Adult EoE: what you need to know (part 1)

Dr Sarmed Sami, Consultant Gastroenterologist at University College London NHS Trust, discusses EoE prevalence, symptoms and diagnosis in adults.
After qualifying from Baghdad Medical School in 2003, Sarmed moved to the UK where he trained in Medicine and Gastroenterology, undertook a National Endoscopy Research Fellowship and then an advanced oesophageal fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA.
He was part of a team looking after one of the largest cohorts of patients with EoE in the world. He is also the lead author and co-author of over 40 high-impact peer-reviewed publications including the current UK guidelines on oesophageal dilatation.
