- Today I take you through a day in my life as an 18 year old real estate agent in London, UK. It's been a busy first month and today I manage to take you on a few viewings, show you around my local area and talk all things estate agency! Still relatively new to the role so I'm learning as I go but it's been a great experience so far.

Im nearly 23 and hope to become an estate agent when I'm driving. I've lived in 7 different houses growing up and I feel like I have a good grasp of what makes a property unique and marketable. The main thing is, I really see myself enjoying selling/marketing houses etc. Which is why I hope to get in to the field. If I end up not liking it, then it's not that end of the world. But it's definitely worth the shot. You are very switched on for an 18 year old. You will find success I'm sure!

@@orinta9243 try an apprenticeship there are so many estate agents out there that will take people with no experience it will help you gain knowledge and boost your confidence you can then go from there to become a fully fleshed member !

What’s the pay like, going to be a junior estate agent for a year before I officially qualify but wouldn’t mind knowing what the pays like from another young blokes perspective
Pay varies massively depending on where you are and who you work for. Could make £20k in your first year or £100k
Would you have any advice to somebody who is committed to get into the industry but has no school education? Is there any way of studying at home and getting into this industry?
It's really weird how they make you spend time deleting emails and driving about just to deliver a letter... the return on these activities are so very low, I'd go absolutely mad. Does it not annoy you? I wanted to be an estate agent but if they are going to make me to that kind of stuff then I don't think it's for me. I'd rather be on the phone or face to face with the decision maker closing deals - that's the highest ROI activity both personally and commercially.
You’re quite right. My role looks very different now that I have more experience. That was at the very start to learn the mechanics of the business.

Hi Bart, I’m also 18 and I recently got called to an interview with a real estate agency and although the meeting went well they offered me 8k per annum and said I’d still be able to earn 25k per annum through commission which I don’t think is very believable. Obviously you can’t say how much you earn but does what I say sound right or should I be requesting higher wages. Because I would be working full time.
At 18, take any experience you can get. How much you earn will also be area dependant in agency. If you’re in the South / London, I’d expect higher wages. But if you’re up in the north, it’s probably about right.

@@XtremeGamerps4 It varies from agency to agency. Most good agents do not rely on the basic salary and make up most of their pay through commission. It can be very lucrative but it's area and agency dependant.

Man, watching things like this made me glad I got into bitcoin years ago and got out of London. I can have land, mountain views, sea views and four or five bedrooms with outbuildings for that kind of money here.

That’s London! A 3 bedroom house would cost around £1m ($1,371,000) in the area I work in so real estate isn’t cheap in London unfortunately haha

Nope, straight into the deep end! A bit of hard work mixed with luck. Speaking to the right people, at the right time.

Been at my job one week now, a lot to learn but I’m enjoying it. Thinking about moving to London to work in estate agency in a few years but everything seems so expensive. Could you perhaps do a brief overview of expenses and potential earnings in London (I’m assuming it’s extremely different than up here in the North lol)?
Sounds like a good idea! I’ll work on something and release it at some point. London is the place to be for real estate.
But I’m glad you’re enjoying it! Most agents hate it and want to quit within 6 months but those that stay past the first 6 months then start to like it as things become easier with experience. So you’re doing a good job if you’re genuinely enjoying it lol

Im currently in car sales and honestly i love how rewarding the sales are but not enough cars to sell and there are to many salesman and i work8/8 i have no work life balance its very difficult i love sales marketing dressing nicely makes me feel nice do u suggest real estate

What’s your job title and what is the salary like if you don’t mind me asking? Also are you a trainee or an actual experienced negotiator?
I’m a ‘Senior Sales Negotiator’ and the pay varies massively. Range can be between £30k and £125k.
I am interested in doing this although I am a women so I worry women are not valued as much a men in this job.

Tyres have emissions. So not Zero. And I'm not even mentioning what's required to generate the electricity itself. Carbon neutral is an accounting sham. I'd distance yourself from this movement and carry on your good work making sales. That, you can be proud of.

It is as well to remember that Estate agents are sales people first and last; they care NOT how much they sell you property for so long as it is sold. The fact that this guy has admitted to touting tells one all one needs to know.

I'm an estate agent in ireland we have to work with someone for 2 years to get our licence and do 38 exams over the 2 years it's not like the UK where you pay a grand and do fkall to get one lol very lucky
