      @@ok-xi5yk I don't think so. The bike is so lightweight and the tires are so slim, and also the bike isn't built for high speed (the construction, material, etc), so I don't think it can be easily stable at such high speed

    • @mediumfast
      @mediumfast ปีที่แล้ว +73

      The geometry of bike steering means that the faster your going the more the front wheel wants to straighten out. The contact patch of the rubber is behind the steering axis (called caster), and this pulls the wheel in line. This in combination with a bunch other cool stuff helps highspeed stability. Also, the motorcycle is pulling him in a straight line, so the tension on the cable is not gonna let him veer off without significant effort.

      @matsreineke6072 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      @@EarthIsFlat456 The word "centrifugal force" exists, and is used in various contexts. You are right, centrifugal force, is a "fictitious force" or inertial force. But for "normal" communication (where you don't care about being able to derive equations for e.g the coriolis force) it's far better to say centrifugal force, than stating the frame of reference you're talking about and describing how the constraining forces of the bicycle spokes are ripping the rubber of the tires apart. The so called "g-forces" everyone is talking about when they are describing rollercoasters, astronauts or fighter jets, are also "not real" and just inertial forces. But that doesn't make it less valid to use that word in Newspapers, Articles, TH-cam Videos etc.. You can totally die from too high "not real" forces. Nobody would say that a fighter pilot was just magically flying through the air with 2000 km/h and then suddenly he smashed into his own cockpit from the inside.

    Amazing. The wheels had to be specially built; extremely balanced, spoke tension tolerances exact. The tires also must be balanced and high-ply. At those speeds, the heat build-up could make the tires and rims explode. And any imbalances would make the bike unstable and cause wheel shimmy and steering shake. I didn't see a steering damper on it. This bike was well built.
    He also used a single crown fork. A downhill racing dual crown triple clamp fork would have been my choice. But still the bike seems to have held up well

      At high speed air resistance will slow you down very quickly to sub 100mph. Can put your legs out to catch more air as well (MotoGP riders do this under intense braking)
