Not expensive stuff either. At 500 Euro this is 1/3 of the price of what you would pay for an OEM unit without installation and a lot less features than this.

Just for future reference,when making a cut like that it's safer to give urself some "wiggle" room and other tools to make it exactly. I wish someone was workin on stuff like this for my e36

just put a double din head unit in, thats what i did with both my old e46s. My first one already had it in the late 2000s.... head unit ran windows CE lol.

They need to make this for the E46.
BTW, Harbor Freight has some little saw blades and shank that will fit in the Dremel. Wicked little f*cks that will bite you good if you're not careful, but they work so much faster then that diamond blade or any of the cutoff wheels. Oh, and the package has several sizes up to around 3 inches, or something like that...a good selection for different needs.

i bought a similar unit from a different manufacturer for my e87. pricetag at about 500 bucks, delivered in the same week (in germany). can't tell if this particular website here is legit but these things come at a fairly expensive price...
I checked the VAT Reg No and the residence of the company on street view. And the company does NOT look legit.

Looks good but in my opinion the Bayern Mods kits are better, check for yourself before commiting it's just that this system seems pretty dated and laggy in comparison

great video man! My only question is does the headunit limit visibility at all? On my old car Mazda3, it had a similar style unit and it didnt block visibility and was really easy to glance at without taking your eyes off the road. This one looks quite a bit bigger.

Nvm after a quick search I saw that some already come with it, but how? I thought that shift knob only came with the F-series so how is it on a E-series
Not a big fan of these head units on the E82. They look so out of place. Also blocks decent amount of front windshield visibility. On the F series car they sit much lower.
Have you ever seen one in real life? Because in our opinion views stay great.

It's really not that much work, takes like 5 min to take dash apart the only thing that'll take long is making the cut, everything else is easy

Cool little units, but severely lacking in any EQ or anything else. If you want solid sound skip on this and the Alpha set. Grab some speakers and a DSP 😊
If you something simple, go this route, no hate just giving options 😊
Would this mess up my H and K surround? the Premium audio? because the h and k DSP is what makes the stereo sound so damn good- i feel like this would effectively eliminate the DSP in the head unit. But perhaps not?

But no one talks about it. I directly asked from motive supply. But they also not answering directlyz they just said “ sound comes through factory radio”
But as i saw in many videos everyone is connecting the audio out to AUX.
In this video also its not showing.
Me too dont want to sacrifice the bloody good sound quality what i have already and still couldn’t fine any product which is not demolishing the fiber optic.
Until i find something im happy to listen through my AUX. why someone (who concerns sound quality) should spend big bucks if he still has to use the same AUX?

Don't think I could cut my dash like. Replacing the dash is a huge PITA if you ever want to go back. Also concerned about limiting direct visibility. Great vid though. Watched till the end and the 135 is killer!

Love the video, and clean installation instructions! The website has two variants for the e82: one that says Android 10, and one that says it's for Apple Carplay and Android auto. Which one do you have?

I have no idea how I keep finding these, but every time I do, it just makes me wish I could find a good aftermarket unit for my w220 Mercedes. The stock headunit was outdated back in 2004, and it's sure as fuck outdated now

You can deactivate the parking lines from the camera itself if you Cut the loop wire on it

So my bluetooth on my e82 isnt working (aux,usb, bluetooth) all not functioning so instead of changing the whole bluetooth module (they dx it as the problem) im thinking upgrading it to this..my question is, is the new system intirely not dependent on my actual bluetooth module working? My usb and aux still wouldnt work adding this new one, correct?

Does the screen feel a little too high up on the dash? The same retrofit in the E90 looks flawless. This one feels a little to up in the air.
How is it holding up now after about half year later? Still as fast or are you having any problems? Kind of tempted go buy one of these, but I'm worried about how long they really last.

@@R6dude bro for non nav bimmer you need a new dash and you gotta code the car lol ive seen vids def not worth it. This is by far more modern and cheaper.

This unit is amazing, did you find that the wiring was the hardest part or cutting the dash?
The hardest part was probably running the reverse camera cable. You have to take the center console which is a pain. Easy. But a pain.
How is the screen while driving is it in your vision

But i dont suppose you remember your burble settings if you were on MHD do you? sounds really good but not over the top.
Steering wheel also looks slightly thicker than standard, did you add the trim yourself or have it retrimmed slightly thicker?
Gear shifts also look really crisp, xHP stage 3?

Yes it had XHP(can’t remember if stage 2 or 3) also this was equipped with DCT transmission. Also I had the burble on aggressive and only about 1 second duration. As for steering wheel, yes I wrapped it in alcantara/suede. Thanks for watching!

Stage 3 xHP, Custom tune with wedge through MHD but im from the UK so did it all remotely, and i clicked on this originally as ive bought the android head unit finally. But im also getting the steering wheel done and yours looks quite chunky and i quite like it hahaha!
I appreciate you answering though mate! might have to speak to the guy doing my wheel and maybe get it a tiny bit chunkier, love the look!

I wonder how did the included dial with the switches turned out... Is this headunit a touch only variant, or can I scroll through the menu using the buttons and the dial?
I don't have this particular unit but I do have one where they sell the "idrive" controller separately and you can place it on the factory location, it works with both the dial and touch screen, I assume this video is for a newer product so I would hope this one has the same option...
