You know what would have worked perfectly for cutting that dash in one go..... that new electric bus saw you got to do your rear sunshade. You would have just needed to drill a hole on each corner then use the saw to cut to each hole. Just saying🤷♂️ but great install either way it came out looking great and that’s all that matters. Congrats Matt.
Looks very clean and the touch screen is more responsive than my GA9450B Android unit, which isn't too bad. I don't like how it says it's an Android OS but has mixture of IOS icons. A big no-no for cutting into the dashboard just for a head unit. While I did had to cut mine it wasn't as much as yours.
@@EvanGoyuk Had it four years Stopped working once, black death screen, Avin sent an sd update, that worked, now touch screen doesn't work when phone mirror, support is now at seven months and not fixed Asked for a sd card update file willing to pay a fee, nothing from Avin Look elsewhere my 2 cents

@@tronn_carter Think they are all foreign made Xtrons, Avin 4x4 Canada Roll the dice i guess Prices have gone up at least 150$ in the last few months,as i was willing to buy another one,but decided my tunai firefly lets me bluetooth my music and the avin screen still works for nav,but do miss phone mirror and music album art Cutting the dash was no problem looks oem
Thanks for the reply. Please allow me to refrase: does the bezel follow the contour of the dash, sitting flush against it so the fitment is OEM like?. Because of my OCD I'm worried about cutting the dash and end up watching gaps. Is the hands free calling experience like original equipment?
yes, i am not doing this ti my 328i. want to give myself the option to revert back to a previous setting if i end up not liking the aftermarket one. but the radio looks good tho

Thanks for the video, I have the unit for my BMW E90 form Avin USA I set it up the other day but I am having a major issue whenever I receive a call the Bluetooth screen take over the radio and I am locked out from using any other app. Until I end the call, Waze navigation stop moving and stop giving direction. I cannot keep the call going and get any other app on the radio. Same thing happen if I’m using android auto over the USB CarPlay dongle. if you don’t mind can you please do a test on your unit and see if you are using Waze and receive a call if your Bluetooth screen lock you out. Can you use any other app while in the call over Bluetooth. look forward to your answer thank you

Hey Evan. Does this unit have to be on Aux input from the radio? Not sure if I’m missing something but that seems to be the case. Cannot control from this unit if I want to listen to radio. Also when in tuner mode on radio, calls doesn’t ring and have to switch input to aux again. Thansk.
I bought this headunit but bestbuy refused to install it because they said it requires permanent cutting of the dash. Any recommendations of where I can get it installed from? I would have done it myself but I don't have the tools to cut it.
Hi I have the same head unit however I played around with a few settings and decided to reset back to factory settings. Now my android head unit automatically switched to android recovery mode every time, it’s the only thing I can see. It gives me the option to factory reset however when I touch the screen it doesn’t respond at all. There are also no buttons for me to configure. Would you by any chance know how to resolve the issue???!

iOS icons is because we are using Apple carplay

no real difference to cutting less, you still cut it, and to fix the dash u still need to buy a whole new one???

You need the nbt mod for the e46.. Very possible👍
Anytime you install any type of sticker or adhesive all you need to do is clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and it will stick

You mentioned MHD. Does that mean you can flash your ECU with it?
You could but I don’t recommend it since it might shut the unit done when flashing. I just recommend using the unit to show gauges and data logging

We had a little more additional trimming we had to do but nothing major. Yes the screen is pretty secure!
