    The Baltic is definitely growing faster for me than my Cebu. The Brandi is definitely wonky it’s starting to get on my nerves, I would hands down prefer my exotica. My P&J and marble are pretty fast growers. I loved this comparison video🥰

      @@sandyheredia3027 No, the dragon tail is a Raphidaphora and the Baltic Blue is an Epipremnum but I see what you mean about it looking similar especially compared to a young dragon tail

    Many thanks for this interesting comparison video.. My Pearls and Jade was a slow grower her first year and picked up substantially her second year. We all love good growth, however, with good growth comes up-potting which takes up more real estate. 😊. My Baltic Blue came in a very full 6 inch pot in February of this year, 2022. In March there were a lot of roots coming out of everywhere in the growers pot. I repotted him in an 8 inch pot and he’s a beast now. 😵‍💫. I’m very happy and grateful for his growth but I don’t want a bunch of 10/12 inch pots in my home. 🤣. I’ve grown plants for a lot of years so naturally I have some larger pots. I’m fortunate to have a plant room but I find myself asking, “how many plants are too many?” The answer of course is that it depends on the person. 😊 This may be why I enjoy watching plant videos. I get to see a lot of beautiful plants in other homes. 🥰. Enjoying ALL your videos as well as your content! 👌🪴🥰

    I really love your videos! Very informative, and I like the emotion behind your choices, which I mostly agree with. The string of hearts looks fantastic with two in the pot, however I’ve seen them in the sparse look of a single plant and they look really great if they are in a small, beautiful pot.

    I bought a big cebu blue and a baby baltic blue. Since it was already established, the cebu blue grows like crazy. The Baltic blue has given me like two leaves over probably 4 months.
    Hated my Brandi. I bought a pretty big plant of that too, didn't like it, took a cutting and sold the big plant. Tried growing out the cutting, hated that too, and sold that one too. Exactly the same issue with the leaves getting stuck and just being small and deformed.
    And now I need a schismatoglottis! I like my Maria, but your schismatoglottis is gorgeous 😍

  • @jorlandia4363
    @jorlandia4363 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I agree with pretty much all your choices, although I would choose cebu blue over baltic. I dont mind it growing slower, I just really appreciate how a larger pot looks when they do finally grow out so I just see it as something to look forward to.
    My brandi is the same way and it drives me crazy, if I were to compare it looks wise to another plant I have I would say monstera siltepecana, and I would definitely choose the monstera over the brandi.

    My Alocasias dragon shield does the same thing!
    The peperomia watermelon does have a few curled leaves. When I worked at the greenhouse, one greenhouse had higher humidity than the other and they ALWAYS did better in the higher humidity. They don't like to dry out and also don't like drastic changes in temperatures or humidity!

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m working on an upcoming peperomia care guide and one of the biggest things I’m going to point out in it is the fact that so many people say to let them dry all the way out but that doesn’t actually work for most peperomia. Drives nuts when people say to do that.

    • @mydogmyplantsandme
      @mydogmyplantsandme ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlohaPlantLife no way! They need to stay moist! They can let them dry out if they want crispy leaves! 🍃 You're more than welcome to use any of my words in your video! It's always good to have people back up your info!

    We've owned a few peperomia plants and TBH we really aren't fans. The Watermelon peperomia was our worst mistake and purchase. Drama central and wonky growing leaves. I did read something about they are lacking a certain type of vitamin that causes the weird leaf formations, don't quote me but I'd recommend researching that area that I spoke about a bit more. Pothos, I have the marble Queen, the snow queen, the Baltic Blue, Brazil, the Cebu, the N'Joy and the neon and all them I absolutely love. I will add and absolutely agree, the Cebu is a slower grower.

    Lol when you picked up the first alocasia I said out loud "you ok?" to it 🤣
    I have my alocasia under a tall lamp so tend to grow pretty straight with any bending being a sign of thirst or a new leaf starting. The leaves do tend to be quite horizontal BC of the light being above, but I bought mine for their stems. I LOVE the Zebrina stem and the pink Dragon stems so so much! I love the Polly foliage but she's not a repurchase to me at this point... 🤷🏼‍♀️

    If I did read and understand correctly with Agleonema plants and regarding their flowers, is to cut them off because they can cause the new leaves to grow in smaller. We have 4 different Agleonema's and one of them has produced flowers, the other 2 have not.

    My Pearls and Jade pathos has hardly grown at all in 12 months. One would think it was an artificial plant. On the other hand I have two other pathos (sorry, lost the tags and don't remember what kind) and they both grow like wildfire. I wouldn't but the Jade and Pearls again either.

  • @MarisaAndChew

    I debated between Baltic Blue and scindapsus treubii moonlight and I ended up ordering the treubii. I feel like for the price, the Baltic Blue and Cebu Blue just look "green" in all their photos and the leaf shape isn't as appealing to me. I've been told they have the blue/silver tint but until the prices are lower on them or I see one in person and feel it's worth it I'm not sure I'll get them. I do like the Baltic more than the Cebu BC of the texture, the Cebu almost looks sick next to other plants on videos 🤷🏼‍♀️
    I personally don't compare my marble queen and my pearls and Jade BC they're so different, but if I had to pick between my pearls and Jade and my global green I think I would get the global green as it is growing really well for me. The pearls and Jade is always putting out new growth but with the smaller leaf size the size of the plant itself doesn't seem to increase.
    I don't have anything to compare to my monstera but I Guess that's because I chose her over the split leaves and rhaphidiphora tetrasperma. I don't have any fenestrations yet but that was a reason I wanted the monstera, each leaf is unique and the "mini monsteras" give a similar look but it's consistent and I love to see the changes 😍
    Love this video concept and your reasons for each choice!

      Check the roots and the soil type on that treubii as soon as you get it and don’t hesitate to repot it right away into better soil if it needs it and a smaller pot if it is in too big of a pot for the amount of roots it has. Of everyone I know who’s had one, it’s only the people who moved it into more appropriate soil right away that have managed to keep that plant alive. Most of them are being sold in like a 100% peat or coir soil which it not good for that plant.

      @@AlohaPlantLife thanks! I heard that yesterday too! My coffee plant is NOT DRYING and it was! I'm going to have to repot it today. So annoying that growers don't use the things that make the plants thrive. I feel like customers don't have the "black thumb" but the growers do, they set way too many ppl up to fail!

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarisaAndChew Precisly! They do it so they don’t have to water as often but they’re growing the plants in conditions where even in 100% peat the plants don’t take TOO long to dry out. Yesterday I had to try and remove as much peat soil as possible off an 8” plant without damaging the roots and repot it in more appropriate soil. Never. Again. It’s so hard trying to get all that peat soil off a plant that big 😩
