- Buka Suka Dimka was a Colonel in the Nigerian Army. He had a bright future in the Army and in the country. He had the benefit of the best possible professional training at home and abroad. But in 1975 Dimka did the unexpected; he masterminded the assassination of Gen. Murtala Mohammed, the military Head of State of Nigeria at the time. Dimka was arrested and tried in a military court marshal. He confessed to the crime and was found guilty and executed by firing squad. This brought an abrupt end to the life and time of Buka Suka Dimka.

And is best for you to follow him. He was executed by firing squad to the joy of Nigerians. Still since then Igbo doesn't produce president of Nigeria, therefore he died for nothing, mission failed. We also promised that there will be no Igbo presidency forever. We will even start to think of producing Yoruba governors and senators for all southeast states to further marginalized Igbo and make them 3rd class citizens!

Dimka was a sacrificial lamb to appease the gods. He was not the initiator of the plan, he was only called in because of his popularity among the officers and he was not the leader of the coup.
We called it Dimka's coup because he voluntary to killed Mutala himself after M. Isa rejected the assignment.

It wasn't Dimka that killed Murtala. The guy who killed him was 2nd Lieutenant William Seri but on the orders of Dimka. I am fully aware of the story as I was old enough then.

But if history was told about Nigeria civil war in schools and Ibo man will never arrest or implicate Dimka for killing this drooling head of state Murtala Mohammed who planned the assassination of Aguiyi Ironsi with his puppet TY Danjuma. Murtala Mohammed ordered his troops to kill more than 1000 innocent men and women at Asaba who were just returning from church. Miriam Babangida's father was among the victims of Asaba massacre. This put fears on the people of Asaba men and women of that era which gave Ibrahim Babangida the opportunity to rape and force Miriam Okogwu from Asaba to an unprepared marriage against her will. She later became first lady Miriam Babangida. Yakubu Gowon was actually the one that masterminded the coup that kill Murtala Mohammed using Dimka as his errand boys while he was in exile in London. Muritala Mohammed deserves death anyway he is a blood thirstier vampire. RIP B.S Dimka.
