YOU CHINA
From: Philippines
:D
Says the Chinoy lol
Don't bullshit, okay? When did you see religion not allowed? What purpose do you have to tell rumors like this?

"A" special "skillS"????? C'mon... pfff
I am ur new sub.trust me I havenvr seen such a humble guy who learns a new language and speak with locals with a lot of respect. U r absolutely amazing
Saw you in mark's video m glad I found you ☺☺
I always end up paying more attention to the awkward people in the background than the food or Trevor.
JaloJet same haha
Hhahah Archangel, that was a hilarious comment xD
I laughed too, Mike S. Archangel Michael apparently hasn't seen a native interacting with foreigners in these two countries he mentioned. American native (Not an indigenous one) here so I know.
Your divisive comments didn't work out well dude.
I thought Trevor is not getting any meat....😂🙈😝
Those around you was like just thinking about the lamb and didn’t want to talk.😋🤪And the owner was not that friendly to you and some people jumped into queue and got the meat first. But you still gave the meat an honest and high rating. You have such a good heart.👍
BANGLADESH CAFFEE AND SNACKS AREA th-cam.com/video/9IJrioOSMxw/w-d-xo.html
Hey Trevor , if you don't mind me asking what was the deal with the guy selling the lamb on the bone?
You were lined up well before a lot of those customers and I thought he was rude to do that.
But you kept respectful and cool good for you brother because I would have left.
David Caruso cause the kid kept talking, in China you gotta let them know what you want, the chef was just having a convo he didn't know if he wanted a plate or not
But he did have his plate in his hand. I think the wife should of done this scene. They wouldn't of treated her like that.
napochulo the people asking for legs didn't get legs so I'm assuming he had to finish the ribs first.
Say hello to your gran mammy for me😂
It's kind of push and shove there. Theres no line. people just sneak their way into getting things first. :/
5:22
all that food for $ 3.34 ???
salim ali much cheaper than the food in shanghai
This is what happens when wages are low.
maxst2 their money is just worth less than usd
+Armstrong Chan not just much cheaper,is much much much cheaper than shanghai,你只是说much,别人还以为中国现在很cheap(不是便宜,而是另外那个贬义的意思)
LOL. as a Canadian, I am proud of your happiness, politeness and exuberance but also as a Canadian...... sigh..... lol I see why the world thinks we are just happy funny people... but you have made me hungry
@@leonardpearlman4017 you cant blame them for what the western has been doing all these years
@@Userdoesnotexit Well, I'm not hating it, it's something that I keep noticing is all.
9:40 the guy on the back reaction is literally my reaction while watching this

Patrick Vu should hv been released *Tai* *hao* *le* merch
Don't forget "hen piao liang"
Patrick Vu LMFAOO
Tai means AF already lol haha
your journey is comparable to modern Marco Polo with food, haha. most western folks think of China as a homogeneous and very discriminatory point of view but your videos just blow that out of the water. also, a reminder to folks in the western world,
don't let the media dictate your point of view of a country and that Politics and People are two separate entities.
Choi Lu well said! I agree👍🏻😄
Betty Bear hey beauty
I dont agree with your last sentence. Politics and its citizens are NOT two seperate entities. Chinese government represents the collective will of chinese ppl. China hardly takes reponsibility of the distorted china's image which is made by the west lol
Just because the western media misunderstood chinese government doesnt mean we are wrong and you hv to cut off the relation with our government
FAN ZHEN "Chinese government represents the collective will of the Chinese people". That is the most ridiculous sentence I've heard in a long time. Can you please explain to me how the Chinese government "represents" the people? Do you think everyday people in China can vote?
I remember watching this 3years ago and being so happy and excited ..i was like cant wsit to visit this place.. and i cant stop watchin this these past weeks moping and so sad for xixiang and its community😪😪😪my heart goes out
I shouldn't watch this in the midnight
I am so happy you are uploading so many videos, its almost like living vicariously through you. 👌🏽
anyone else see the guy who ignored him at 17:50! xD
saulfreedman yeah i know right? its kinda sad how no one is lining up and its my first time seeing something like that happen on video. felt so bad for trevor
He didn't want to tell Trevor because he wants the best piece for himself! lol
That is notoriously known in China, many do not queue up, cuts in and you have to fight to get yourself noticed to be served.
Both the fat fucks seemed rude to Trevor
I wanted to punch that guy so bad, he did only asked him about his favourite piece
Muslims Chinese are the most friendly people in china
not muslims chinese they are Turkic Uyghurs
In India we have a similar veggie rice called 'Pulav' which looks very similar to the pilaf shown in this video..
Thanks a lot for the comment buddy
It's originally Persian, spread to India/South Asia and Central Asia, hence the similarity.
It is the same thing. I actually don't know what's the difference between rice pilaf and biryani.
Similar religion belief brings similar food.
America Airline should thank you. I just booked the ticket back home after watching your video lol. I am from Beijing and Chinese Muslim food is always the best and healthiest in my view.
Hello trevor I love your videos brother . I hope you never off the camera cuz' you are amazing
people are so hungry that they're ignoring Trevor questions LOL this is hilarious to watch. thanks for doing these videos btw! it makes me want to improve my mandarin rather than just be happy at the beginners stage. also, i'd love to see you explore Portugal one day xxxx
so cool to see this. never knew Arabs had influenced this part of china soo much
Isalm the religion is, but it initiated from Arabs, and the spread of the religion spread their culture, by association
Daniel CZ actually Persians settled in China during ancient Silk Road days. Arabs too. So there's a mixture. You need to read up on the ancient history of the Silk Road.
Tekhelet75 You are absolutely correct. That came clear as on script on the signs you see the letter P, whicn is distinctly persian and absent from Arabic
these are turks, not arabs or persians.
Not really. They are not Turks at all. Uygurs are more like mixed...
trevor you are the modern day marco pollo
Polo....pollo is chicken lol
well marco polo was a trader but trevor is a food adventurer
Xiavier Woo Woo it's a pun
greetings from INDIA
As a Chinese, I am so sorry for the queue jumping and the ignoring of the rule follower. At a moment, I even felt the urge of reminding the shop keeper of treating the gentleman first. Shame on the queue jumpers. And the shop keeper is not polite ignoring him. Anyway, I felt relieved when he is overwhelmed by the food.
JINGYONG LI - that guy was an arsehole!
Wow can't believe I watched the whole thing. Really enjoyed you're enthusiasm, and respect for other's cultures. Cheers m8
I'm going to Xinjiang this september with my aunt and uncle, so excited XD
YanHuang Game go hulja
YanHuang Game i
Huljia is the best city in Xinjiang with most delicious food
how your journey? good?
I only heard You and Mark use the phrase "PRE-LUNCH SNACK"
The last seller being so rude big respect to Trevor for being calm.
omg i might eat 10 times a day when i go there
Huskope Shroud hahaha you will be fat
I wana eat Chinese people 10 times a day.
Thank you so much for these videos! I never knew you could get so much halal food in China, I really want to go and eat mountains of lamb 😭 can't wait for you next video!
There are halal food everywhere. You won't get starving in China. The most popular one is the beef noodle.
I had no idea! Thanks!
Wow that guy at the end with the lamb was a real jerk . Why do people have to be that way ? Anyway love the videos guy keep up the fantastic work .
When God created Earth he just wanted to add a pinch of assholes, but then the lid came off & all hell broke lose!
Felt like the butcher was ignoring Trevor intentionally. And that kind of attitude would've destroyed the mood and food for me, no matter how delicious it may be 😭😭 You're amazing Trevor 👍

When do you update the video in China, like Sina, B zhan, and Youku? I just go over the wall to see your video.
B zhan 笑死我了,人家叫BLIBLI

Alex Chow 可能你网络不好,换个翻墙软件
They seemed so friendly allahouma barek. May Allah protect them and give them ease
Shut up! Uighurs are safe unlike bbc, cnn, kan 11 nonsense
There was no excuse for serving Trevor the lamb last. He was purposely being discriminated against, plain and simple, and the guy who spoke up for him knew it.
Regular costumers are important.
I could watch people making noodles all day. It still amazes me how they are made by hand and so quick.
Trevor got troll by the lamb butcher.
He wasn't trolled. He has just encountered a muslim boor.
Chinese hospitality
OMG!it's my hometown!xingjiang!yes, definitely xinjiang has a lot of delicious foods!hope you enjoy your time in xinjiang

Nadia Rosaline @ I too
Nadia Rosaline they eat healthier than Americans and they do a lot more labor
Omegapede Prime Most?Like what?In China there's also lots of vegetable dishes and unless you go to an underdeveloped place, they won't use cheap oil. Well not cheap as in its average there but obviously incomparable to any American oil, that's for sure
You guys just not consider of the diversity of China and Chinese people, eastern China and western China have huge difference in terms of culture, living style, foods, economy, believes. u guys just keep saying Chinese balabala...
I think they are walking a lot. That's why they stay so slim. In America, most people go to their work with their car.
This had been the most awkward video I've seen from you lol , the waiting. But great video
1:20 guys are correcting the accent of each other LOL
WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE!!!!
LAZR Gordon Ramsay hid it.
Fake account?
So awesome. I loved this video. The people were so friendly and as interesting as the food you were eating. Great video Trevor!

Trevor & Ting. The leg of lamb & all the other goodies looked delicious. I'm jealous. Thanks for bringing us along on another mouthwatering Food Tour.
It's odd that, that is China it's like a whole new place
China has 56 ethnic groups, they are all very diverse.
18:50 That moment when trevor realizes he is not the center of the world...
lol...太好了Tai Hao Le!
I have spent my whole life learning how to compete with other Chinese in every aspect, including fighting to get the lamb. it is so hard! lol

One of the customers actually let him go first when he didn’t have to so...
