It worked! I replaced the screen by myself and the the touch id didn't work. I searched in TH-cam and found your video. I reconnect every thing again and it worked. Thanks a lot for helping me.
Abdul Alessa how easy is it to remove and repair the cable so that the Touch ID works. I am attempted to repair the cable for the home button so my Touch ID can work again
Thanks so much!! This was what I thought was wrong. I have a 6 plus and the home button and Touch ID didn’t work. The display is cracked so the flex cable that goes down the display has obviously been damaged. This was excellent. I looked everywhere for somebody who was going to fix it that way. Now I know that I just need a new screen! Thanks so much you saved me a lot of money. You earned a new subscriber. Great job keep up the videos!
This was a lifesaver! I replaced my screen by myself and was so worried I’d have to bring it in to Apple and get a whole new phone, but I fixed the Touch ID problem myself. Thank you!!!
Always disconnect battery after turning phone off. Then installed replacement and and connect battery. Don’t simply remove the broken screen and leave battery connected. I found this works. I think the screens are coded. Disconnecting the battery restarts / refreshes the code for the new screen. Not 100% sure this work all the time but have had some success with it.
I found your video because my iPad mini 4 With cellular is doing this, Recently I’ve had a lot of drama after a repair man at a store damaged my phone button well replacing a cracked screen, Long story short after a month without my mobility device I got back a damaged device and had to go to a different store & had to get the button replaced, now every several minutes it Activation required and go through the basic setup from a hello screen, is there a way to fix this issue or is it something that I will just have to put up with from now on?
Original apple LCD has a coding to your motherboard and Touch ID itself. In 6s the cable goes under the LCD that’s why it has a button port on the bottom. In SE/6 cable goes straight to the motherboard or is placed in the backlight metal thing. Of course you have to use ORIGINAL button. Replacing the screen by yourself will save you dollars but Touch ID in some models won’t work. Let me know if you have replaced 6s screen with the copy LCD (from ebay) and Touch ID worked!
I have this problem with a phone I just replaced the screen on and this solution was recommended, but they pointed out that if you remove the backer plate and flex cable from the old screen, you can transfer it to the new screen so you don't have to use a third screen necessarily. Great video though! Defi itely going to subscribe.
the home button the comes with your phone is mechanical synced by apple if you want to fix the problem remove the original button from broken screen and connect to new screen. this guy paused the video to do that and switched the button the played the video again with a new screen on and suddenly it works lmao. Knowledge is power people. My knowledge gives me the power to say this guy is not smart he just wants your views and thumbs up.
This just helped me so much ever since my dad replaced my screen basically every time my phone dies or I restart it the Touch ID stops my screen from working and I was wondering why it did that and this just solved my problem and I know what’s wrong with it now
First of all, that phone is not a 6S, it's just a 6, you can tell by the plate that is screwed over the screen flex cables - in the 6 there are 5 screws, in the 6S there are only 4. The first three "solutions" are absolutely pointless. Restart your phone, do a factory reset, check all the app icons on the screen are working. And is that a 5S screen protector just sitting in the middle of the screen?
I need help as I turn on my phone with the Touch ID my screen hits bring down the notifications and it’s not letting me use the home button to download apps or unlock my phone
DANGGGGGGGGG i literally just thought I had to press a few buttons but u opened up the phone and the person who fixed my phone didn’t give my old screen back and I’m sure they just threw it away 😭
If I change the home bottom for iphone 6 with another original home bottom, would it work or do I need to caliber or change the motherboard or any other parts of the phone? does anyone knows?
Nice video. I doubt my Touch ID will ever work again(?) I replaced the screen and the new screen works great. However this is my first time replacing a screen on a phone. The components are extremely small (I don’t know the asians build these things, lol). Anyway, on the iPhone 6P there are tiny components on Touch ID flex cable. Trying to get flex cable off of the old glass frame, I accidentally ripped a tiny capacitor and resistor off of the cable. They really are too tiny for me to put back on. I recently bought a microscope but I guess I need very special solder tools(?) So I’ll live without Touch ID until I get a new phone. Later I just peeled the cable off the glass after using a small amount of heat. Had I done that first, my Touch ID would probably be still working.
First had problem with not working touch ID after display replacement but now it works. Not knowing what I did first wrong though I re-used the orginal home button. Furhter, other hints regarding re-using the old metal cover of the display are a myth now. Its just about working very precise and make sure everything is proper connected I guess.
You need to get the LCD steel backplate off and transfer it to the other screen. An iPhone only has the Touch ID working when you have the original home button original motherboard and original LCD steel backplate assembled. Replacement of any of these components will result in the Touch ID not working
Hello, I just got my iphone 6s screen replaced and the button is not clicking like it normally does. It goes straight down and feels really soft. If you have any solutions let me know. Thanks
I have an iPhone 6, I put another screen on for a couple seconds, then turned it off and transferred the original screen with original home button and when I put it back on it’s unable to activate Touch ID on this device, I’ve tried rebooting and re connecting cables again and it’s still not working. 1 of the golden pins on the lcd cables is chipped and not there so does this explain why it’s not working?
Teigan Uptergrove no other option. I made the mistake of ordering the wrong color screen. I had a white one come in and forgot I had a black button. So I got creative and painted the housing really good , (or you can find one on eBay) and put it together. Now it has a silver platinum back, a white screen w a black button. Lol . As long as my Touch ID works. If you use a new one , you’ll never be able to utilize touch id
Hey guys, leave off the giant square plate over the connectors for the top of said phones like the iphone 6s plus because my screen it would crimp the touch sensor cable and hence no work so the only solution is to not have that top metal plate over the connectors and make sure your connectors are snapped in.
The problem with mine (iPhone 8 plus) is that after the last update (I think it was the last one) it hardly ever works now. Like it’s not as easy and I have to be putting in my passcode. Before the update it would easily work. Now just every now and then. Hardly ever! UGH! 😩😫 pleeeease someone help me! I can add more fingerprints but when I try it says to use another print. I’ve ran out of FINGERS! WTF??!! 😤😤
Я не понял , был заменён модуль дисплейный с тач скрином и просто переставили сканер Touch ID ?! А в чем была причина ?! Просто у меня такой же девайс и сканер то работает то нет . Устал ! Поначалу думал что прошивка
My Touch ID worked fine on the old aftermarket display and then on the new screen Touch ID won’t work but the home button does. It’s the original button.
7homas 0wen yeah, that’s the same with me, I spoke to a guy and he thinks the cable on the home button may have broken. The thing is in my case I don’t see anything wrong with it. I think it could be the ribbon on that aftermarket screen that may be faulty
Brandan Fiederlein nope. Just stated working out of no where after a while. Did restart it multiple times. Not sure. All I know is that it’s working fine at the moment.
Brandan Fiederlein yes. It was greyed out and it said “Touch ID failed” it started working after having the screen on for a few hours. Maybe like 2 hours I think. Tried restarting the phone? That may help.
Hi. Recently i did lcd replacement. I have restart and reset but touch id wont work. Maybe i did some damage to the extension ribbon on the metal plate. Does chnaging metal plate with the ribbon would fix my problem?
It can but they are attached to the screen. I just replace a different screen its cheaper that way for me as its less time consuming. Try to use the old screen again and see if it still works.
Hi. Just an update. So i fix my problem by changing the metal plate with the extension ribbon. It fix the problem. The old extension ribbon was damage during dissasemble process. Be extra cautious and dont use metal tools to pry the metal plate extension ribbon

no codes, but you can cause a short or blow a backlight filter. dont leave your battery connected, while working on any phone

What do we need to do if the old Home Button is Broken? How do we Do New home Button Setup with touch id.?
So the first replacement lcd is not compatible??
My Touch ID was still working after the replacement just started not to recently
What if you don't have the original Touch ID sensor/Home Button?
Is there any way that you can re-program the new home button?
dont think so
@@jdmaheshabraham yes unfortunately, thanks for the reply btw 😂
Great Video outlining the causes and troubleshooting. Wish I would have watched this 3 years ago!!! Great Job!
your solution is to have another spare replacement screen laying around ?
it’s funny how they just don’t press decline 😂
MysticGacha what do you mean?
Just A Couch there was a caller he kept closing the phone and not declining.
Will it work if I don’t have the original lcd but buy a new onw
New one works fine.
Great Video On iPhone Repair. It's nice to see a good POV to further my knowledge
How did this help tho why would we have kept the screens if they were broke
I have this problem with a phone I just replaced the screen on and this solution was recommended, but they pointed out that if you remove the backer plate and flex cable from the old screen, you can transfer it to the new screen so you don't have to use a third screen necessarily.

A DIFFERENT BACKPLATE MAKES NO DIFFERENCE TO TOUCH ID.

thanks for norhing

disasembly the screen again and play with the screws behind the home button...it seems the metal shild behind is loosen
first test it than assembly the screen again
kostandin mitre I will try that, Thank you.

Have u used the touch id sensor from old screen display and put it to the new screen display?
How do u use it
Yeah because that particular Touch ID sensor is registered with your Chip A9 and it will only work with it
That’s what he did 🤦🏽♂️
So I replaced my black cracked screen with a white one, I don’t want to use the black home button but do I have a different option?
Teigan Uptergrove no other option.

Nizzal Syafiq did you also changed the back metal plate with LCD replacement with that old home button??
Tej Ki Vines yup. I also change with the metal
When the only thing that works on your phone after replacing a broken screen is the ability to make a phone call, this video is useless.
Yeah, almost like that was not the subject of the video .... 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

my touch ID did not work just after an update of IOS
I have the same problem with my touch id i have taken it in twice already but they canot get it right
It's the metal plate with touch id flex.
Teshikajikato Shikachi r u saying using old plate will make touch screen work?

Sorry I can't speak Polish.
My old button and new button has touch I.D fail. Why? for iphone se
Same
Its false you have two phone here
So if the original screen is broken then you are fucked?
😊
this has obviously nothing to do with connectors or flex cables and has everything to do with the new homebutton not being calibrated with the logic board that contains your unique finger print to unlock the device.
That if you don't transfer the old home button over, which you should when replacinģ the screen.
ITJungles hey, I replaced a screen, I had disconnected the battery b4 doing so. Connected everything , and it has a passcode lock, and also says it can’t be activated through Touch ID . Is it definitely a connection problem ? Or do I have to factory reset it ? I checked connections over and over and they seem fine. It is the original home button
Ummmm no cuz now you screen is broke again??
I just replaced the Homebutton from the new screen with the old and it worked.
how much cost it takes if fingure print gone
