Too many people been sleeping too long While the world is wakin' up The alarm is sounding oh, all around Wake up, wake up It's ringing out a warning 'Cause the line is forming Getting plain to see You know you got to listen We can't pretend it isn't Talking to you and me Too many people been talking too long Now the streets are filling up If you hear screaming Lord, your not dreaming Wake up, wake up It's ringing out a warning 'Cause the line is forming Getting plain to see You know we got to listen We can't pretend it isn't Talking to you and me When the bell rings It's ringing out a warning When the bell rings 'Cause the line is forming Getting plain to see When the bell rings You know you got to listen When the bell rings We can't pretend it isn't Talking to you and me When the bell rings
@Blackboilingrobotoil Sign of the times...they had a Steely Dan vibe going for a lot of this early stuff. Paul needed some time to grow but Gene was a pretty advanced songwriter even then...to my untrained ear.
Gene didn't write this. Austin Roberts wrote it with Chris Welch. The song was intended for Virginia Beach local Gary Church, formerly of the Brothers Kennedy, who cut it as Newport News about a year before this. Incidentally, the flip of the NN single was "We Never Said Forever", which Roberts/Welch had written for the Osmonds' second album. I have no clue if Gene is aware of any of this.
This album of WL is awersome, it is a kind of magic key to the summit of 70´s sound
Paul and gene are the closest u can Get to alchemists. Everything they touch becomes gold… This is some groovy shit!!!
I like this band great crunchy guitar.

Too many people been sleeping too long

Wake up, wake up

'Cause the line is forming
Getting plain to see
You know you got to listen

Too many people been talking too long
Now the streets are filling up
If you hear screaming
Lord, your not dreaming
Wake up, wake up
It's ringing out a warning
'Cause the line is forming
Getting plain to see
You know we got to listen
We can't pretend it isn't
Talking to you and me

Wow, before they developed into KISS they were pretty straight pop. Even Bowie and Bolan sounded more dangerous than this.
I absolutely love it!!!
Has a t rexy vibe
Sort of like an American version of Sweet.
This would have been a great kiss song if it was heavy.
FUCK... I'm in love with this ❤️💦
@clubninjarock actually this song is a cover so gene didnt wrote it and in my opinion paul got a very good voice better than gene's
This not being released is a Crime
