Ahh! The days. The preacher downstairs use to watch us with integrity after school, until mom got off work, back in the day. We loved him. We babysat us in the 90s but it's like today. Can't do that anymore. Paperchecks✅ $1.00 got you 8 snacks at the corner store. I miss the random guy who came to the apartments and happily throwing up the kids high up in the air and not dropping us but catching us. ( We wore him out) 😅 I miss the fight in the apts, watching through the screen window in the projects.😊 I miss free books at the school fair and free donuts and a caring school community if you didn't have it at home. 😭

We had a frozen cup lady in our neighborhood. She sold red kool-aid in small paper cups that were frozen. They were, to me, way better than a popsicle and sweet. During the heat and humidity that was summer in Florida it was a good cool and refreshing treat. Also ice cream trucks sold the Blue Bunny red, blue and white bomb pop. And they also sold orange Creamsicles and drumstick waffle cones. We also played kickball. And I picked wildflowers. We also had honeysuckle that grew on the fence between my house and the neighbors house. It had the most beautiful and relaxing scent. My childhood wasn't perfect but it had those good moments.

Born in 85 and I think about this all the time. I feel blessed to have been able to have experienced that era. I remember a little bit of the 80s. I have nostalgia over it. Acid washed jeans, colorful clothes, watching Jem, Transformers, Gummy Bears, Sesame Street, (old school of course), loving NKOTB because my babysitters and schoolmates were obsessed with them, watching Coming to America for the first time (not knowing I would watch that movie countless times for the rest of my life), long-bodied cars, piggy banks, walking to the park with my mom, the music was everything, neon lights, arcades, super tall high top fades, eating at Subway when they used to have the wallpaper of the maps of NY’s subway system and the old images of people from the early 1900s, graffiti everywhere, record players, rotary dial phones, 25 cent pay phones with private booths- yeah I remember my fair change chunk of it. Lol Now the 90s was my hay day! I just miss the simplicity of it all. When technology was just something cool to have but not a necessity. We interacted more with each other back then. Life was real.

I'm an 80's Baby 90's teen as well, but I would go back I had a good time. I remember when you had to call and order the Disney Channel. MTV actually had music videos. Kids Incorporated with a young Fergie and Jennifer Love Hewitt, Zoobily Zoo, Reading Rainbow. For me it was the roller rink that the kids went to. Yes, Ice Cream Trucks! Yup I remember when my mom put my hair in a french roll for a picture. Let me tell you, I felt sophisticated. McDonald hamburgers and cheeseburgers were 69 and 89 cents. I kind of feel bad for the kids coming up now cause they don't really have nothing that nostalgic like the generations before them.

I would go back to the 1960s when I was a little girl. Sometimes the drama created by today's technology is too much. So much was better: TV (no cable or streaming), better food, music, etc. I was a teen during the 1970s, and that decade was cool as well; I'd spend a day there.

I grew up in the 60s and going back to the 80s would be great! I'd buy Apple and Intel stock and live like a queen now! I remember more about the 60s than I remember what happened a few years back. Drive in movies that we'd wear our PJs to; visiting my grandma's house who had an outhouse; going to the lake with my family and buying candy cigarettes and candy lipstick at the snack hut; over hearing my parents fight trying to put toys together on Christmas eve; and sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night to maraud the neighborhood. Kids have it so much worse than the free-roaming children we were.

Our house only had a TV in the den and/or the basement (Daddy's space). Sidenote: I still only have ONE TV and it's Not in my bedroom. I sleep better without it.
Lived in Detroit and would turn in bags and bags of cans and bottles at the corner store for pocket money (10 cent a can or bottle).
I would definitely GO BACK 😊

Just this afternoon I told my partner how grateful I am that I grew up riding a bicycle before kiddie helmets became a thing. Yeah, yeah, safety... Got it. I'm jus' sayin' looking back on when I was a little nappy headed boy - there was no way!
