If you feel that is how it works, this is the exact reason we have a good relationship with Russia because when Europe and US supported Pakistan during the 1971 war, only Russia stood with India even in UN vetoeing in favour of India.
So yes, we do repay back the good faith and remember the betrayal from before.

China audaciously claims an entire Indian state (Arunachal Pradesh) to be Chinese territory. There are issue on other border points as well. You are correct bro. But I want to highlight the lady that when India says collective Europe in geopolitical terms most of the time it targets Western Europe especially Germany, Netherlands, French , Belgium like countries not Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe from Hungary to Lithuania even to Georgia we have a very bright relationship (UK is considered the Anglo-Saxon although they are in Europe but we consider them as a US state😂 just like Australia, Newzealand, Canada but we don't say them openly). Coming to Vaccines the west really hoarded the Vaccines and threw them in dustbin but didn't give it to global South countries so we had to increase our capacity and provide for 100+ countries which costed us billions of dollars. Europe and west initially didn't approve our vaccines despite them being best in the world but latter when we tried to sanction their Rich businessmen then they approved. We are in G10 and have 2nd highest number of US FDA licence for Pharmaceutical manufacturing. In global influence war sorry to say Eastern Europe is not important for both India and China which is good otherwise your politics would have been more dirty.

India first responsibility is to take care of its 1.4 Billion population where poverty is major issue. Is west/Europe so naive to understand this where household income is many folds more than Indian household? Why the priority of 1.4 Billion people comes second to west interest? They have looted India for centuries and left us with nothing. We don't need any freebies from west but we need to take care of our own people first to by making commodities available at affordable price. This is the least we can do for our people.

  • @hrishi2216
    @hrishi2216 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +62

You had an interesting set of points there. However I don't agree with all of those.
    1. You said about the diversity of Europe. Good point, but thats actually not the point being discussed. India has fought 5 major wars and many other minor conflicts in the last 75 years. We got collectively ignored by the countries of Europe and the west. Thats why Minister used the word 'collectively'.
    2. America has taken lead in trying to push back Russia and is putting so much pressure on India to stop buying Russian oil. The same America was supplying weapons to our enemies during the course of most of the wars we fought. And Russia was supplying us with defensive weapons. In fact we were gonna be attacked by the 7th fleet of America during The 1971 war with Pakistan. At that time it was Russia which deployed its Fleet in the Arabian sea to stop the American fleet. If that attack was successful God knows what would have happened. So we can't blindly trust America.
    3. 9/11 terrorist attack got so much coverage in Europe and the west. But only a handful people know about 26/11 terror attack on India. So again everyone ignored us collectively.
    4. About the conflict with China what minister said was right world actually doesn't work that way. If every country pursuing India to move away from Russia is actually ready to help us against China then thats a jackpot for us. But in truth no western country currently has the capacity to take on China.
    5. I know that Europe has seen world war. But back then India wasn't living in happy times either. We were under colonial rule for more than 100 years which included both the world wars. And now since the war has returned to Europe after so many years, there is so much noise and expectations of global support. No one even took a notice of conflicts happening in other parts of the world. Thats what Minister was saying.
    6. About the entrepreneurial and political point of views that you mentioned. We don't mind if our actions send signals that we are supporting Russia because Russia has stood with us when the world was against us and thats why we can never view them as a villain. And from the entrepreneurial perspective, we are the 5th largest economy and emerging as the 3rd we have our own aspirations. To keep growing we require energy. Many countries who sanctioned Russia have moved towards the middle east for their oil supply which has increased the oil prices. Middle east is the major supplier of oil for us so it has put pressure on our economy. To ease that pressure we moved towards Russia and this action is not immoral in our eyes because of all the reasons I have mentioned.
If you have taken the time to go through all my points I really appreciate your patience🙏.
Also I can't blame you for your perspective because the western media doesn't cover other parts of the world.
    Have a great day😁

( We have approx 3000 KM border with China) However we entered into bilateral agreement as to what is the LAC ( Line of Actual Control) and also that we will not use firearms against the soldiers who are eyeball-to-eyeball along the border. Then on 16-June - 2020 the Chinese army, with no provocation killed 20 Indian soldiers with clubs, sticks, iron rods. (Yes. they did NOT use firearms). We gave our soldiers full military honours and publicly conducted the last rites. While China was ashamed to admit how many soldiers died. That is because Indian soldiers also killed more than 100 Chinese soldiers ( Indian soldiers account) with their bare hands. ( No firearms)

Some of the crisis in Asia the west overlooked: Tibetan invasion of China, Bangladesh massacre by Pakistan, 4 Indo-Pakistan wars, Indo-Chinese war in 1962, Taliban take over Afghanistan.
The west never took part or chose sides simply reported what was happening and gave their opinion. Although in the case of Taliban they did a little, by sanctioning them, but others no steps were taken.
So India/most of Asia is doing the same in Russia-Ukraine war.

I would never go describing myself as European. I'd say I'm from Slovakia and if they probed more - I'd say central Europe. I don't believe there is such a thing as European identity. Everyone identifies with their country and we live on the same continent. Not sure I'm making sense. @@zuzanareacts You're right when you're describing your identity, I am sure you would identify with your nation and not a continent, but at the same time the policies of the European countries are rarely sovereign, they are influenced by all but some certain world power because you have treaties in place with those countries. Thus to outsiders, your foreign policy is only different when it comes to bilateral trade, otherwise EU dictates the other policies in major forums.
Also interestingly, people in Europe on an average really dont have any idea about things that are happening in Asia or Middle East etc, the same can be said for the masses in USA but it's not identical here, a big portion of youth here is into geo-politics, history and talks and discussion happen over the platforms for the same. It's interesting because the popularity of Dr. Jai Shankar is a clear indication of our nations collective awareness of geo-politics, it mainly represents the youth.

This is of course because it chose to join an economic alliance... But India doesn't think in terms of alliances it thinks in terms of long term economic benefits and interests... At the end of the day a country will make judgements based on what it perceives as beneficial not to further a political agenda... Zuzana, you seem to be a rational person, and it's not your fault that you don't know about the Indo-China conflict. This is what Dr. Jai Shankar is mentioning that most Europeans don't know about the various conflicts happening in Asian countries. The reason is very simple. Since such conflicts are not affecting the Western world and its people, therefore people don't know/take an interest in the things happening in Asian countries. Let me give a glimpse of the INDO-CHINA Conflict. In 1962 China stealthily inflicted a full-fledged war against India and illegally captured a sizable part of India and included it in its territory. The west remained silent. In 1967 again China tried to inflict wounds on India but the West remained silent. In 2020 despite, the whole world facing the COVID pandemic, China again encroached into our border areas in GALWAN Heights. For the last 3 years, despite facing the aftermath of COVID, our 1,00,000 Army personnel with arms and ammunition are face to face with CHINA, to contain them from grabbing our land in the high peak mountain ranges. Even now, the West is silent and we are fighting our own battle and we are confident in handling the nefarious designs of China at our own level. PAKISTAN has waged 4 wars against India in the last 75 years and they lost all 4 wars. Now they keep sending terrorists to India to destabilize our country. Pakistan Army, after losing all wars now following the strategy of bleeding India by thousand cuts. West has chosen to be silent on the issue of Pakistan spreading terrorism and indulging in a constant war with India. I hope to a certain extent, you would have understood the background of Dr. Jai Shankar's statement.

I don't believe that he meant there are no cultural differences, or political views in different countries in Europe. He was merely saying the European nation's foreign policies tend to be inline to the top 4-5 countries in Europe. I don't want to name them. Everyone knows what those countries are. He was not hinting that these countries will not have cultural differences, different languages and even that internal politics are same. It's not and neither was he hinting that.
The other thing you said was that, one has to pick sides or have a strong identity with certain groups that have formed. The biggest problem with that is, India is not in the same boat as let's say Europe. If the Indian economy collapses, no European country will come to it's aid. But on the other hand, let's say a European country like the 2009 crisis, many countries were saved because they were part of Europe. So it's very straightforward for you guys. That is why you feel there are only two or three sides. But for India, it is not like that. America has been funding, aiding Pakistan since long, while Russia and India have a long standing military relationship. So when nobody gave weapons to India, Russia did. Similarly, India is Israel's close ally, but it cannot openly support it. The reason is that, then Pakistan can also say it's illegal occupation of Kashmir is legal as is Isarels over Palestine. Again India cannot pick sides. It will be a political suicide. India's conflict with China-India knows no European country will come to it's aid. The reason most of the economies of major European countries are tied closely with China. Most European economies will collapse if china really wants it. So India knows there was never any help and there will be none in case of the India- China war. So no, it doesn't matter if most of the European countries have different cultures, different view points, even different political agendas. None of them will go against the mutual consensus and act on their own. So in the end, they will protect their personal interests, but India cannot. By the way, i was in Sweden for quite sometime and toured major countries in Europe. I agree, they have different attitudes, they speak differently and so on, but that doesn't mean they will act individually in making big political decisions. Not saying they will not have different local political or even global decisions which do not directly hurt the top countries in Europe.

@@zuzanareactsyep.. EU..lols. But it doesn't matter who accepts it or not. When it comes to foreign policies most of them sing the same song. Mostly the song that America wants them to sing. I have hardly seen any of them stand out in the crowd, let's say in major UN decisions.
Anyways, coming to China, the USA is worried that China will take over. So the next move I think will come from China. The USA knows that India is the next best option for it as it follows democracy. China and India accommodate for one third of the world's marketplace. Reading, watching a lot about these two economies, I don't feel it's a matter of years, but decades for India to reach the top position in regards to economy or gdp/ppp.. before understanding if India can take China over quickly, we have to understand how did China grow so fast.
I know China is facing many problems of its own. Like big realtor companies collapsing, Banks collapsing. Its strict policies against un regulated banking sectors have created greater problems. And many other problems.
But it still leads the manufacturing industry in a big way. It did a lot of reforms, attracted FDI's, and promoted manufacturing industries in 1978. Probably, the best time they could pick. Because within decades, the IT revolution took place and now they have a vast array of products to manufacture. That is not the only thing, China created trained workers or robots who worked for hours, slept less, with lower income. This reduced the company's manufacturing cost by a lot. They almost created robots. But American companies saw this as an opportunity to lower their cost and also evade the strict manufacturing laws in America. Let's say like the pollution emitted by the companies and many such factors. Remember, China is a communist nation. So they are like gods. No one can question them. But that's not the scene in India. What China did in the last 70's or 80's, India cannot do it. Many NGO's will come after the government, there will be protests done by the opposition even if it's for something good. Forgot about ruining the environment or even making ppl machines. So India will never get that sharp rise as China did. So the manufacturing cost in India will never be less than let's say in China. So Indian manufacturing companies cannot compete in price with a Chinese company. So why will Apple and other big countries come to India. Well the answer is China started IP infringements. Meaning, they used let's say Samsung's technology and created an exact duplicate of it. Infact, the phone i have OPPO, is exactly the copy of my favorite phone samsung S and note series. It costs one fourth of what Samsung's S series will cost. I know many ppl will get angry for me using Chinese products. Yep, here there is a wave to boycott Chinese cheap products. But really financially it makes no sense to buy a phone 4-5 times costlier and which has better configurations and looks/feels exactly the same.
So no it will take time. Although, American companies are now realising that for cheaper manufacturing costs, they are losing much more customers and sales.
Just a note, it's different here, not like Sweden, Where everyone is brand conscious and wants an iPhone. Here ppl look at the configuration and what it offers rather than the brand. That's why the Chinese are selling these to us..lols 😂🤣 although, lately it has been changing with genz kids as they are watching TH-cam influencers having iphones and creating a brand within the the community. Like my niece wants an iPhone or they will create havoc in their parents' life. Hope you will read till the end. Took a lot of typing. Please forgive the spelling mistakes as i am typing it with my long fingers on a smaller clipboard.

@@zuzanareacts did u ever noticed why Europe is so divided into many small and tiny countries comparatively to rest of the continents.. because of the delusion superiority complex within themselves, so much unrest Between two different beliefs, ..so much so that it broke apart, and interestingly from the past all the world wide colonization was done by European countries...
So from the past onwards Europe has a mindsets of taking things from others but not giving..
Some interesting Fact u should know about India:
Way before ibrahim religion came into existence, there was hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism Jainism, ( all are sanatan dharma, Sanatan dharma teaches all the problems are created from within and could be cured from within, that means looking inward, through meditation, yoga, mantras, bhakti/prayers, humanitarian works, non violance, truthfulness..it says one is free to choose any path they wanted to because same goal may have several paths to achieve that goal, no force, afterall purpose of religion should be upliftment of spiritual growth not of destruction.) etc so many more which got extinct over lapse of time.....all this way of living and beliefs were coexisting peacefully , yes there was war though, but war for territory not on the basis of religion or superiority complex....kings and queens were adopting different way of living, example the great king Ashoka , after winning a war and watching so much violence and blood he gave up his kingdom and followed the path of Buddhism...
He might be the only king in the world to gave up his kingdom after winning a war.
..I'm saying this because here in Asia,, first alian religion which was introduced to us was ISLAM, .... They invaded, not only for wealth and territory but they want to make India a islamic country but with forceful conversation and those who didn't accepted got killed....and u already know about what Britisher did to India, ...
India is the Most invaded country in the world, yet never invaded other and still progressing and optimistic about her future...
I'm a tribal from northeast region of india, arunachal pradesh, got my education from a Hindu school were we learn that Evey religion is equal, Hindu, Christian, Islam etc.. we even performed drama and songs on unity... I thought every countries teaches like that but later in my adulthood I got to know that there are many countries who give religion or race at first priority. My way or highway is no religious at all, forget about spiritual.....
I hope world can learn lot more things from India 🇮🇳 .

Why unnecessarily support any axis of the war... Just be neutral and care about your own people thatswhy india choose not to take side of any one...... Basically European nation are that much small that they cant take any decision without foreign pressure... And we also understand that its compulsion on many small country like yours who cant refuse to take any side, they have to take one side that is American side against Russia... Its only option for u but in case of india.... Why we should care about war.... We are 1.4 bn people... Govt have to take care everyone and do wise decisions for the betterment of our own people...

Well I do think WW1 & WW2 were brutal for europe.
But I'll stand here with Dr Jaishankar as we were dragged in this wars forcefully. All the men who were physically capable of fighting were forcefully sent to europe to fight a war for britain and all the crops were shipped to britain as well resulting in a famine killing millions of innocent women and children. In fact there were more crops of bengal in britain than they were in bengal itself. I mean all this should be already known to you since you are interested in politics, since they never tought all this to avg public. Plus I had rather not mention the inhumane ways which were used by britishers, dutch , France etc to exploit all the resources. In India we are tought "athithi devo bhava" (Guests should be treated as gods), Indians were very respectful.
The kings never used to kill any other king who was unarmed and the war was strictly paused at night by both parties. Now we are forced to adapt the way of others. So it actually is another ex which shows europe made their own problems, the world's problem. My classmate's great grandfather died fighting in WW2 in europe, not even for their own nation.
And still people think that europe has seen the worst of them all, no one talks about how japan was bombed to shreds by USA and how Obama got noble peace award for killing hundreds of thousands of innocents in islamic countries (I do agree that they wanted to wipe terrorism out, but killing innocents is like chopping of the entire farm for removing some weeds).
Fun Fact: Obama killed more people than Osama bin Laden in just 8 yrs of his presidency, It definetly helped USA but all those civillians were the collateral. Also Obama recently raised his concern for minorities of India, So the thing is our current president is from a tribe, previous one was Hindu before him was a Muslim. I don't see why there are no good candidates for president other than christians in USA, come on our constitution is very rigid and treats all people equally. So pls don't raise unnecessary concerns by watching any random street fight online.
The point is if you want to fight wars pls do, but don't exploit other countries in between. Also eu and usa sold weapons to a country which fed terrorists to make money and at that time when India was surrounded from all side Russia provided necessary aid to India.
