Thanks for watching and commenting . . . I'm not looking at my notes but I do believe the capsules are very similar, but the c4000b has a double sided capsule and the electronics are obviously different, tube vs solid state. I don't have a SoliTube, but it's on my list. I do have a RØDE NTK . . . I just checked my notes . . . the serial number for the SoliTube capsule is 2512Z0003, which is different than that of the c4000b - 2512M9904. Maybe the SoliTube capsule is the one-sided version of a similar capsule? peace
Was never a fan of these mics. I have the original c3000 "first gen" (maybe that should be "Erste") and love that. Never knew why I didnt chime with the 2000/4000 range.
Thanks for watching and commenting. You are obviously not alone, they did not sell the numbers that the 1000 and 3000 had. Also the 4000 was surpassed in quality by the 414 and the 2000 is maybe just too niche for the cost. If you can pick either up for a decent price, and you actually record regularly, they can be a useful tool. Peace
@@redcabinacoustic-official I've a couple of 414s too. Was my fave until the 818 came along, now its between those two. I do wonder if the 2000/4000 suffer the slight boxy nature off axis that you get in the 414s. They're always cheap on ebay too
Huge fan of the AKG C-Series line. Thanks for sharing all these videos. 🙌
@@jamisonfrench Thank You for watching and commenting; more to come!
Look at that awesome shirt!!! Not to take away from your video. Still watching! But spotted that shirt lol!
Thanks! Do you have a shirt yet?

No not yet. Someday lol!
I like my c2000b Austrian made on my sax, sounds similar to the rode NT1(not A) a tiny bit more warm
Thanks for watching and commenting - I think I'm the only person on YT that has never owned a RØDE NT1 - good to know.
Again great video!
My go to mic is the AKG Solidtube, which basically looks like a longer c4000b. Would you say it also belongs to the same series?
