This is insanely helpful! Wow you and Lee likes bikes are legit. A lot of these other videos are super underwhelming, making it seem easy. Seeing bad form is as helpful as seeing the correct form. Thanks ❤

I’m loving the content! Keep it coming. It’s been raining so much, I’ve had a hard time putting it into practice, but I can’t wait to use these tips!

Eploding off the rear wheel is a great tip/technique. I often see people struggling with dead sailors or their body and bike going different directions perhopping the lip off the front wheel.

I'd bet my next paycheck that Bobo was thinking, "Stand Up To the Jump".

Nice analysis. At my age I’m happy to not case the jump.

Same here. I don't expect to be great at a new skill right away. Even with knowledge of the proper technique, I still require lots of practice with many mistakes along the way.

love your channel but i have to say that actually this is becoming more and more frustrating. it seems to me that there is so much contradicting info on different channels. for expample older video of rich drew how to drop where he had to an update of it a clarify. or sam pilgrim in hist how to jump video who is actually saying speed is the key and dont do strange bunny hops on takeoff just unweight.. and that sounds to me like the direct opposite to what you say in this video at 6:20. or i remember a video of lee mccormack and his easiest way to bunny hop video where it seems j-hop is kind of useless und rocking back is just an "unnecessary complication". recently i bought a bike for pumptracks. at the moment i saw your video about pumping vs jumping i got like... oh shit, you sound like its uselles because its something different. i didnt understand why i cant praktice both things on a pumptrack. the first thing is pumping/unweighting on the rising transition and the second one is jumping when im pushing into the rising transition. i think the more time i spend with watching tutorials the more confused i get. or maybe i just have to spend more time on your channel and listen more carefully.

Totally with you. I took a course with some coaches who were actively discouraging any bunny hop aspects and just focusing on the two wheel lift. It was essentially standing up to the lip with some pre-load. We all made decent progress in that session and it felt good. But these videos also make a lot of sense and the J-Hop form definitely presents itself with a seemingly more effective jump, but with a lot more technique. Think at the end of the day, there's more than one way to jump and people need to find something they're comfortable with, progress it, and then start troubleshooting to improve if they hit a wall.
Also, watching tall people throw their weight around the bikes so easily makes me wonder if shorter folks are just at a mechanical disadvantage when it comes doing doing these jumps on long wheelbase modern mtbs.

@@sonofjenova7 I’d say those coaches wanted fast results. When you take a class to learn to jump. It’s never gonna happen in one day but the 2 wheel lift is a fast way to get there. I’m not here for fast results. My coaching techniques are backed by a decade of professional racing where I received professional coaching. My coaching methods may not be fast but they are proven. As well I can prove the 2 wheel technique unsafe in about 2 minutes. The j hop form other than being more time consuming to learn has no disadvantages and is far from unsafe. But again I love the comments guys. Thanks for the input

@@Theshredacademy yea no disagreement your jumps are the proper way to do it. Think it's just the fatigue of such content out there making people feel burnt out and misguided. Been digging your videos for sure.

@@sonofjenova7 I agree. However, the reason for the fatigue is that we've all watched so many videos that didn't work for us. That's why we are here, watching a new channel in hope that something might click. For me at least, Dusty's instruction makes a lot of sense and in my short time of applying it, it has worked a charm. I will say that when first tried Dusty's ways I had to consciously focus on what he says and block out everything else I've heard.
