I feel like I'm in the good old days of America! I love America when Elvis Presley was alive. From Japan

It reminds me on that movie The French Connection in 1971.

Wow!!! This Mark lll is spectacular!!! It has it all, the factory sunroof, the autronic eye, it doesn't get any better than this!!! 70 is my favorite year for the Mark as it has hidden windshield wipers & column mounted ignition switch!!! Thanks for sharing this gem!!! 👍👍🙂

Absolutely a high-quality ride back in the time I got the drive both of them one had a 429 engine and the other had the 460 the 429 seem like it had a lot more get-up-and-go but they both were high-quality fun and very very comfortable cars to ride in and drive I get my hands on another one up I found one in perfect condition

Beautiful MK III and worth much, much more.
My '69 MK III was Lime Green with a Flaxen Calvary Twill vinyl top and Nugget Gold leather interior. Same Turnpike seating.
Spotted the ad on a Sunday morning in the SF Chronicle. Only 57k original miles and $600.00 cash in 1996. I could've belive my eyes when I saw it. Everything worked including the antenna. The only change was an in dash Pioneer AM/FM CD single disc player that sounded magnificent. Even had its original owners manual and theyd bought a shop manual too.
European band mates bought if off the original owner when they landed in SF to break into the music business. Unfortunately their dream didn't materialize, money was low they all wanted to leave ASAP.
It was my second Ford hidden headlight lesson. The first was a '68 Nugget Gold Cougar XR7. Solved that w/a replacement headlight switch. Not so lucky with that MK so I went to Home Depot. Bought two long gadets that I braced between the front of the radiator support and the back of the lids to keep them closed while the motor was off during the day. The slow leak gave me 45 min/1 hour. Drove it to Russian River and Sacramento. Elegant, powerful and plush. Miss those days...

Like Tim Taylor said in Home Improvement we had a "beam droppage" insurance clause.

Not a huge fan of the color, but it is very period. All in all, even with the minor issues, if it drives as good as it looks, IMOP this is a good retail price for a low mile sunroof Mark. Write Adam about the headlight issue :) Someone will be very happy with it. Back when I was a kid someone in the next neighborhood had one parked at the back of a driveway - always left unlocked for some reason. I (very respectfully) used to ride my bike over, sit in it and just marvel. Yeah, I know, I was a strange 11 year old.

@joeseeking3572 Speaking of color, instead of that Olive Stardust Metallic (order code=09 or O9, depending on sources; each Stardust color was $131.20 extra per car) and Black vinyl roof (order code=1), I would've chosen Bronze Stardust (order code=89), Ivory pinstripe (order code=5) and Dark Brown vinyl roof (order code=7). If I'd had to compromise and forego just 1 option, it would've been the sunroof ($459.10 extra when new), which I could take or leave (one less thing, maintenance wise)! Otherwise, had I been around to order this car new (soon to be 41), I would've ordered it the same, including that Light Gold leather upholstery (order code=2Y), a $164.00 option on the Mark III.

My father had a 69 , the roof isn't vinyl , I believe it was called Everflex which was far more durable than the vinyl which came later in the 70s.. and lasted many years .

Stunning! Love those wheels on the ‘70 and ‘71 Mark III.
Just curious, what did you mean 229 came with this engine and transmission combo, didn’t they all come with the same 460 engine and transmission, respectfully?

Interior was trimmed with real wood! So beautiful. The Mark IV with its fake wood everywhere seemed like such a let down.

@MBSprinter About the Mark III, keep in mind that the 1969 model (production started early for it; I was believe it was around February of 1968 and was introduced to the general public on April 5, 1968, therefore making it an early '69 model) DIDN'T use the real wood trim; for '69 only, you had the choice of East Indian Rosewood or English Oak, depending upon trim color selection and of which both were simulated. The 1970 model year was when genuine walnut veneer replaced both of the aforementioned and a rectangular shaped insert was added, which also included that same walnut veneer and continued that way for the 1971 model year (the last season of the Mark III generation). I admit, the walnut veneer of the '70 and '71 interiors is part of why I prefer them to the '69 (and I, by no means, hate it) and the former are my favorite years (that is, '70 and '71), in that order.

I think seat materials back then were better because if you look at a 40,000 mile car from the 80’s till now they don’t look that good.

‘These’ are what made me feel so ..disconnected from both society & reality while growing up.. It wasn't difficult to realize our finite resources were being gobbled up by those swayed by commercial ‘status’ and a total disregard for the future of everything… So, I’m gonna pass.. Still makes me sick
