  • Conventional forks fork seal job. Why take it to a mechanic?
    Cash me outside

Awesome video! Thanks for making it!
For those trying to seat that seal, an empty tube of caulk is the perfect diameter! I didn't want to have to go to the store to buy pipe, so I had to improvise 😂

That was a fantastic explanation. Thank you. I was told this would be really difficult, but it looks more time consuming than it is difficult. Great video.

Great video, thanks for the upload.
If I can add some value.
Easier to remove the top fork cap whilst lower fork yoke is tight😎
Good time to fit fork gaitors during reassembly. .
The 'Teflon thing' is a fork bush.
Original oil is 10 weight not 15. I run 5 weight and it's far plusher on road.

My Seal is 43x51 mm so I am selecting a PVC pipe to slice, 1&1/2" ID x 2" OD, then cut it open to slip on&off either sideways or off the top O/O°

Hi! Sorry, but the long spring direct is wrong. Turn smaller spring pitch end must face downward. Write in manual. Good luck. Bay!

Clean the parts with brake-cleaner. Thatway you won't contaminate the new oil. And buy some seal-drivers or at least some fitted PVC pipe.

Have you changed the bearings from the rear suspension? I will have to do this job in the near future, but in my country is stil cold.

Watch out for those bolts holding the plastic wheel splash guard.
Suzuki used some reaaally soft metal for that one and it corodes and locks itself in it's thread...
I just broke it after 2 hours of hammering and cursing.
Not even an extractor did the job, it just chewed trough it.
So, do yourself a favour, if you manage to get it out... REPLACE IT WITH SOME STAINLESS STEEL ONES OR AT LEAST ADD SOME MOLIBDENUM DISULPHATE VASELINE ON THE THREADS SO YOU DON'T END UP LIKE ME...
I have to go now... I have to get that piece of screw out somehow... FUCK!

In my trip to utah i busted up my seals. Offroading on a haevy bike does that i guess.
