I rate Floyd hes the best fighter of his time, but he was active during an incredibly boring HW era, anyone down there coulda put them out of business as the smaller divisions had far more competition n more exciting fighters for Floyd to build a name off beating, had he been active right now during the rise of AJ and Fury, and all the wars in the HW division the last few years Floyd wouldnt be the face of boxing, just like Gervonta an actual KO machine under Floyd doesnt outshine Fury or AJ right now, no one does, all HW division needed was some competition and some exciting fighters to take back its place in boxing and its got that, Floyd benefited from a time when it didnt.

Last I checked, Floyd fought Oscar, Shane & Hatton first & gets criticism for all wins. Pacquiao gets all praise for them. Last I checked Floyd fought Cotto a whole 3 years before Canelo did, yet they praise Canelo for beating a future hall of famer. Why's that? Last I checked Marquez gave Pacquiao 4 fights of hell & managed to put him to sleep the last one. The same Marquez that got complete schooled the one time he faced Floyd. Haters say Floyd waited til Pacquiao was over the hill, with nothing left in the tank. Correct me if I'm wrong but did Pacquiao not manage to beat both Adrien Broner & Keith Thurman at 40 years old?... 4 years after he fought Floyd? Seems like he had plenty in the tank to me to beat 2 fighters a decade younger than him! Also...is Floyd not older than Manny? So what sense does that make? Even with Canelo; before Floyd, he was a risk. Ater the fight he was "inexperienced", "too young" & too "green". The man at 37 YEARS OLD complete schooled a 23 year old Canelo who at the time had 42 FIGHTS under his belt. Far from inexperienced. I can go for days, but I say all this to say, Floyd without a doubt earned every right to call himself TBE. We don't have to agree, but his body of work in the ring is valid proof of it I'll say.
