I drive a 2009 VW CC, it is sports car and that little car will go. At first I didn't like the short rear end, now I'm used to it, and it is not an ugly car. The sun roof does not open completely Mark Boucher, so there is no video to correct. For me that car is a little small and it is a little low to the ground for this old gal but damned, it's a dream to drive!
I would definitely recommend it as a family car, but keep in mind that because of its coupe design, there is less leg & head room in the second row. I would take a GTI over the CC as a family car because it's more practical and they have the same engine, but if you're looking for something more sophisticated, the CC combines elegance & sportiness.
this car is BEAUTIFUL! Such a shame the new VW CC looks much worse. For me it's like taking a step back when it comes to design. It actually looks as if made in the '80s. How come they approved the new design?!
That depends on which CC you're comparing it to. The FWD 2.0T is on par with the TSX, but the 4Motion is a much better driving experience than any TSX (in my opinion).
Couldn't agree more, got mine in 2009, the car is a piece of art. Was planning to get a new version with all the latest gadgets after 5years or so in order to keep up with the car's evolution and after sale price but the new design is a complete let down. I m sticking to the one i have.
The exterior is great. The finishing inside is nice, a quality car for price at the base sport level. Once you start getting into the v-6 trims though, you're at Audi A4/6 prices at which point why not get the Audis? (unless you just like how the cc looks, which is very good). 25-27K base and $35-40K at the higher trims. Plus inexplicably, the higher trims come in automatic and the manual's only availaable for the "lower" trims. Odd. Great car for the price though, I'm happy with mine.
To appeal to the regular old everyday commuter. It was cheaper to make it that way and it also helped compete with Toyota. They made it even cheaper by removing the 2.0T and replacing it with the 2,5l 5 cylinder.
dsg is one of the best what you can get, i hear around 100,000 miles you have to to the garage for the coupling plates but that is the only thing bad about this car, but i think how better tou tread you car how less problems it will give..
Here in Sweden The Volkswagen Passat CC TDI 170hp DSG would cost you about $43.000 . Alot of money, but it´s a disel and the MPG´s is very good =) Sure we have the petrol engine too, but petrol in Sweden is veeerry expensive $5 per gallon ($1,70 per liter). So stop hating on the car becuse of it´s pricetag. It´s a Premium ( well almost) car, and it kicking the japanese alternativs ass! xD Just enjoy the looks of this wonderfull car!
@gadgetguy4000 Hard to beat that 2.0 Turbo 4. Super easy to tune. APR makes a kit that boosts it to over 400hp. But even the 200hp. T4 is peppy enough when coupled with the 6 speed manual. I agree with the RWD notion.
@louiz6554 How come they aren't any different versions for Farsi? Or German? Or Japanese? Only English has different versions to it because the people who speak and write different versions to it and adopt it as there native language are..... Thick.
i have a 2010 passat wagon 2.0ti 127,000 miles and the worst thing about the car is VW service. at $170.00 an hour. outrageous. for over 6 years now vw tells me about engine oil leaks, I have never seen oil on my garage floor except when vw changes the oil. i have to take it back and suddenly no more leak. I quit going to vw service because of this 3 or so years ago. And think about this, vw gives me free oil changes ($90) because I complained and have bought 4 passats In a row. to bad toyota doesn't make a wagon.
Looking at newer ones now or possibly a used model, I didn't realize the sticker price was so HIGH back then, WOW! I would think most agreed about the price...WAAAAAAAAAAAY too high, and that's why the Passat In 2010 the Passat sold about 2,400 units. Most of its competitors sold literally 100 times more mid-size sedans than that in 2010. This past March VW sold 9,521 Passats and is on track to sell about 115,000 this year in total. The Passat is near dead though...long live the CC! :)
Ight real review, this is probably the next best thing behind the Audi A4. i'd have a tough time deciding between the two, but i'd personally prefer the A4 just because i think its more Classy. but my no means is the Passat CC a bad car. 1-10 (10 being best) solid 8.9 A4 is a 9.8 in my opinion.
This guy makes the car look small. He probably should have mentioned all the great things about the 2.0T engine starting at the high 20s with great fuel economy.
@yellowmusicfreak the boss 302 is a completely different kind of car. and audi r8 for similar money? how about $100,000 more. You realize r8 starts at 149,000 right
This car has a flaw in its timing chain belt tensioner, Volkswagen will always denied this, big money for this fix, fuel pump, water pump, radiator fan, sensors burn out like crazy, my CC been towed four times.
@yellowmusicfreak Okay, like others have said, you're comparing a car that starts at around $30k to cars that start around $50 and $150k. Not even close! Secondly, are you claiming this car isn't good because it isn't as fast around the Nurburgring? Um, hello? This isn't a sportscar, it wasn't made to go fast, it was made to be fun to drive, luxurious, and economical. You just picked two cars built for extreme speed and labeled them as competitors. I'm extremely confused.
@yellowmusicfreak are you kidding me? please explain how a boss302, m3, and AUDI R8 WITH A $149,000 STARTING PRICE is anything near "similar money?" wtf are you talking about
" heres the problem, $41.000 dollars." Hehe, where I come from, this car cost around $126.000!! You Americans should learn to appreciate your ridicules low car prizes.
@superseiyan Audi A5 sportback looks a Good Option the best good looking car in the Market if i had 35K and More i would go for Audi A5 , No doubt , ENjoy your Passat
@Vegetto2011 35 hwy, 32 city. more beautiful and well made. faster, luxury and 400 amp stereo standard. turning headlights with sharp turn mirror lights for a full 90' view when turning at night. ya, better. and why do i know its better? we own one.
Tiedeeee What the heck are you talking about? Go to Germany and buy second hand one. It's 10.000 euros. This model, by new, is no more than 20.000 euros these days. 120.000 is an Audi RS6 or a S65 AMG.
for 120,000 euro you have a brand new range rover velar.. this car has the same price tag as in europe only we in europe pay with euro and in tyhe us they pay with dollars... 120,000 euro yeah right good luck paying that much hahaha for 120,000 i have a brand new range rover hahaha....
I have the very same car and I have to say this is one of the best kept secrets ever... looks better than any Audi
I drive a 2009 VW CC, it is sports car and that little car will go. At first I didn't like the short rear end, now I'm used to it, and it is not an ugly car. The sun roof does not open completely Mark Boucher, so there is no video to correct. He says it is a 3.8 liter engine, but the correct size is 3.6.
Elvir J and it’s a vr6 not a v6
I would definitely recommend it as a family car, but keep in mind that because of its coupe design, there is less leg & head room in the second row. NEVER BROKE DOWN?

I love the VR6 sound!!!
@PL3690 i think in europe they use bhp which i think is different from hp
Really nice car
To appeal to the regular old everyday commuter. It was cheaper to make it that way and it also helped compete with Toyota. They made it even cheaper by removing the 2.0T and replacing it with the 2,5l 5 cylinder.
The V6 is AWD only, in Australia at least.
i heard dsg gear gives problems.. is it true? i gonna get my cc real soon. I don't know if dsg automatic gear of manual..
dsg is one of the best what you can get, i hear around 100,000 miles you have to to the garage for the coupling plates but that is the only thing bad about this car, but i think how better tou tread you car how less problems it will give..

Gorgeous Car
What's that coop you keep talking about?
Coupe
1:53 .
I thought it was overpriced in Australia but at least we have the V6 4motion with the DSG!
41k ??? I got it for 5k LoL like 4weeks ago
Does work well? Is it worth the buy?
is it doing good ?
I paid 7k for mine 2 years ago. Its a beast. I got the DSG automatic gear box.
Around 2010 it cost that much
@harrisferrari $80000 usd? wow, you can probably get a loaded A6 or maybe base A8 with that here in the US.
I have acura tsx. does Passat CC have better driving experience that TSX?
2019!?
Where do you come from?? In Poland fully loaded new 2012 model CC with 2.0 TSI & DSG goes for less than 46kUS$
Camry's blow. There's nearly no comparing a German car to a cheap Japanese car
There's a V6 Camry, for your information! Electronics and mechanics will outlast Passat's.
@NuVega5 yea, but its not in the same segment, the a6 compares with e, 5 series, this is more of the 5 gt, cls,
@gadgetguy4000 Hard to beat that 2.0 Turbo 4. Super easy to tune. APR makes a kit that boosts it to over 400hp. But even the 200hp. T4 is peppy enough when coupled with the 6 speed manual. I agree with the RWD notion.
What is the 0-60 time of the CC VR6??
NICE SMOOTH , RELAXED AND COHERENT SPEECH . AND..... DAMN !! HE'S BIG !! HE COULD BE A PROFESSIONAL BODYBUILDER ANY TIME . A VERY GOOD DNA STRAND .
@quatlen Really? The 200 horsepower version only starts at less than 30k. That's about the same as the passat! And that car is nice :)
I just purchased one and I'm not at all impressed with the gas mileage. You go around the corner and it seems like it used up a quarter of a tank!
THEN why didnt you but 2.0 tdi ? hahahahahahahah. 3.6 VR6 is not for fuel saving :D
@louiz6554 How come they aren't any different versions for Farsi? Or German? Or Japanese?
Only English has different versions to it because the people who speak and write different versions to it and adopt it as there native language are..... Thick.

Very good review dude thanks alot
isnt that model AWD 4-Motion?
I think if you turn the sunroof knob the other way it opens all the way. He should correct this video, otherwise pretty good
he couldn't even sit up straight in the back 😀
@RichardVanWagner If it's a 3.6 its a GT and it IS 4 wheel drive in europe. Can't see why VW would chage it to front wheel drive for the US!
Theres a such thing as a four door coupe?
3,6 is not front wheel drive. It's 4motion. It uses a haldex clutch.
@babeeshan9 ok he probably just meant that they are both german..
Great video.
Looking at newer ones now or possibly a used model, I didn't realize the sticker price was so HIGH back then, WOW! I would think most agreed about the price...WAAAAAAAAAAAY too high, and that's why the Passat In 2010 the Passat sold about 2,400 units.

Dude you only vented the sunroof you didn't push the button backwards which would have fully opened the sunroof
doesnt open its only a moon roof
Ight real review, this is probably the next best thing behind the Audi A4.
i'd have a tough time deciding between the two, but i'd personally prefer the A4 just because i think its more Classy.
but my no means is the Passat CC a bad car. 1-10 (10 being best) solid 8.9
A4 is a 9.8 in my opinion.
Huge fan of the a4 but would take this with 4motion.
The engine is actually 3.6L not 3.8L, horsepower though is indeed 280hp
@MrPamplemousse Sorry, no idea how that happened.
Think it was my friend.
This guy makes the car look small. He probably should have mentioned all the great things about the 2.0T engine starting at the high 20s with great fuel economy.
@yellowmusicfreak the boss 302 is a completely different kind of car. and audi r8 for similar money? how about $100,000 more. You realize r8 starts at 149,000 right
$41000 for the top end model is expensive?? In Malaysia the car cost approx $80000 for the base model!! I want to shift to US..
@bltnxkrw lol no but he said '' cc's littlebrother ''
it is just like saying how is your little brother, your dads brothers son?
@gadgetguy4000 4motion in europe, usa just gets the less advanced models because the market isnt ready for it yet.
Why is it names passast cc?
gurvir44 custom cruzer, that's what cc stands for
comfort coupe
Can I drive it? Very nice car
This car has a flaw in its timing chain belt tensioner, Volkswagen will always denied this, big money for this fix, fuel pump, water pump, radiator fan, sensors burn out like crazy, my CC been towed four times.
why does it make 280hp in U.S and 300 in europe?
Long trip fatigue.
This guy is fucking jacked, I wouldn't expect to see him in less than an F250 and the like
@cstrikeplaya No you don't, the language is English so you pronounce it in English.
Not some bad abbreviation of a English word.
@amapolishplummer it's called an american accent
nice review :)
Try doing that with ur camry....HAHAHAHA
Why did he say so???
In Europe now you can get this car with 12.000€
ive seen it for less than 10,000 euro
Got mine for 6,000$ :))
CC stands for Close Combat.
@yellowmusicfreak Okay, like others have said, you're comparing a car that starts at around $30k to cars that start around $50 and $150k. Not even close! Secondly, are you claiming this car isn't good because it isn't as fast around the Nurburgring?

@louiz6554 Yes, it comes from a French word. But since as we are and he is speaking English, he should pronounce it as if it was a English word.
USD41,000? This car costs MYR240,000 in Malaysia
@spforsupergringo1980
If u're from Singapore then u have to add the word 'la' to the end of the sentence
That... is not a sportscar. Its a luxury car most.
@amapolishplummer it depends where you are from
@yellowmusicfreak are you kidding me? please explain how a boss302, m3, and AUDI R8 WITH A $149,000 STARTING PRICE is anything near "similar money?" wtf are you talking about
" heres the problem, $41.000 dollars." Hehe, where I come from, this car cost around $126.000!! You Americans should learn to appreciate your ridicules low car prizes.
@amapolishplummer no its not, you pronounce it however you want. smart-ass!
Coupe -> 4door? The Hell.
3.6 isnt it
Dear Americans, you're such kidds!!))) Russians. The car is lovely
if it has a v6, then it is awd, not fwd
why do you call it the passat cc? it's just the cc...
+Anonymous Because in 2009 VW called it the Passat CC. They dropped the "Passat" a few years later and just started calling it the "CC."
That's a 3.6.. not 3.8
i dont think giving it a smooth roofline makes it a coupe. it is still a sedan. and it doesnt make it a sportscar either.
it's not fwd... not the v6/vr6's
@superseiyan Audi A5 sportback looks a Good Option the best good looking car in the Market if i had 35K and More i would go for Audi A5 , No doubt , ENjoy your Passat
VW Passat Comfort Coupe
$41K...hmm, I'd take a used Audi A6 and get tons more car than the CC, but it is nice however.
There is no 3.8L v6 in the VW factory, its a 3.6L v6
@Vegetto2011 35 hwy, 32 city. more beautiful and well made. faster, luxury and 400 amp stereo standard. turning headlights with sharp turn mirror lights for a full 90' view when turning at night. ya, better. and why do i know its better? we own one.
$41,000, with the V6 and auto he's driving the one with the four wheel drive.
you are good !!
AND YOU CAN GET IT WITH 5 SEATS !!!!ONE QUESTION, DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS?
Lol 41.000 dollars i would move to america to buy it, fucking cheap. In the netherlands it is between 80-120.000 euros.
bullshit
Tiedeeee What the heck are you talking about? Go to Germany and buy second hand one. It's 10.000 euros. This model, by new, is no more than 20.000 euros these days. 120.000 is an Audi RS6 or a S65 AMG.
Tiedeeee a used 2015 model with the 3.6 VR6 costs around 35.000€ in Germany right now
freezingthedarkness exactly. Passat CC is not even in luxury class. It's just ridiculous to pay 80,000 - 120,000 euros on VW.
for 120,000 euro you have a brand new range rover velar.. this car has the same price tag as in europe only we in europe pay with euro and in tyhe us they pay with dollars... 120,000 euro yeah right good luck paying that much hahaha for 120,000 i have a brand new range rover hahaha....
man that car are awesomeeeeee
@gadgetguy4000 haha yeah that would be insane!
Its a 3.6 vr6. And coupe. Means 2 doors. Thats got 4. Just sayin.
@louiz6554 At the end of the day, it's down to opinion.
I have mine and i'm sure you have yours.
How many times does this guy say "sporty"!!!
Hs ha even camry ss is cheaper, 41 for cc I dont think so....
i hate how he says, voltzwagen
It is an awesome car but way to expensive.
I liked the part after he gunned it and said try doing that in your camry cuz Toyota sucks
@louiz6554 But you're speaking English, not American.
@amapolishplummer ... Same fucking difference
I don't really like the taillights :(
