- today we'll be cutting up logs that we'll later saw up for boards. I just got a new log arch and we'll try it out. I also found a big surprise when I cut into one particular log..........

There’s something calming and peaceful about Dave and his methods. I always look forward to them.
Thanks
I agree
Agreed...it's kinda like watching a more modern Dick Proennke (pbs alone in the wilderness)
😂love this
@@Bushradicalthanks for sharing your experience
Probably the best Ryan's Shed Plans on building a shed is hardly found ever . th-cam.com/users/postUgkxcLVQopTIucrxiVRQA0khLGQEnDVKCSMG And Ryan's takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.
Thanks Dave. You and your wife produce some of the best videos. They are always entertaining and informative. Thanks for sharing it with us.
And son too now!! "Betting On Alaska"
Years ago I was helping my father drop a big red oak, and when it fell to coons came crawling out of it. "I didn't need that tree" he said. We both felt bad, but they didn't get hurt. I love how you care about the land and who lives on it. The place is looking great Dave.
Goodness your fathers heart and soul . So kind and you are too . Love and light thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
Never to old to learn new things even if you never implement the knowledge in your everyday life.
Thanks Dave.
Blessings to you and the family.😊🇺🇲
Back in the early 90's when Home Depot first opened around here (Warwick, RI), they legit had a permanent stand outside the entrance where you could buy sausage, dogs, burgers, and canned sodas. Was there for years before it disappeared.
Yes the one by me in Annapolis MD has had a food truck there every day 15 years running
@@chanceburger3169 This one in particular wasn't even mobile. It was basically a stainless-steel outdoor kitchen and counter up against the building. Its roof was the overhang that covered the entrance/exit. Now it's where they put the grills, lawnmowers, snowmobiles, or whatever's in season.

Poor little tree frog. Thanks for relocating him. 😊
When I was 8 my friend and I were throwing rocks into a dirt pile, and one rock collapsed a toads' little den. Seeing this tree frog just have me the most intense reliving of that moment.
That logging arch is pretty cool and using the wheel horse is a great choice. Too many folks overlook the value of a good old garden tractor.
My 4yo and I love watching your videos! He has learned so much about building from you already and just informed me he wants a logging arch for Christmas! He also just said if he was there with you, he would help :)
Every 4 year-old needs his own logging arc!! Hopefully Santa can fit it down the chimney. Keep him watching this channel... and I'm sure he'll grow up to be a fine young man!
Lots of useful info on this one, Dave! Also, great save on the tree frog! 🙂
Dave, I’m very happy you saved the tree frog!! I sure do appreciate you Brooke and Mick!! God bless you all (and Belle!!)
Another good one. But we need more. It's just too good. You are the gold we've been panning for.
Hard work and a little common sense! Will get you everything you need in life!!! 🇺🇲💯✌
Oh i love what you said to this beautifull Frog not many people would have cared you and your wife are so kind and loving i respect you both and amazed what beauty you do thank you both from down under
Can't get enough of your videos ,relaxing, educational and informative 👌 keep them coming
As a single female,I really enjoy listening how you explain what your aiming to get done, seeing the progress in your land your developing.
I admire you and your wife of your accomplishments.
Thank you for your interesting videos
Their son has a channel now. Betting on Alaska. He's bran new to You Tube and I expect he & his channel are going to do great things.
why does it matter to know you are a single female?
@@EM-nw5oq Why remark?

Someone say fishing? 😂
Our Lowes used to have a truck out front for years. Selling sausage and peppers sandwiches. Made me hungry even if I had just had lunch. lol
My Lowes too in Central PA
Have found this project really interesting and, as and others have said, watching you at work is a real pleasure. Can't wait to see progress!
That frog is so cute! ❤ adorable. So glad you saved him and he wasn’t hurt
I got a log arch for my husband when our truck died!! Oh man they are amazing! Ours is a walk behind but even I can move a pretty huge trunks up to 16 feet long! The older we get we try to think smarter, not harder! Best money I ever spent!! Have a great summer!!
So looking forward to your next video of the abandoned cabin. Can't wait to see what you and Brooke do to it. It will be beautiful!!!
Steve! Thanks for appreciation of our kiełbasa!
05:00 I gave up some time ago on similar stump... with no horsepower available. But its time is coming!
Missed that little guy by a coat of paint.
The log trailer is sweet. Thanks for this upload.
Such a vibe!!!
Can't enjoy the forest without All our Wild Neighbors!!!
I just love following the life you live, you teach us all something useful and worthwhile in every episode.
Keep up the great work.
David in the UK.
Dave you are amazing! Thank You for rehoming that little frog! This was a great video! You and Brook are so much fun to watch! Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🪵🏠
This is truly a great channel. It has the relaxed music combined with calm narration. There’s a meditative quality to it. I dream of a life like this so it really awesome and calming to watch and learn from. Thank you sir for your honest work both on your property and on the channel. 💪🏼💪🏼
Your videos are better than therapy. Awesome work, music, editing, and informative. You are the man. Thanks and be well.
Watching a guy do light too medium duty work shouldn’t be this interesting. I think it’s your voice that keeps people coming back for more. I keep coming back and I like it.
That kid was brilliant making that log hauler. What a back breaker saver😊
Love the ideas you present on how to do things and make them look fairly easy. Looking forward to the next!
Thanks for your work Dave. Your common sense approach opens an eye to get off the couch and get to work. Keep producing these great videos
Much appreciated
Watching these video's makes me wish I was young again with a strong back.
Oooh that little 🐸 so sweet...hop on little buddy ..great bit of kit Dave 👍
Made my day! Wasn't expecting a Dave video today ... Should have ... Because one thing we know for sure about Dave ...
He's radical!!! Best story teller I never met ... Thanks for another insightful life session looking through your eyes!
'Til the weather cools, or another radical story line pops in your head ... I'll be ready to stop and listen!! Wishing you the best. And always continue to ...
"B" radical!
Nothing better than sitting back and watching someone else work! Keep it up!
I love your videos. I feel very peaceful watching them. And I always learn things.
I had forgotten just how enjoyable and downright soothing your videos were - many thanks
Another great long awaited video. Thanks
I love your sons website, he is very interesting to listen too. Anxious to see the progress of his cabin in the coming months.
Sir, my sawmill was sold after I used it for 8 years, and I have learned so much from you in just this video!
I have to say that you are working smart and that I worked hard. I like the way you do it better!
Always enjoy watching your videos. Appreciate you for making them.
Thanks Dave for the nice video. Log hauler is a great idea. Can't wait till the next one.
That’s freaking crazy the frog survived!! Property is starting to look good. Great work Dave!! ❤
Something satisfying about cleaning up logs. I have to clean up hundreds left by beavers.
Love all your videos just wish they were longer. Enjoy your content and listening to your voice is so relaxing.
You should come on down to the deepest heart of south Abalama and the panhandle of Florida and do a little work out in the woods and see what HOT and Humid really is... You'll flee back up north and truly enjoy working in the summertime up there ..😂
We lived totally off grid for 40 plus years in Vermont, loved every minute. I built an arch for 4 wheeler, just found the pictures recently, brought back a lot of memories. Probably pulled 8/10 cord of wood per year. would love to send you a photo if interested.
watched a lot of your stuff, all great great information! Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Hi Dave! Great seeing you on. I’m sitting here watching you where you started by saying you’re going to take it easy and not work too hard. Well, it looks like a lot of work. Great job on keeping the logs for a project or two. Really enjoy your vids, thanks for taking us along! God’s blessings!❤🙏🏼
So cute and lovely that frog
I am really enjoying this Dave! I am so looking forward to you rescuing this wee house
That log arch is the coolest thing I've seen. Its like your own little skidder
I definitely agree about working in the cooler months . It's coming along 👍
The only way to learn is to do, and this man's done it. Always a great watch.
Another great video, and it didn't require perfection or a purpose or a theological idea.
It was just a guy working on a project and getting things done.
More please.
Your ingenuity is truly awesome. You're helping a lot of folks out there! Love that building and can't wait to see how you and Brooke fix it up!
I live off grid 3700 elevation in northern California close to Oregon border. I found you after watching your sons cabin build videos. Amazing all the things you thought him I love it. I had no idea what along arch was until today. I love learning all these new techniques and equipment you have shown me just in the few days of me checking your channel out.
Great progress on the cabin Dave, Always peaceful to watch your life in the woods. ! Thank you for your content !
Thanks for watching!
Did a whole lot of this after hurricane fiona hit last fall. Somehow it's still interesting to watch someone else doing it.
Nice save on the toad Dave. You radical guy. Thank you.😊
Great video. Echo makes an awesome saw.
" you know what they don't sell at home depot..." I could watch a whole video of that. Great video!
Another great video...I could watch these for hours - and I have!
Another enjoyable video 😍. Thanks for sharing this with me ❤❤❤. Watched the video with your wife and son. Wonderful 👍👍. I subscribed to your son's channel and now have all 3 of your family video 😍😁 to enjoy. Hello from Indiana USA and this 62 year old lady.
Loved that logging arch and the tree frog!
Dave, have to say i could watch your videos allll day, the knowledge and relaxing way you speak and your love of the outside and nature is so wonderful. i follow you, your wife and now your son, and all are good souls.
That arch is so cool!! Plenty of woodcutter dudes would love to have that! Now, I'm just a housewife but I imagine. Haha!!
The use of the Logging Arch reminded me of my pipe fitting days. The Sumner company made a similar product called a Grasshopper that was used to move lengths of pipe around a job site by hand.
A very simple and labor saving device.
Oh man! I caught you in under an hour of this going up! Good way to start my day.
Hey Dave love the tree Arch, epic save on a tree frog. Glad to see you folks again. God bless
Great story-telling to accompany the video - becoming a lost art.
Really enjoyed this video, Dave! The log arch is impressive! I love frogs and seeing how gentle you were with this one made me admire you even more! You and Brooke are amazing builders and teachers. I'm sure your son will be the same because it looks like the apple didn't fall far from the tree! Blessings to you and your family!
Many thanks!
That was fun. I'll be here for the next one. See ya, Dave.
I appreciate all that you do and share! It’s so nice to see men being men again 😊
My dad and his brothers used to cut firewood in the wintertime. I think they used a buzz saw that was powered off a belt attached to the output shaft belt pulley on the tractor. That was probably back in the 1940's. My grandfather made the comment that on one snowy day he had to go but he was out in the field. His impromptu tp was a snowball. He said it was cold but it did a great job at getting him clean
I was glad to find a new video of yours. Love to watch these . I recently watched Brooks new one. See you both soon. Thanks
Dave bro.have a nice bless summer, you an wife..hugs.lovily video,s stay strong out there..
It’s so awesome to be able make what ya need from your own property. Make it just as you want, size and quality wise. Having land with trees is like money in the bank, as you said many years ago. I’m so glad you share all the wisdom you share I’ve learned a lot! God bless you and your family!
It must be a great feeling when you build your side buildings from lumber that grew at the very same spot.
Those arches really make a hard job easier. So much better than dragging the log across the dirt and mud
Great to see a project come from a kid learning to create. God Bless!
I loved the video! saving the tree frog was quite the surprise! wow.....Your new log arch is a great help--very cool. Excited to see what comes next for the cabin!
Love your videos always look forward to watching.
Home depot near me used to have a hotdog stand near the checkout. Since the pandemic it's been gone. I still miss it.
so relaxing to watch your videos.
I also have an Echo saw. It’s been excellent. Their weed eaters are great too.
I love your reverence for even the smallest of god's creatures. I am the same mowing the lawn, constantly stopping to let lizards get out of the way. Takes twice as long but it's worth it!
Great video Squatch! You can finally start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Cheers
Dave, you have a great voice and your delivery is spot on.
Your guitar playing in the background is just right. If it wasn't there, it would be alright, just not as good.
God bless
You both are so cool! Very intersting, funny and down to earth! I enjoy both your channels immensely! Thanks gor all you share with us! God bless?
Enjoy watching this video can’t wait to see part two 👍
Great vlog; thanks for sharing! A lot of techniques that help you accomplish so much on your properties! Blessings to all 🤗💗🇨🇦
Hello Dave good you safe froggy 🐸 nice to see you take care.
A log arch is such a useful device. I was using my own, new arch to shift some larch tree butts out to my sawmill. It would have been impossible without the arch. One tip: the sling chain on mine came with a thin metal rod at one end (a bit like a knitting needle, but stronger) it can be pushed underneath a log that is on the ground and retrieved at the other side to make the loop around the log. Saves having to lift the log up and maybe straining your back. Yes, summer is too hot for this work...time to chill and enjoy your land.
Dave, I do enjoy your videos, you do such a great job no matter what the job might be, you are the best.
Are Boss is an echo dealer! He’s used em all and loves the Echo! Great video Dave
This might be a bit of topic... But, can I just applaud your style of story telling for a sec?...
See, as a kid I used to love hanging out with my grandfather, you could always find us up to some shenanigans out in the woods a 2 minute walk from my grandparents' house or out in the garage building something... most of my family say that I get my "mcguyver" style of life from him (our motto was always "if you don't have or can't afford it, just build/make it"), and I am darned proud of that!
But he was also a really good story teller, he kind of had a way of making you feel like you were more than just a sideline spectator to the story, and sneaking in lessons and learning moments in such a way that us kids didn't even realize school was in session...
He passed away 10 years ago, and I still miss him everyday (I ask myself "w.w.g.p.d?" pretty much every time I come across a problem or situation that needs a fix that I can't seem to think of)
Watching your vids is a big throw back to those "good old days" for me, so thank you!
"any store that sells lumber should also sell polish sausage". Truer words have never been spoken good sir.
Thanks Dave! That log arch is great! I'm a big gray tree frog fan, as you can see by my pic.😊
awesome
Dad once reefed on a stump with his 66 Bronco and a chain. When it finally gave up, the Bronco’s front wheels came off the ground briefly and the stump ended up on the other side of street
The place is coming together nicely.
