Those new stk chips you put in are probably counterfeit. Did they work? I have three Technics units that need repair. My technician told me the other day that he’s been reading that there maybe a way to do proper repairs on these. I hope so
Hello, yes, there are counterfeits out there. Good point. I try to buy from reputable sellers. So far I have not had any problems with the new ones in this video, but it's not a receiver I use a lot. I saved the old ones as I think only one failed. Good luck with yours, if you have one to fix. Thank you for your comment. Try to grab a SA-500, if you can. I have one of these, and they are all discrete outputs and 55 Watts per side too.
@@anthonyhfe6450 I have a sa700 & sa800a. They both have been restored & sound great. I have two sa404s that need to be repaired. Let me know if you remember where I could get good stk replacements 👍
Those are some nice Technics you have there. Beautiful! I bought some STK0029 ICs from eBay seller wehavethatitem but that was back in 2018. I searched all my eBay purchases for the ones I used in the video, the STK1039 but I could not find that purchase. So sorry. So I'm not sure where I got them but I'd swear I got them on eBay. But everything is hit or miss. If I had to get ones today, I'd just roll the dice on eBay.
I did some more searching. They're no longer available but I got them from a Amazon seller called Doral Electronics. But who knows if they're still around. Maybe do a Google search. Good luck. I hope you can bring those other Technics back to life !!!
You may have a dirty switch or a bad STK on ur left channel. But it could a number of things that can cause that. Dirty selector switch, dirty other switches, out of spec components like electrolytic capacitors, resistors, or transistors.
Hi I just got the same model

But it seems that once I touched the dial to change the station it gets louder but only when the station is disturbed or not clear
Can you tell me why the left speaker is weaker than the right speaker?
