stardew valley was based on the og harvest moon games. when did stardew become the blueprint for anything

The way I see it is that, Harvest Moon is much older and has a much smaller amount of clout around itself. Whether or not something becomes an iconic blueprint in the industry depends on the audience. Because SW is so renowned and loved it had effectivelly become the reference point to games like it.
The funny thing is back then when stardew valley just came out everyone is mad at them for copying harvest moon 🤣

I'm hoping they could increase the running speed because my god it takes forever to get to a destination even if it's just close by. I know we'll get teleports but sometimes I like to not use them.
Have you gained skill points in foraging? You can increase speed twice by redeeming those points
Also, make sure you have sprinting on and not just regular walking. Space bar also gives you a little dash.
you could also change game time speed!
I’m loving Coral Island so far, even if it is still early access. Personally, I feel like it’s a perfect mix of Stardew and Animal Crossing. One thing I will say, is that I wish I would’ve waited for the final release.
It seems more like animal crossing than stardew valley to me, just with hunky humans rather than cute animals idk. Looks fun tho!!
I bought Coral Island and got disappointed because there's almost no story developed. The game itself is amazing! Everything is beautiful and you'll have much time to spend to get money, unlock content, etc. The major problem is that you'll have barely any stories with NPCs to develop and the game does not communicate to you that the Main Quest has stopped in that point. I lost hours of my life wandering around the ocean just to find out that there were no more to explore, since the diving areas that I need are still not in the game.
I'm really enjoying your play through so far! I'd love to see you continue
Any time someone says a farming game is a rip off of Stardew, I just want to beat them in the face with a copy of Harvest Moon.
One thing I wish they'd do differently would be to get rid of the day clock. Even with stardew valley I've always hated running to a place on the map and then only getting a few minutes of time doing a task only to have to run back to make it into bed. It's a huge detractor from being able to enjoy the actual game play. This type of genre is for people who want to relax and enjoy something that offers a bit of progression and accomplishment. The time element really needs to be adjusted. I understand it's importance but it just needs to be done better.
Look at a game like Minecraft or Zelda where the day passes, the night comes and the day comes again without penalty. You won't just pass out because you're not in a bed. You don't have to just stop minning and run back home because it's almost day 3 of Spring.
The worst part of all is you have to pause the game when you wake up and think about a plan of action for the 3 minutes you have left after doing your farm responsibilities. Heaven forbid you just stand there by a river for an actual minute to think about what you might be inspired to do next. You've just missed most of the day! lol
I plan on getting this but not until the full release mainly because I only play games on console. I thought your let's play series was great- showcased the game. Plus I think we have the same taste in men so I enjoyed the scenery!

I don't know about this one. I like the idea and you mentioned combat but I didn't see any in this early access review.
The funny thing is I usually watch American youtubers so alot of the time I'm not awake when TH-cam videos come out so when I get a notification saying you posted and it not 2am you have NO idea how happy I get 👏👏👏

They are aiming for roughly another year before full release. The second major update is supposed to drop next month, and there are 7 more major updates planned after that. Consoles are expected several months after full release.

This game was created in Yogyakarta City by small indie developer.
The game itself is about 25$, right? And minimum wage of Yogyakarta City is 6$ a day, or or about 0.75$ per hour . So if you buy 1 game (I didn't deduct any tax) , you could give 1 worker a living by 4 days !
I just not belief that may be this is first game from Indonesian developer that have beautiful art graphic. And thank you Satch for reviewing this game , you almost only make video about The Sims games, and very seldom make about other simulation game.
But thar $25 doesn't just go to wages as the building, electricity etc. Has to be paid as well
I don't understand your logic. It has nothing to do with minimum wage, if you buy this you give this bla bla bla. As an Indonesians, this shouldn't be our way to promote the game. If people like this game, they will buy it. If people who bought this game love it, a lot of videos will be made talking about this game. So, focus on the game itself.
I've been playing the game since it's early alpha and I personally love it! I thought it would be just ok and mostly just like playing star dew vallt at first but have honestly enjoyed playing it a lot more than that. I love the HD models that it uses instead of pixel graphics and the hand drawn character busts that show up when you interact with characters, the diving is a mechanic that I am having so much fun with and overall I'm just having a blast with this game!!
I'm a little curious about the bugs that you mentioned cause I haven't experienced many of them since the games first update a while ago idk if it's a difference in my PC but I just wanted to say that the frequency of bugs might vary from person to person based on their system specs.
I'm really excited for future updates to this game and really excited to see how big the map will be in the final game since there are more sections that haven't been revealed to us!
The waypoint system already works....I don't think it is fully implemented, but it does work for a lot of places...you have to go to the lake temple in the upper right of the map and complete the quests.
I love that it's a stardew valley copy. I love SDV, all except the graphics. The old graphic style doesn't interest me, I don't care about decorating in SDV. With nice graphics in Coral Island I'm looking forward to it.
Stardew Vally is 1990s pixel throwback. Coral Island is modern game. I don't mind playing the Coral Island in alpha because I'll be familiar with what the game has to offer and the game mechanics. This will make the day one release on Switch a breeze to play.
Considering the Sims 4 is always in Beta I think Coral Island is a winner even in Beta.
I bought the double pack on kickstarter and played the alpha and told myself I could wait till full release to continue playing... I just bought the game on steam a couple of days ago cause I missed playing it so much. But I'm someone who really loves farming sims who doesn't mind replaying games like this multiple times, especially since I want different spouses, farm layouts, animals, etc. Now I'm a little over 20 hours into my beta save after playing the alpha for over 250 hours... safe to say I'm addicted lol
I just picked up wydleflowers, but I heard this will be available on switch as well, so I think I'll need to pick it up lol

So many content creators will just outright recommend a game, and I’m glad that despite you saying it’s good, you clarify it’s not going to be mind blowing or a must buy. Made my decision to wait until full release! Got enough other games to tide me over until then :)

It definitely does rip off Stardew Valley in nearly every way, but the problem with that is my prejudice and nothing more. There were tons of people who said the same thing about Stardew being a Harvest Moon rip-off but I wasn't aware as I'd never heard of or played Harvest Moon. Yes, there are differences in art style for all three games but that isn't huge. The simple fact that your gameplay captivated me to the point of WANTING to let go of the prejudice says a lot. My interest in the game has increased as a result, which means I'll likely WANT to buy and play this game at some point.

What happened
Yeah you keep on saying that the game is being compared to all these other games but most people that I hear talking about this game compare it to animal crossing because that's exactly what this is it's an animal crossing cologne just like Disney's dreamlight valley is and yeah this game is complete garbage most people like myself can't even get it to start and if we do get it to start it just has an issue after issue after issue I have a high end freaking laptop for gaming and I can't even get this piece of garbage to run on it properly
