A Look Back on Nintendo's Mobile Games

  • Before the launch of the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo had to do something to captivate players after the Wii U's failure. They decided to create mobile games (mostly) based on their own IPs! Starting with Miitomo, a successor to Tomodachi Life, then Super Mario Run, an autorunner based on the New Super Mario Bros series!
Some titles are still played today, like Fire Emblem Heroes and Mario Kart Tour, some ended support, like Miitomo, Dragalia Lost and Dr. Mario World. And others, like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, faded into obscurity, possibly as a result of new titles coming to consoles.
What did you think of these games? Did you have a favourite, or did you not like any? I'd love to know your thoughts, and I hope you enjoy the video!

I never really got far in miitomo, so it is a shame they never did anything past that.

Gotta love backloading and using the fan servers to play the game.

Fire Emblem Heroes holds a special place in my heart. It was the game that got me into Fire Emblem, and while I'm not a super fan, it definitely helped me decide to buy Awakening and Fates before the 3DS E Shop went down, along with buying 3 Houses for the Switch.

2:42 I would say Super Mario Run is one of very few things on the appstore that fully qualifies as a game. Unlike Supercell products or every copy paste idle game (ad revenue generators), this is a real game.
    Other real games include:
    Downwell
    Limbo
    Inside
    Oddmar
    ~Dadish
Super Cat Tales (and its sequels)
Crossy Road (and its franchise or similar games)
    Little Inferno
    Games by Halfbrick
okay I'm done, there are more, but they get swamped
