Hi there, great video, I'm currently finishing another Data Analysis course that I started before knowing of the existance of this one, so I'll finish before starting Google's.
I have a quick question about the certificate, your video was published 4 months ago, did the curtificate help you in any way? Like getting a new job in the area or an improvment in your current career? I know the knowledge you got from it is the most important thing, just curious if the certificate itself helped in any shape or form.

This is a great question. Unfortunately, I'm actually not taking the course for landing a job in the field. I'm a UI/UX designer but hoping to learn more about data analysis because it's such a crucial skill no matter what I do.
However, I've recently went through job search, so there are some things in common. My take is that to land a great job no matter in what field, we need to prove we have the 1)knowledge/skill and 2)experience. Google certificate provides number 1; but to gain experience, we always need to find side projects to involve in or internships to put those into resume. So I suggest you to find real life projects opportunities while working on the certificate 👍

It looks like I'll go with the IBM course. It looks more technical like collecting data from multiple sources, performing exploratory data analysis, data wrangling and preparation, statistical analysis and mining the data, creating charts and plots to visualize data, building an interactive dashboard, etc.

Im wrapping up this google data course and I plan on taking the IBM course next. I've heard great things about it and in hindsight, I wouldve went with the IBM course first.

Do you think I can get all I need in this course only without m having to go to bootcamps? I only wanna learn data analysis and not much of data science. The bootcamps are expensive and I am scared of acquiring another loan. Do you think this course will provide me what I need to apply for jobs in data analytics without having to go to bootcamps? I'm not an expert in data analytics. I suggest you to audit the Google course and get the sense of how it feels.
Just as a life-time learning -> I suggest you to learn from multiple sources, not just from Google. Also try to work on projects related to it even if it's for a "fake" project.
Hi Aliena, I noticed at 3:45, you mention having to download softwares to take the course, and that it might be possible to do it all 100% online without downloading anything. Is that really possible? I have a company laptop, which prevents downloads, so doing something all online is very beneficial! Please let me know your experience regarding the downloads!
Aha, then you can use Figma throughout the course. The course will have a section that asks you to use Adobe XD, feel free to use Figma for that section too. Figma can be accessed online without downloading.

It’s 39$ per month with Coursera plus. So it depends on how long it will take you to finish the course. I think coursera also offers financial aid too if you’d like to take it for free but you would have to do some research yourself for this option since I didn’t apply for a financial aid. Hope this helps!

Hi, once you get the certificate, it does not expire.
For the course, it costs $39 per month, so you need to pay the monthly fee until you finish the whole certificate or the sub-certificates you want.
@@AlienaCai doesn't the course expire 12 months after receiving it and then you need to retake the test afterwards ?

I am not sure about this course. I am a UX UI designer who wants to learn data analysis for websites and apps. It seems like Google Analytics is the best tool, but this course covers other tools that don't seem to be relevant. What do you think?

Not "needed," but if you don't have a lot of UX training/ experience, I would highly recommend.

How about the opportunities after completing this course? I have around 10+ experience in IT..
im currently working on the capstone now and I absolutely hate how they did this portion of the course. I wish they would walk you through the capstone course. All of the other courses have been extremely helpful.

Not at all. Me too. I was also a business student. Business knowledge can actually be very helpful here. Because the final goal of data analysis is to help the business to be more successful.

Good question! I took the google UX course for my career and it was very well designed. Since then, I gave myself the challenge of learning something everyday, and it doesn't have to be something directly related to my career (UX design). I've heard from many people that the Google Data Analytics course is pretty well designed, and I tried it out for the sake of learning something I'm not familiar with.
@@AlienaCai Interesting. Data crunching techniques would surely come in handy for quantitative analyses when working with large survey data, and much more.

Richa! I felt you. I did it successfully. What i did was asking my wife to help me with the selfies (to avoid instability while holding the passport). The left and the right turn ones were tricky too, but again the quality or photo holding stability is the key. Note: I did it on my passport but my colleague found it struggling with the Residential ID since the stamp reflected the light and caused the letter splashed and not readable. I hope it helps.

valid for life 👍 But please note that the skill weights way more than the certificate.

I'm not really going into data analysis. My job is a UX designer. And I would say it provides you the skills needed to land a side project/ internship.
i am still finding hard to sort out wether to take this coursera courses or school diploma which cost way more than this google certificate. but still have higher chances to get in to job markets. why this course is so good?? and what this specific certificate have to offer than the school diploma with co-op placement??

This certificate only provide you the skills that's needed. It doesn't have co-op opportunities. If you can find yourself some opportunities and real life projects, you could save a lot of money. But please keep aware that it requires a lot of self discipline to finish and lot of effort to get those practice experience.

@@naimdhukka7380 The courses are to develop the jobs skills and portfolio to apply for the jobs. Having a degree will make you stand out from those that may not have a degree.
How much programming we need to do in this course?
You don't have to know programming to take this course. The course will teach some SQL and provide you an online platform to do it. It gets more technical after the first course.
Currently I'm pursuing Google data analytics professional certification course. But little bit l concern about that currently I'm completely frasher, and till now I have applied in few data analyst job but they demanded for work experience. So i just wondering that after completing course do i get good job or not??
The certificate is not job guaranteed. And most companies don't care about whether you have certificate or not. What matters are your skills and your experience. So I will suggest you to get some experience through smaller scale projects or internships before getting a full time role. (I'm not so knowledgeable in this field so please also ask others for suggestion.) adplist.org have free mentorship that could be helpful.

Hi, you can totally take this course on audit. There’s even no need to buy it for one month. No one cares about the certificate, only the skill you can bring 👍 Alternatively, apply for the financial aid and that would work out too 👍

I think the course is great for beginners, especially the SQL parts. I've seen some of the course on TH-cam and they use Google BigQuery to process their data. Great experience and skill to gain.
Other things like clean data are also important too in any data analyst roles.
Totally agree! I was also impressed by how they teach SQL and make things very beginner friendly. I took a data science course in college and remembered nothing about SQL but this course provided a great foundation.

Good question! I haven't thought of it actually. I'm more interested in learning the skill in data analytics and apply to my other works instead of becoming a data analyst myself :)

Good question! I think most companies still use SQL and R more for data analysis. They mentioned Python but didn't dive into it.
R is for data and statistical computing.

Which advance level of this course in cousera
It started with entry level in the first course and gradually gets harder.
You're lying the course isn't practical. It has to much theory I would say that have 10% of exercises

The real question is will Google itself and others hire anyone with such a Certificate ?
The honest answer is NO.
They gonna require X number years of experiences, tools, and other technologies entry level Data analysts do not have.
This course is a feeler course. You will not be successful in a role with just this course alone. Think of this as more of a intro course. If you actually want to be an analyst you will have to dive much deeper into all the skills. This course certification has no actual value in the job market. If you have no relevant experience I would highly suggest getting into a company that has an analytics department and as to are developing your skills so when your ready it’ll be easier to make that transfer.
