13:25, I've been trying to pinpoint this plant too, and I think it's an anthurium balaoanum. The more mature it gets, the more upright and ruffled the leaves. It's gorgeous and I'm tempted to get one too!

when you mentioned the A. Villenaorum i instantly thought of the same confusing plant! lol i see it at lowes alot, i developed quite a liking to anthuriums. i used to basically go monstera/philos mainly but anthuriums are a level of weird i dont get bored with. the cross breeding in sections, the extreme variety, and some really catch me like anthurium polyschistum. its easily amoung my top 5.

Wow!! Those are all such beautiful Anthuriums! I own only one Anthurium that I bought at the beginning of December. It's a clarinervium and it's beautiful. It's a baby but she has put out a couple leaves for me since I got it. Exciting lol. Great video! Thx!

Drea, you do such a nice job with your videos. Lots of examples and research. I really learn so much from you. Congratulations on a year with TH-cam. I would love to see how your plants are doing in your upstairs den.

Thank you so much! I still haven’t been able to find a plant stand I like to put the rhaphidophora tetrasperma on up there, so that plant is still downstairs but everyone else up there is doing fabulous💚

If you want a Delta Force be sure it is a true Delta Force, if they have same characteristics due to price do be sure it is the true thing. There are alot of similar plants that are lower priced. I got a Rainbow Anthurium I love it. The leaves come in dark almost black and fade to green over time. I do like to deal with plant shops that tell the names. So do be careful out there.

Great video! Love the ones you picked out! Just wanted to say that I think the one you showed for Luxurians is actually a Radicans X Luxurians! It’s a rare case of an anthurium reproducing across sections. They’re lovely plants and much cheaper than either of its parents haha The true Luxurians has a more heartleaf shape even as an immature plant and a darker green color that almost borders on bluish.

I was about to mention this! I want to add on as well: another way to tell a Luxurians from a Radicans is that the Lux's leaves tend to stand more upright and forward like the clarinervium, crystallinum, magnificum, etc. while the Rad are more clumped and close to the ground (I'll come back to this) like the dorayaki.
Another thing is, when you were wondering why the Rad is in it's own section, it's probably because the article you referred to was describing the pure Radicans, which is a crawler anthurium and is very hard to come by in the market. Most of the Rads are hybrids, and you can really see how strong the Lux parentage is when you see a picture of a pure rad. The rad being sterile is probably also because of its cross-section parentage

DocBlock is a Person btw, hes been crossing anthurium for ages and has soem of the most stunning and best bred anthurium creations out there!
I believe he created the zara, michelle, various crosses with them, and very interesting ones like the black widow!

I have been stockpiling Anthuriums since last year lol. I especially love the dark leaf ones. My favorite being the Papilliaminum and its hybrids. There are definitely ones from your list that I am going to put on mine. Thanks for sharing!

I believe the magnificum Verde also has green veins whereas the magnificum has silver more pronounced veins😉
Great research, it's much appreciated and interesting to watch, thanks 👍

My favs are the long strappy ones. You must not like those ones so much. My vittarifoliums newest leaf is just shy of 60 inches 💚

How can you differenciate villenaorum and besseae?

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Villenaorum is typically a longer shape leaf and the veining is different in appearance. Veins on a besseae look more similar to those on a crystallinum or even on a clarinervium (wish would could post pics in these comments so I could do a side by side comparison for you)💚

It can only be called a Delta Force if it is from the plants original producer

  • @amfy7616

The delta force is actually a hybrid of a pterodactyl and a clarinervium, thats why it looks different. Tho because of genetics there is a recombinantion in the first f generations.
    But those are different crosses.
Btw the delta force is ONE plant, not the cross name. So it its not retraceable to the og one ots not a true delta force ;)
