How can you give it 9 / 10 if you haven't even done the certificate yourself? This is just a promotional video that you get money from through the link shared in the description. I'd urge people to read the reviews of the first Google DA first before deciding to pay for this. Don't get ripped again. The first Google DA cert was very underwhelming! People should first read student reviews on reddit etc! Do your research before enrolling people!
Just an initial rating based off everything I’ve seen. Looks really good! It is sponsored, but that’s my genuine review. If you go back to my second video on the first Google Cert I did say this is very introductory for people who are just starting out. If you already know a bit it wouldn’t be for you.
@@KHAN-ib1dj which the first Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, or the new advanced one? The first cert was wasn't certainly not. Too introductory level - barely covered the basics for R and Tableau. How far have you got with your courses? What's good about it?
@@mrahhmedable A foundation is required at some point, whether you like it or not dude. The first google DA cert provided plenty of information for someone to get their feet wet and begin building confidence in themselves as they began to explore data processing, cleaning, analysis and visualization. With some light programming as well, you know, like an introduction, like a base, junior level position. And personally, throwing shade at one of the most genuine dudes on youtube, teaching DA for free is kinda crappy.
@@beansssss3847 since when is me not wanting others not to get ripped off "throwing shade" on him? He gave this new cert a 9/10 without even sitting and reviewing the content? Lol. People can see that as being disingenuous. Especially after the way he described the first Google Data analytics professional certification being equivalent to a university degree lol. That statement alone by Google warrants a lot of criticism from these so called "reviewers" - we see non of that. Instead, we see all positive comments about the course, and we know why that is. People aren't stupid anymore. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Somebody with his experience and knowledge in the data science space knows very well that's its light years away from being equivalent to a dagree. The lack of criticism / real honest review of the first course contents says a lot. People out here are paying loads in fees for these courses after them being missold to them as something they're not. A combination of DataCamp, Udemy and freecodingcamp.org are a better alternative. DANG IT!!! I am halfway through the existing course :( This newer one is so much more focused on the skills I'm looking for with the bonus of you leading 😭😭
I checked the course material of " Google Business Intelligence Professional Certificate." and " Google Advanced Data Analytics Professional Certificate". I have heard from many data analysts including you(Alex) says that data analysts don't need to learn machine learning like regression, logitsics, etc . Also many data analysts says that most lesat skills used as a data analyst is python. and that is the reason i picked "Google Business Intelligence Professional Certificate". I would love to hear your opinion on "Google Business Intelligence Professional Certificate". Thanks for making this video.
I plan on reviewing that soon! Definitely agree that Python is not necessary at the beginning. This is why I think the Advanced in the course title makes sense. I didn't need it till I was more of a mid-level analyst.
Hi Alex, for a beginner to Data Analytics, would you suggest taking the original Google Data Analytics course or we can directly take this Advanced course.
The first one just wasn't enough for anyone to get a job, not enough focus on technical skills, just fluff. Also it was structured badly, they would be showing nested SQL queries in one video, and then showing the SUM function in Google Sheets in the next, very strange. So I'm skeptical about this one.
Hey Alex! Love the video! Quick question: I'm planning to go back to school for business analytics. Do you think it would be a good idea to finish my degree first, or just do certifications and projects until I finally land a job in data analytics? If I'm being honest, I believe that I have the ability to be a data analyst, but I'm sure if I'm passionate enough to try to pursue it as a full-time job? I'm sorry if you have addressed this in a previous video, but I would really like to know your thoughts on the subject. Thank you!
Hey Alex sir. Which course would you recommend to data analytics certificates? 1.Google data Analytics or 2.Google advance data Analytics? (For absolute beginners)
@@sukeshreddy2286 you think? i was thinking about doing the first one but since this one came out and i already have experience in python i wanted to see if it would matter if we do the advanced one

Thanks Alex! Question: I have no experience in data at all. However, I am interested in data science rather than Analytics. Which one do you think might be better for me? The Google Data Analytics Cert. Program or the Google advanced data analytics Cert. program?
thanks for his video that describes the certification really well. There's only one aspect I think you misunderstood. Data analytics is not data analysis : analytics does involve machine learning for pattern recognition, trend analysis, etc
Bagging refers to the bootstrap aggregation, a Decision Tree Classification method where you make full tree based on the bootstrapped dataset. It is an ensemble method that is we group the results of these Bags and predict on the basis of combined result.
I just got approved for financial aid for the original beginner Google Analytics course today, in your opinion for someone who is new to data analytics should I continue with this course or do you think the advanced course is the way forward for everyone?
If you're brand new to Analytics I recommend the first Google Analytics course. If you've already learned the basics or taken that course, this looks like a nice step up.
Thanks guys! I’m just bummed I’ll have to put time and effort in to learning R when I should be learning Python. I don’t think I’ve seen any Junior DA job specs here in the U.K. that ask for R but plenty ask for Python 🙄
Hey Alex :) Really happy I found you here as I explore this world! I wanted to ask if you've heard of Masterschool? They also teach data analytics and I'm in between that and Google's!
Nice video Alex, thank you so much. I also have no background experience in data analysis. I need to start with the old one or your Coursera. I wonder how would I go about it.
Alex, what are your thoughts of someone completely new to data analytics, such as myself, who’s currently taking the original google course and starting the new advanced course concurrently? For context, I’m in the 4th module of the original course.
Hi, we are classmates! :D im on course #2. Personally I think we need to be very comfortable with the job scope of the 1st course, hone the skills and put them into practice (i.e. find a job as junior data analyst). When we get the hang of it, then it's time to take it to another level by studying the advanced course, which will earn us the senior data analyst title.
I'd finish the first Certification/ (Remember to create your Portfolio: a website with some projects). Practice a lot! Read those books about SQL, Python for Data Science, etc... Take the new Google Data Analytics Advanced Course... Update your Portfolio... and so on....
Hi Alex, amazing video, ...... 9:30 I am actually interested in taking their advance course because I am more interested in learning Phython, BUT I have not taken their beginners course that has SQL and R.......do you think its advisable to skip the beginner's course?
I agree w Alex that Google shld have put Python in the first Data Analytics Prof Cert. This Advanced course is 50% data analyst and 50% Data Science. You get to learn XGBoost algo.
If you're brand new and want a good overview of analytics, yes. If you know the basics I would go to this one if you want to learn Python for Analytics.
Hi Alex! Thank you for this video!😊 You have a previous video regarding DIY curriculum using coursera. What course should I remove from the list if I plan on taking this google advance data analytics course? What do you recommend? May I also ask if it is redundant to take the google basic course if I already completed your DA bootcamp?
Interesting question - I would say this is a good Python course. I don't know if I would change the Python for Everybody course. That's a fundamental course for Python, but goes really in depth. This course is much more Analytics focused so it's quite different and narrow. This would come after the Python for Everybody course.

As someone who is just now halfway through the original Data Analytics certificate course, I can't help feel a little sour. The first one was touted as a "learn-at-your-pace" course that would have you prepared to enter a job by the end of it. So now there's an "advanced" version; does that mean I'm going to have to pay for and work through another 3-4 months of classes to get a job anywhere because I only took the "basic" one? Is the original course I'm taking suddenly outdated and a waste of time?
The course sounds very similar to my data analyst course I took except for the machine learning aspect (my mentor was the one teaching me data science basics when I told her I may be interested in becoming one in the future) I think I’m gonna take the course and compare it to my first course to see how similar they are
1) is there a prerequisite of taking the first exam before taking this advance version? 2) is the public version of Tableau enough to use for this class? why is Google sticking to Tableau for visualization? at the very least i'd expect them to be pushing Looker

I think this would be a great video. I have definitely looked into how AI would affect DA before changing careers. From what I have found so far, AI lacks the ability to interpret the data. Plus there are so many ways to gather data it may still require the human element for some time. The AI might be used to make the job easier which could potentially affect the pay scale. I would love to hear Alex’s take on this.
I have just finished your Online Bootcamp playlist with somewhat basics of SQL, Tableau, Python and all those included in your course. Do you recommend still doing the entry level google data analytics certificate or directly proceed to this advanced level one? Thanks!
Go directly into Advanced. The regular version only teaches you SQL, and Tableau basically. You might also might need to learn excel and Google sheets functions as well. Actually take the regular one first lol
I actually don’t if you’ve taken mine - the technical skills taught in my bootcamp goes more in depth than the Google Cert. If you want theory the Google cert may be worth it.

I started the google data analytics cert and I was just getting 100% grades on everything without even thinking even though I am completely new to data (I am only finishing my 2nd course tho but it took me only 2 days to finish "10 weeks" worth of challenges). Do you think I should immediatly move to the advanced one and learn sheets/excel and SQL on my own? I already know python too.

I’m curious if IBM will come out with an advanced data analytics certificate or at least update their current one and go more in-depth now that Google has come out with this course. They are, after all, competitors when it comes to professional certificates.
Would you recommend this updated version versus the original version they put out? I was going to enroll myself in the original. Does the program and certificate actually assist with getting an entry level position?

Especially free coding camp! It's free! Funny how these resources are never promoted - because you can't make money off it.
Free coding camp is amazing for somebody getting started.
The likes my first comment received speaks for itself.
@@KHAN-ib1dj did you not read anything in this thread??? I've already completed the first DA Cert!
Alex, loved the video! Is it just me or is TH-cam cutting your content short? Seems like I missed your comments on like the last three courses and whatever you might have wrapped up with... Probably just me... Very interested in this Coursera offering. Cheers! 😎
Hi Alex, for a beginner to Data Analytics, would you suggest taking the original Google Data Analytics course or we can directly take this Advanced course.
same question
Same!@@MichaelWilson-qm8pf
The first one just wasn't enough for anyone to get a job, not enough focus on technical skills, just fluff. Also it was structured badly, they would be showing nested SQL queries in one video, and then showing the SUM function in Google Sheets in the next, very strange. So I'm skeptical about this one.
Thanks for the information and I'm taking the class!
Thank you!
Looking forward to taking this one!
Hey Alex sir.
Which course would you recommend to data analytics certificates?
1.Google data Analytics or 2.Google advance data Analytics? (For absolute beginners)
Let me wait with you
Better Go with Advanced Course which is very beginner Friendly too
@@sukeshreddy2286 you think? i was thinking about doing the first one but since this one came out and i already have experience in python i wanted to see if it would matter if we do the advanced one
I did that first Google data course in a 2 weeks. But I knew most of the material. I know this python stuff, but I will do this. Alot of good info even stuff I don't know
Alex,
Thanks for the video..
I'm gonna do it. I started Python a while ago and did ok and then just dropped it. (Studied and got my Security+ cert)
Thanks for the thorough review!
Thanks Alex!
Question: I have no experience in data at all. However, I am interested in data science rather than Analytics. Which one do you think might be better for me? The Google Data Analytics Cert. Program or the Google advanced data analytics Cert. program?
Hey, I am one of the course developers, I would recommend to anyone getting into data science - happy to connect and talk more about it
thanks for his video that describes the certification really well. There's only one aspect I think you misunderstood. Data analytics is not data analysis : analytics does involve machine learning for pattern recognition, trend analysis, etc
Hi Alex,
Thanks for the insightful video.
Would you recommend this course for a beginner ?
Bagging refers to the bootstrap aggregation, a Decision Tree Classification method where you make full tree based on the bootstrapped dataset. It is an ensemble method that is we group the results of these Bags and predict on the basis of combined result.
Thank you Alex! This is really a helpful video.
Tq, Alex...much appreciated.
I just got approved for financial aid for the original beginner Google Analytics course today, in your opinion for someone who is new to data analytics should I continue with this course or do you think the advanced course is the way forward for everyone?
I'm curious too because I don't know Python
Do the first course, when you're done you can follow up with this.
There is a reason 'advanced' is added to it name.
Its good to start with this as a foundation. Makes you know more about the cocepts which you'll definitely come across with is ur DA journey
I’m currently finishing the regular Google Data Analytics course. Can’t wait to take on the new Analytics Course!!
Hey Alex :) Really happy I found you here as I explore this world! I wanted to ask if you've heard of Masterschool? They also teach data analytics and I'm in between that and Google's!
Google is out here like "Just one more cert, trust me bro."
Been expecting this.
Hello Alex, thanks for this video. Can I go directly to this course, without the first one?
I was not expecting you to say “butt hurt” and I let out an audible laugh at work. Thank you for that lol
Lolol :D
Nice video Alex, thank you so much. I also have no background experience in data analysis. I need to start with the old one or your Coursera. I wonder how would I go about it.
Thanks a ton Alex, this was super useful!
Alex, what are your thoughts of someone completely new to data analytics, such as myself, who’s currently taking the original google course and starting the new advanced course concurrently? For context, I’m in the 4th module of the original course.
I think you should do them separately, its good to be ambitious but you need to make sure to absorb the content properly!
Looking forward to it
Would you recommend this course over the old Google Data Analytics Course?
very helpful, thank you Alex
Thanks!
Does it make sense in 2024 to do both the standard and the advance courses, or is it better to focus directly on the advanced course?
Not sure if I missed it but will the follow up video be posted anytime soon?
Hi Alex, amazing video, ...... 9:30 I am actually interested in taking their advance course because I am more interested in learning Phython, BUT I have not taken their beginners course that has SQL and R.......do you think its advisable to skip the beginner's course?
I agree w Alex that Google shld have put Python in the first Data Analytics Prof Cert. This Advanced course is 50% data analyst and 50% Data Science. You get to learn XGBoost algo.
I finished all yesterday, due to other commitments. They have examples in Jupyter Notebook as good references.
Great video, thanks. 😊 Question : Would you recommend taking up the basic data analytics course prior to taking up the new advanced course ?
If you're brand new and want a good overview of analytics, yes. If you know the basics I would go to this one if you want to learn Python for Analytics.
@@AlexTheAnalyst got it. Thanks brother, for your advice 😃
Thank you Alex for uploading this. I finished the first one and learned so much.
Hi Alex! Thank you for this video!😊
You have a previous video regarding DIY curriculum using coursera.
@@AlexTheAnalyst Noted. Thank you for your great insights as always! I'm really thankful to you and your channel. It boosted my confidence to switch my career (from Mechanical Engr) to DA.
Now, I always dreamt of writing SQL queries haha! Now hooked to becoming a DA!
Thank you for sharing.
I'm learning from your boot camp. Thank you for doing this. I'm really eager to change career and become a data analyst. Thank you so much
Totally excited. Glad they added python.
Should I do both? I'm doing my MS and want a refresher on a lot of the topics.
Thanks a lot for this Video Alex. Im new to the data analysis, I was planing to take some certificates on data analysis. What do you think about taking the "Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate" first and than "Google Advanced Data Analytics Professional Certificate"? Or can I jump directly to Google "Advanced Data Analytics Professional Certificate"?
Let's complete it together
Thank you for this amazing review.👍
Just a small question, I haven't done the initial Google data analytics certification. Can I directly start from this one?
For sure - if you already know the basics of Data Analytics and want to learn Python for Data Analytics this looks like a good course
@@AlexTheAnalyst Perfect, Thanks Alex for all your guidance over these past years. ✨
Very nice video sir
Hey Alex ,
I'm a data analyst with 2.5 years experience in industry.
Should i go to Ibm Data Science professional Certification or This Google Advanced data analytics Certification.
Please Suggest
Also make a Comparison Video on them ?
Please Reply.
I search on Internet on this topic but i didn't get my answer.😢
Hi alex! Im planning to have this certificate rather than the previous one as a complete beginner. Is it ok? What do you recommend?
Same question is it ok to get this one first
Hey Alex! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this course, do you recommend taking this course although the student doesn’t have any experience on the field?
This one may be slightly too advanced if you’re first starting out and don’t know anything yet, but looks good for after you learn the basics.
@@AlexTheAnalyst thank you Alex, I understand, I’ve finished the first Google certification and just finished my first SQL project, I think I’m ready 🫡
Alex, great guidance thanks for sharing. I would like to ask you. DO I need to do the Analytics Certif. I have already work on Python, or can I go to the Advanced course, having the knowledge in Python? htanks
So for someone that is just getting into data analytics. Would you recommend this one or the career foundry one?
Alex what is your review on IBM Data Analyst professional certification? You are life saviour & love your content
Hi Alex,i have a question. I started with python recently and I just learnt recently SQL/Excel would be preferable to begin with as a data analyst. I want to start with SQL but i feel i should finish with the one i started (which is python) and then move to others. What do you think
The most important question do I have to take the Google analytics course before starting this one?? since it's advance?
Sir would you mind to make a video on impact of GPT on data anlayst job or it's future
@@AlexTheAnalyst Thanks ! What will be your recommendation after your bootcamp then? Is the Advanced cert a good option?
@@cocolee3154 it looks good to me. Goes more in depth into Analytics using Python than what I’ve covered so far.
Wow I found this vid in the perfect time.
Hi Alex, would you recommend taking this one immediately after completing the original PDA cert? And would this combo be more attractive to recruiters? (I'll probably take it anyway, since I apparently paid for another year of Couraera Plu
thank you for your video! Been following you!
I just have a quick question, in order to receive the certificate, all I have to do is finish the capston project right?
optional as there are none peer reviews! LOL 😅
CompTIA Data+ VS this cert? Pick one.
You are the best
Thanks for the video. I'm just wondering at what point do certificates not matter?
I’m half way with Google Data Analytics… I have ZERO exp within the Data Science realm and wondering if I should continue with the Advanced course right after I finish course #1, should I?
Looking forward to nail my first entry level Data Analytics job, but have IT experience as Unix Sysadmin.
Alex, could you please advise?
I’m curious if IBM will come out with an advanced data analytics certificate or at least update their current one and go more in-depth now that Google has come out with this course. They are, after all, competitors when it comes to professional certificates.
I need to start now
Would you recommend this updated version versus the original version they put out? I was going to enroll myself in the original. Does the program and certificate actually assist with getting an entry level position?
same question i was about to ask , if taking the original would be good or taking the advance
Can I jump directly into the advanced course b4 the 1st course if I know python and pandas?is that a good idea or should I do the data analytics course b4 this?I learned a little ml and do aswell.thanx
Hi Alex, thanks for the breakdown. I had recently enrolled for the IBM's cert since it focused on python. I'm guessing it's okay to take this course next and as it builds on the foundation laid by the IBMs course.
Or is it necessary to do the Google' DA course before moving onto this one.
Thank you in advance 😊
I previously took the Google Data Analytics course after which i am currently taking the IBM data analyst cert. I think it's best to complete the IBM analyst cert before proceeding to the Google Advanced DA. Always good to finish what you have started.
Looking forward to taking the GADA after this.
Good luck on your journey
I was just about to ask the exact same question, it would be much appreciated if someone could answer if we could take this advanced course by Google directly after the IBM one or do we need to take the beginning Google one first
@@ArtoriasSif you can take anyone first as you choose. Both the Advanced Google and IBM offer python while the first Google DA certificate offers R programming language. The difference is the Advanced Google DA has more recent materials since it's the latest among the rest.
Google is to AI, as
IBM is to ML. Is it? Like Google is to software, as IBM is to hardware. Is it? As MSWindows, Arduino, Linox, Apple, Android, or other OS platforms. Flowcharting, got me.
Hi Alex! Your videos are very helpful indeed. After completing Machine Learning and Deep Learning Specialisations I am troubled that I must gain ground knowledge of DA. So I am between IBM's Data Science and Goggle Advanced Data Analytics Prof. Certificates. Which one would you recommend for someone out of the field who wants to get into DS (and AI especially)? I have studied radiology, working in Clinical Trials now and want to merge AI in medicine.
The google one is woke propaganda. If you can handle that
Hello Alex I've all the skills for DATA analyst but no degree any kind can I get a job??
Was thinking fo taking Python for Everybody at Coursera. Would this be a better fit if I want to go the data analyst route?
Hey @dentanlim You can take Python for everybody. It's a foundation course on Python, and Dr. Chuck teaches that course quite well. However, I also see that the professional certificate this video is about includes a course on foundations of Python. If you're going to pay for the courses out of your own pocket, my suggestion would be to go for this certification course instead as Dr. Chuck's P4E course is available for free on TH-cam so you can take it whenever you want to.
@@siddharthghosh1406 thanks
