Hey man! amazing video! I have two questions, i don't know if you'd be able to answer: 1 - How do you deal with the famous QT gamma shift? 2 - if you have a project that's heavy in terms of VFX how is usually the workflow? cheers!
Excelent video! can you make one about developing a look without using quilifiers? Like analyzing how a it works this concept of "build a look" and how we have to interpret the global objective. My problem it’s that I keep to much time in every frame, and I’m sure that is because I work too much with separating tools (like power windows, quilifiers, magic mask, etc.). I thing that that’s the difference between a profesional and an amateur colorist. Those tools are made for correcting specific parts, and not for developing the entire look. Also it would be great if you can show some of a intire proyect manegement... how do you organize for reaching a color continuity for the hole thing
You can have a look at this video and use the same technique with other colours THE CLEANEST WAY To Grade Teal & Orange | Ozark Look | DaVinci Resolve Tutorial th-cam.com/video/SnqE7UtEErU/w-d-xo.html
I want to ask. What of footages filmed on a green screen. Do I need to first do the grading before sending it to a VFX ARTIST to key out the green screen? Or I can send it raw to the VFX
Thanks for the video bud. My issue is with exporting final work. The amazing colour within the timeline gets somewhat washed out or runs different when exported even in the best export settings. Is it that one can never get the exact colour thats on the timeline in the final export?
Try using a non-color managed video player such as VLC. DaVinci Resolve is a non-color managed NLE software, so the colors you see in the viewer is as correct as it gets. Quicktime is a color managed video player.
@@DannyGan Hmm, it's never been explained to me that way before, I will try playing it on VLC then. I'm sure I can download that from the apple store. Thanks for replying man! 👍
hey Danny. thank you so much man for these videos. I have been using Quicktime H.264 export for most of my clients, but recently somone asked for a high quality format, I chose DN*HR HQ because the DN*HR 10bit and 12 bit 444 made my footage high in exposure not a drastic change but you can see it, do you have any idea why did this happen?
Do we need to set the handles in export to be able to activate "show current clip with handles" in color page? It's a little strange not being able to activate that from the project configuration.
Thanks a lot for this videos. I needed it the most
Loving these tutorials! Thanks Danny

Grading first
debayer option is only for raw video clips (braw,cDNG,arri raw, 3rd, prores raw, etc.) , not needed for anything else other then raw
I guess so, then it seems safe to always have it checked
Correction: DNxHR is “High Resolution”, not “High Quality”

Not quite sure, but usually it has something to do with your colour management
Thank u👍

It is somewhere in the Preferences menu, I’ve set it to 50 frames
How can the editor deliver the files to the colorist, with the files still being in Log after editing?

What are your delivery settings for TH-cam?
Apparently TH-cam prefers H.265
