Adulthood can be scary. Leaving home is a major transition for the whole family. Beautifully portrayed. The quote at the beginning tells a lot. Thank you for this.
I really like this movie. I've watched it three or four times now and find new stuff with each viewing. I like the mystery to it, it's like I'm viewing a far future culture with its own rules and issues and it's up to me, like an anthropologist, to interpret what I can. Tbh, I'd like more of that kinda thing in my sf.
"Sociocyberneering" . . . a term worth remembering. Fantastically beautiful CGI, technically superb execution, especially liked the space elevator concept model. The story is a bit limited, seems like there was much more going on than what could be presented in this little snapshot of a larger idea. Very interesting character portrayals . . . the part that seemed discernible was having to leave behind a partner about to give birth.
The tech is there. The issue is who's going to finance the megastructure. I remember when the cientific community asked the USA to build the supercollider. The space elevator will be built, eventually.
@@Irving_teran wonder if Elon Musk sat down with his engineers and they ran feasibility+ cost numbers for reusable rockets (decades old tech) vs. an all new space elevator with yet to be discovered methods of how to mass produce those carbon nanotubes, etc. While the space elevator might be cheaper in the long run, the rocket tech was a much closer step and less .... Radical to sell during his rounds of fund raising
I like the aesthetic of it. I like the idea. It makes me want to know more about it. I'll agree, though, that it feels more like a trailer than a complete short story. In the 4 minutes, you don't really get to know anything about the characters or the world. Nothing meaningful, I guess. Having some kind of understanding of the reason that the character was willing to leave would have been a good start. Beautifully done but left wanting to know more.
It would be useful to have context to the story to enable viewers to identify with the character(s). Even a billboard announcement up front would help. It's your story, not mine.
You have misused the word 'ingenious'. Apart from that, my comments were addressed to the publisher, not you. If you want to offer advice to the publisher then do so. If you want to patronise other people don’t be surprised at the responses you get. I have no more time to waste on you Mr Fuckwit Osiris.
Nice to know even far into this future, babies are still carried to term and not grown in labs or battery-like chambers portrayed in the movie Matrix 😃
Sooo...in the future, or at some point, a species is able to choose to go through or on a black hole/string/hydrogen collider? Hm. Did anyone else come to that conclusion or something like it? 🤓🧐
what the? I would be lying if I said I understood even a little bit of the story here. wth!? I mean c'mon, the video itself is well done but as far as any kind of story to be understood? nope, not a bit and I bet no one else got it either
The description says "Lovers face unexpected separation." One lover is pregnant. The other works for a corp / organization that requires her to go into space to do a job. Something unexpected means she got called up for that job and has to leave before the birth. It's a trailer for a longer film which needs funding to get made.
Visiting earth to breed there own kind, then gets called back to the mother ship once mission is completed 😶 Its a case of aliens protecting there own and building/creating more colonies.👽

ARGH MORE MORE MORE!!!! So much story in such a small amount of time. i want to know all about this world, these characters, and the mission!

TeleTubies In Space!!!!!!
I was trying to figure out why the characters were so familiar! You got it!
Texas Exile
Just one gender, though...female.
Very nice tidbit of exceptional graphics. Hope to see a story created for it.

.That was beautiful in many ways
Very impressive , it also draws from a a book by Arthur C Clark of a elevator from earth into orbit written I think in the 50's.
And has been studied and feasibility has been looked at using carbon fiber. It's closer than we think.
Yeah I remember that. The space elevator is theoretically possible.
The tech is there. The issue is who's going to finance the megastructure.
I remember when the cientific community asked the USA to build the supercollider.
The space elevator will be built, eventually.

I didn't get it? What was it about? It seems incomplete.
A life departs. A life is born!
Outstanding. Such fun little creative vinniettes......

No doom and gloom. Good one DUST.
Chill, she's just going to work by train. Nothing to cry about.
Just a 22 month shift. Overtime.
🔵 Why would a conveyance (@2:14) that rides on rails require wings?......
In space, no less! Mainly, because it looks cool. XD
beautifully done.
OK, Arthur C. Clarke style "space elevator". That's all.
Agreed. Especially on "that's all".
Optimistic future, for a change 🙂👍🏻
Love the Dust
I don’t understand.
stunning.
Beautiful. Are those two women ? Amazing world tis is .
I think it's a teenage girl saying goodbye to her mother and send off for 22 months.
I think that if they were mother and daughter the pregnancy would be pointless. So, I guess that's a gender ideology utopic world.
more please
Truly amazing, thank you
Wwow amazing
why is the future always do dark and metallic? you'd think they would have invented bright yellow metal centuries earlier.
Wonderful, I thought about Greg Egan
amazing
PLOT?
wings on a space ship ^_^
trying to fill in the gaps, no clue what's goin on. lol.
Jossi Wales ; Just a departure, not more. With a space lift. Just a scene of the future.
Is this a tella tubby?

That's a fantastic way to think about it!

sweet
Wow, Beautiful, good memory, birth/death/birth....from one plain of connection to another......sweet dream (:
Nice to know even far into this future, babies are still carried to term and not grown in labs or battery-like chambers portrayed in the movie Matrix 😃
tight
Marvellous pictures but… what's the point?
Only 36k of views?
Teletubi...omg!!!
Context : Childbirth. Correct ?
Could be a Trailer for a new Series :-)
Kind of confusing. What is the plot?
Chick's gotta go! Other chick's pregnant. Space elevator. Sadness.
Where's the Beef.....oops .... I mean Where's the story? (lol)
Huh?
👍

まあ、私はそれを取得しない...よくやった...
Someone saw Blade Runner!
If they wanted to put in Japanese, should have had someone who can speak it do the translations.
is this a mother and her daughter?
Well, I hope not. With kissing, holding hands, and having a baby they are more likely a couple.
what the? I would be lying if I said I understood even a little bit of the story here. wth!? I mean c'mon, the video itself is well done but as far as any kind of story to be understood? nope, not a bit and I bet no one else got it either

interesting visuals but not much of a story.
Hey that’s not fair for lesbian kiss touch!😡
Maybe they should have made it ten or even twenty minutes long.
There was no story here.
Is cry'n allowed on Space Elevator.... Why She always cry'n. Still good cinematography though
I like the look but could make no sense of this.
What????
I’m New at watching Dust, and I have to admit that this short made NO sense to me. What is the story? ...
Too vague for me, whatever the answer.
Sometimes shorts will give you a glimpse into a world. Filmmakers use shorts as a proof-of-concept for a longer film that is more complete.
Visiting earth to breed there own kind, then gets called back to the mother ship once mission is completed 😶
Its a case of aliens protecting there own and building/creating more colonies.👽
To many effects and to less story...
too woke for my taste
4 minutes of my life wasted on senseless fancy gfx
?
Wow I can see this being a total sjw filmed!!
