NRG Seats may be Better than We Thought! (NRG Prisma Ultra)

- Today I install a red NRG Prisma Ultra Series seat in my 1993 Turbo LS VTEC Civic. The Civic has seriously needed a seat upgrade for some time now, but why did I choose the NRG Prisma? Well, I found a pretty good deal on it, I love the styling, and I honestly just wanted to see if these seats are actually as terrible as everyone says. Turns out, this might be NRG's first great seat in a while. The microfiber cover is comfortable and durable. The seat frame is very rigid which is extremely nice. And the phone and wallet pockets are a great addition to the seat's functionality.

@@SIMRIG412 Sometimes, you just need a quick redneck way to set gain, even if it's not proper. I know there's better ways around it but I needed to slap a system together and it worked. 🤷♂️

I have one... had to re-fiberglass one of the threaded inserts before it was even installed because NRG fixes them in place with nothing but resin, which is ridiculous. Can't understand why they wouldn't use a bit of fiberglass cloth for it.
Little pockets in front are useless for my phone. Maybe it's because I like a bit of lean back/knee support. Back of my knees hit the phone when using the clutch, Can't even get the full range of motion.
The NRG sliders barely fit the NRG sidemounts or the Planted seat base. Had to take a drill/die grinder to the base and sliders to put everything where I needed it.
So I guess if you don't mind any of that stuff, go ahead and get one. Wish I'd gone with something else at this point. It is fairly comfortable, but I think I'm going to have to add some lumbar support under the cushion.
Interesting a seat would affect how your clutch feels! Now do a master cylinder brace if you haven't and feel the powah.

Was debating these or the red Corbeaus I went with for me EG. But nice to see these are a good choice too if you're on a budget

I just got the NRG ultra slice pepperoni pizza seats...waiting on the brackets to install. I like them so far, I just barely fit in them.

Whats up, John... I found you via Gingium. I have just started watching your videos with the Civic. You know what you should do? You should try to get ThatDudeinBlue to review your car. He has a number of Honda Civics that he has reviewed, and I think people check his stuff out. He has loads of subscribers anyway. That ought to get you to the 100k.
Question.... how is your Civic with handling? You should take it for a spin where Gingium went with his girl and ended up racing thru the hills against this friend of his with the S2000. Its really beautiful scenery (I would watch that again) and it would be fun to see you putting the Civic through all the corners, etc. Think about it! Hey, maybe the three of you could go racing thru the hills this time (the S2000 driver, Gingium and yourself). I know I'd watch it! By the way, I am into both the S2000 and the Civic videos! Keep up the good work. 👍👍
By the way, here is an idea for the future... you should eventually convert the Civic to rear wheel drive! (Or get another Civic for it, like Gingium did with the Miatas...) The guys over at Throtl were working on that, but its been shelved for some time now. Pity, cos that was pretty interesting!

I've been pondering purchasing a Purple Prisma Seat for my EG. I'm 6'2 275lbs I wonder how well the Large seat would fit me.

I feel like the algorithm does reward videos with intros and outros, and if you start filming B rolls, with high Deff footage I think it will definitely help.

You probably get this question a lot but, how tall are you? I was thinking about getting different brackets with height adjustment, but if you got a long ass torso like me, you might have just helped my decision.

Unfortunately the motor blew on that car and I have only had about 8 hours of set time since installing that seat.

@@boosted_john thats the shell that started it all, plus itd probably be a lot less work to repair than swap all into a new shell. That one can most likely be saved...
