Lots of comments from guitarists. I play this track for hours and jam with my harmonica. Can get some sweet riffs going. Thanks Sebastian!

Thank you for putting this out there, I recently bought a resinator for playing slide. Learned more in twenty minutes tonight than in the seven months I've owned the guitar. Really helped me understand the keys!

Has stopped the guitar for about 20 years and took it back couple of weeks ago with the intention to get seriously at it. Struggled to improvise over most tracks until this one came along. Suddenly it didn’t feel like practice anymore.
    It feels awesome.
    Thanks

    • @keithbarlow9701
      @keithbarlow9701 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Playing along with this track finally made a few things "click". Mostly simple stuff I've heard over the years but I didn't really understand how to utilize it. I knew playing form 1 scale starting at root is my major pentatonic. Move down 4 frets and play the exact same scale---that's my minor pentatonic. That seemed like a really handy trick, but I didn't understand how (or when) to deploy it. Playing with this track taught me when to play major pent and when to play minor pent. And how to make a smooth, nice sounding transition between both positions. Also, I'm starting to utilize the other 4 pentatonic shapes more often. I'm no longer stuck in the box! Form 1 pentatonic is so overrated 😂 It feels good to *finally* get some practical use of the bits of theory I've accumulated.
I might be able to trick people into thinking I'm a decent guitar player now 😂

I don't know what it is about this track but just being in the beautiful key of Gm, the slow soulful melody ... I don't know, all I know is that this track is my go to in order to get in my zone every single time! It's a classic in my book with no doubt.

Using this for blues on the banjo is a lot of fun. Keeping sync with the guitar is where it's tricky, but some fancy fret play is all I need to get back on beat. Great track, great job, and thank you. Salut, from the US, and I hope you're well :)

Hey Sebastien, I was looking for some different tracks and came upon this one. I like how you started playing over it. I went back and tried to play what you were doing. I got some of it, but only just some of it.You are a very fine player. Its like the blues just comes out of you beautifully. You are the real deal man. Thanks for being so good. And thanks for the track as well.

I began to play the electric guitar in 2019. I really couldn't tell how many times I've played along this backing track of yours ever since then. It makes me "hear" so many great melodies.

Combine Mixolydian with the Blues scale for this: 1-2-b3/3-4-b5-5-6-b7. That’s 9 out of all 12 notes; even b2-b6-7 can be used in chromatic passages on the way to an inside note. The b3 must always resolve upwards to 3, and never the reverse.
Start by being able to play the 3 and b7, the tritone, of each of the 3 Dominant 7 chords; they will be located all 3 right next to each other on the same pair of strings. Because the tritone is the only interval that looks the same when inverted (3/b7 or b7/3), that means the IV chord’s tritone is DOWN one fret and the V chord’s tritone is UP one fret.
The tritones will also form a DIAGONAL LINE right across the fretboard (in at least 2 places).
Being able to “comp” (play backing chords) by being able to quickly locate these tritones all over the neck is the best way to be able to grab the absolute best 2 notes for each of the 3 Dominant 7 chords. Experiment with this and you will quickly see what I’m pointing out. Tritones rule!

This is really cool, first time ever I tried playing to a backing track and I really dig it.I can't believe I got right in there and made it sound good, relative to my limited experience.. Lucky I pretty much know the G major/minor pentatonic scales. Thanks a lot Sebbie. I'm gonna learn good with this. You're bookmarked now, be back for more.

    Pretty clever progression
First it's just a straight blues then the 2nd time going to the 4th you throw the sharp diminished passing chord subsequently walking from the 1st down to the 6th like in standard jazz swing progression and then you cut and paste the. Regular blues turnaround and a final touch of the walk 1st to the 6th and it all flowed together smoothly .
    Well done
