Brilliant if short video of the maiden city of my home town. Although I don't live in Belfast (I'm a country mouse who lives in a wee village in Co.Antrim called Broughshane) I do recognise all of the places you visited. To my everlasting shame I've never actually been inside the Titanic centre and agree it's a "must see" for anyone visiting the province. Interesting seeing the Nomadic as I remember when they first brought it to Belfast on a barge because it was in such a terrible run down condition it would never have made the trip! Fantastic restoration on it. So glad you and Alicja enjoyed your visit and I'm sure you'll agree that the people (and the guinness!) are unbeatable! Looking forward to seeing your next adventure wherever that may be! Absolutely love your videos guys!

Not sure if you did it, but if you ever make it back, the guided tour of the Titanic is so worth it of. The guide had everyone tearing up at the end of our tour. Also the causeway coastal drive is amazing.
Glad you enjoyed your whistle stop visit to Northern Ireland. More and more people from the rest of 🇬🇧 seem to be coming over these days. I’ve lived all around the UK but Belfast has to be the most underrated city we have, been living here 6 years now and still love it.
Always wanted to visit Belfast, never made it, my late husbands stepdad came from there, I could have listened to his Irish lilt for hours and the stories he used to tell! Now my son visits quite often and usually has a yarn or two to tell on return, it looks a lovely city, had to smile at the ‘Beware’ sign not very often I have seen so many on one sign, it amused Alicja anyway, The Docks + ‘Titanic’ exhibit looked very impressive, thanks again Steve for the wee educational tour! “👌” 🤗👋
Good morning Bernice. Wonderful video from Steve, I wish I had seen all the beautiful places Steve and Alicja have visited, at least the pub.👍 We were once in Belfast with the motorcycle and I "accidentally" ended up in a shopping mall during Sales Week. Primark did the deal of it's life with me and when I got back my husband asked me how we should put all those bags on the motorcycle. 🙄We managed it, where there's a will, there's a way.😅
@@GalwayGirl1 Good morning, I have been waiting for you, you never let me down! Wonderful video indeed, I can just imagine you on Hans’s motorcycle with all those ‘Primark’ packages 😃 have just comm. on ‘themusicsweetly’ Caitriona Balfe, the ‘Gracie Awards’ for best leading actress in “Outlander’ she made a lovely short speech, I’m waiting for the ‘Sam Heughan’ best leading Actor Award 🥇 now! 🥰🤗👋
Thanks so much both of you! Such a friendly city it was too, the people really do make it even more special :) and a real talent with those shopping bags Galway Girl! I'm sure that wasn't the first time ;)
@@steve-marsh I’m sure it wasn’t knowing my friend Galway, it’s amazing what you can secret about a motorcycle, I know we had one for years, before getting our first car 1970s. Panniers came in handy, until the day my dear hubby rode down an alleyway not wide enough to accommodate them! Look no ‘panniers’ I nearly died laughing 😂 that was the begging of a rollercoaster ride of over sixty years of fun 🤩 which passed all too quick! Until next time Steve 🤗👋
Been a while. Great footage guys. Did a day trip to Belfast few years back 👌 Lovely place. Please do visit Isle of Man, Steve & partner!! You have to check out the laxey wheel 👍
Great video Steve, brought back some memories of my visit to the city a couple of years ago. The Titanic is the best museum I have ever been in. I also went inside City Hall, it is really good inside with the history of the city.
Nice trip report A+! The food court looked fantastic. I'd be found on the "Dezurts Table". Traditional Irish Stew sounds very good. One source says mutton is used, the other says beef. Both say Guinness is a main ingredient. After a taste to confirm, I'd put down a pint of that with no problem. Big time meal upgrade from Beans and Toast. Nice job with "beware deep water" "No jumping shallow water" signs. Now I can visually understand what Alicja zigged zagged through (the rusty letters from last video too) it says Titanic! Yep, that is one of the solved mysteries of the day. Awesome Titanic and Nomadic Tour! Nice job in the pub too. Take Care!
Cheers Frank! That stew will live long in our memory, I'd love to try recreate it at home, but maybe we'll wait till our next visit to Belfast! Such a friendly city too :)
in march i was a part of a group tour of ireland. we had a couple of days scheduled in belfast. i did not know what to expect as this city seemed under the radar since its era of the troubles. i was pleasantly surprised at what an engaging city belfast is. beautiful architecture, clean streets, friendly locals. not too big, not too small in size. it is so underrated and needs a rebranding. the highlight was being there on st. patrick’s day for their parade.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to my home city. Just for the record, RMS Titanic was launched the old fashioned way -down a slipway, not from a dry dock. The Thompson Graving (Dry) dock was built specially so big liners like her would fit when they needed work done on the hull.
Could you stop going to new places as my itinerary does not match my vacation days and pocketbook already? 😂 Just a joke, you are both so fun to watch and I really enjoy these little journeys. Thank you!
I watched your excellent video again, Steve. You are very good at making them. Watching it gave me another idea for a video which you might like. How about making a video inside the City Art Centre in Edinburgh. It is a great place for viewing historical pictures/paintings of ancient Edinburgh. I remember one of the old city when it only sat on its rock & looked more like a small town. I remember another picture of Edinburgh separated from Leith by fields & countryside. I think you & Alicja might like that Gallery if you don't already know it. Maybe you could incorporate the "Martin Creed Work No. 1059: A Commision for the Scotsman Steps Edinburgh 2011" which is just east of the CAC. I remember once after walking for hours around our beautiful capital city, how I was pleased to be able to descend the marble stairs of MC & then enter the side entrance to Waverley Station, which I crossed by its high walkway in order to take the elevator up to Princes St, in order to reach the bus station.
@@steve-marsh I have acted similarly, Steve. I went to London at the age of 23, without hardly knowing the area which surrounded Ayr. where I grew up. I returned to Ayr when I was 39, & it was only from about that time that I thoroughly explored what was under my nose, so to speak, & I found that Ayrshire & the Clyde area, ++ were very interesting indeed. I think many who visit Scotland probably mainly go north of Glasgow. But maybe for one of your videos you could motor down the Clyde from Glasgow, on the south bank. I think you & Alicja would like that, but you have to do it under Blue Skies & Sun, like you do. The scenery is very beautiful. I like Lunderston bay. There is a very scenic walk which can be taken from a Garden centre ( whose name I can't remember) & which takes you to Inverkip, further down the Clyde. I believe the Cloche Lighthouse would be interesting to you, for you who likes lighthouses. I have a bumper crop of apples this year. Would you care for a few bags?
enjoyed that video, Belfast looks a great place to visit. Went to the Titanic exhibition in Las Vegas a few years ago where they do have artifacts and a piece of the hull, my wife and I were the only people in there!
My partner also visited the Titanic exhibition in Las Vegas in 2013. We hoped one day to visit Titanic Belfast, but with great pain and sorrow my partner passed away from cancer in 2017. I still hold a hope that one day I might visit as a kind of pilgrimage in her honour, and because I have a family link to Titanic via Frederick Fleet the lookout. He was my 3rd cousin 1x removed on my fathers side. Coincidently, when my maternal grandparents split, my grandmother married a Frederick Fleet.
@Bodneyblue so sorry to hear it, but it sure would be a wonderful pilgrimage for you! And what an awesome connection to the Titanic you have! All the best :)
@@steve-marsh Thank You Steve. I watch YT videos as a way to distract me. With out friends and family to help me cope with my loss it has been very tough.
@@Bodneyblue sorry for your loss, you must go to both places, Belfast the birth of Titanic and Vegas to see the items recovered its quite spiritual at the Vegas museum not tacky as you may have thought
Another winner of a video. with regard to the drinking competition I noticed that Alicja's pint was short measured compared to yours so thats probably how she beat you. Have only passed through Belfast when travelling on business many years ago so it requires another better visit. Once again another FAB video.
I do like this couple! My first experience of Steve's videos was his flight to Barra, and I've been a fan ever since, because there's always little snippets of interest without the silly waffle I've see on most others. A pity this particular video was so short, as I was born and raised in sight of H&W's famous slipways, and I enjoy hearing visitors' comments on their trip. So here's a tip for Steve and Charley: If you ever get to Belfast again, take a walk past the Titanic Centre, towards and past the Titanic ("Game of Thrones") Studio and next left to visit HMS Caroline, the last remaining warship (Light Cruiser) from the Battle of Jutland, berthed beside the original Titanic Pumphouse and dry dock, and on your way back to the entrance, a short walk to the retored, unique Great Light that used to guide shipping into the Belfast Lough. From there, it's about a 300-400 yards walk over the wide foot & cycle Weir Bridge into the heart of the City. Sadly NI is no longer my home, although I'd go back tomorrow if I could! Great videos you two! Nice, clear commentaries, from a fun-loving couple.
Thanks so much Reg from the two of us! And for the great local information - we can't wait to get back and give Northern Ireland a proper shot! :) All the best to you!
@@steve-marsh Thank you Steve. Check out my YT vid "Titanic Quarter Tour by motorcycle," but if you do, watch out for some Belfast humour on the last frame!!
I've been looking forward to this since your "ferry comparison" video, and it didn't disappoint. What a wonderful city, that's risen out of the "troubles" we remember so sadly. Let's hope the Brexit politicians don't mess things up again! I'm sure you're already aware that you can never underestimate the Polish capacity for the absorption of alcoholic beverages...I found that their own "Porter" beer is quite a potent brew. I visited the city twice in 1962 with my parents, passing through to and from an unforgettable holiday in Rathmullen, Donegal. Driving into Belfast after our early morning flight from London the H&W cranes were the dominant sight in the city, and the shipyard was still operating then, I believe. Our journey to Derry was by steam - hauled train, and I remember being astonished and unable to do real justice to the size and variety of the Irish breakfast served up in the restaurant car! The "Titanic" museum looked amazing. The story has fascinated me from boyhood, long before the film was made. I had a model boat which I sailed on the fishpond in our garden. There was something wrong with its buoyancy and it frequently sank to the bottom of the pond, when I had to call for help in salvage operations. My Mum got so exasperated with this that one day she said "I'm going to call your boat 'Titanic''". When I asked why, she began to tell me the sad story. She was seven and a half years old at the time of the tragedy, and the memory of the great stir it caused in the country, the first disturbance in the "pomp & circumstance" mood of comfortable Edwardian self-satisfaction, had always stayed with her.Two years later her older stepbrothers went away to fight in the 1914-18 War, which changed the world for ever.
I can't even imagine what it would have been like to live through those times, we think we have it tough now! And these days I can't even imagine the news of such a tragedy with details arriving so slowly, nowadays we have all the news instantly. Changed times indeed! Would have loved to see the ports like Belfast and Glasgow when shipbuilding was still a thing in this country, but I guess working there wouldn't have been such a pleasure. They sure had the skills to build beautiful boats though! And then for one to be lost so soon after launch!
Cracking stuff! My only complaint is that the video was so short. Actually I'd also like to complain that I don't have an Irish Stew to eat right now :D
HI Steve, the hill you were looking at is known locally as Napoleon's Nose. The profile looks like Napoleon lying on his back, starting from right to left to right, is his hand, then his chin and nose and finally his hat. Take another look. Thanks for visiting.
The thing you were eating at the start is called Shepard’s pie and everyone in Northern Ireland has probably consumed it in their life it is cheap quick and nice to eat I love the food personally

Thanks so much Ryan! Oh Donegal, so near yet so far, we can't wait to come back and give it a proper shot when we have the time. I know already how much we'll fall in love with Donegal! Do you think it would be easy for us to find overnight parking for the van? I don't want to annoy the locals, but we'd love to open our doors in the morning to the wonderful scenery!
@@steve-marsh sorry for the late reply. Oh aye yous will be fine. Maybe chech out Visit Donegal and Visit Inishowen they'll better information first to see what they recommend and take it from there. But yous will find an over night stay no bother with the van...
Great video here! Was there on a day trip and saw even less than you did!
Thanks for showing more of the city!
I think you and us both need a trip back there eh!?
@@steve-marsh Aye, definitely!
Wonderful video Steve... I have been there but was working so had little time to visit too many places.... Had a great time though... You do know how to spoil a Lady..... Stew AND a Pizza..... lol.... Take care and please keep posting..... :-)))
She knows how lucky she is :D Yeah, I feel like we didn't do the place justice at all, we need to go back for a proper look :)
@@steve-marsh I think your list is getting longer by the day.... I like the way you film things and show the good and the bad... Excellent work... :-))))
Not sure if you did it, but if you ever make it back, the guided tour of the Titanic is so worth it of. The guide had everyone tearing up at the end of our tour. Also the causeway coastal drive is amazing.
Cheers for that glimpse of Belfast Steve!
Thanks for watching Paul - sorry it wasn't longer, we have so much still to see!
@@steve-marsh No worries Steve. As you said, you'll have to go back and spend more time (and try out that high speed ferry)!
Thanks for such a positive vision of my home town. 🥰
You are the friendliest people anywhere!
That was a great wee look. Glad you put it up Steve.
Cheers Peter! It was tough to make even this from my clips! :)
Glad you enjoyed your whistle stop visit to Northern Ireland. More and more people from the rest of 🇬🇧 seem to be coming over these days. I’ve lived all around the UK but Belfast has to be the most underrated city we have, been living here 6 years now and still love it.
We really need to come back and give it the time it deserves!
You missed so much but glad you enjoyed it...so, come back soon!
So very true on both counts!
Thanks for posting. Loved it and your own inimitable style.
Wow, thank you so much! :)
Nice! I've always wanted to visit Belfast!
And we need to go back, so much to explore over there we didn't scratch the surface!
Been a while.
Great footage guys.
Did a day trip to Belfast few years back 👌
Lovely place.
Please do visit Isle of Man, Steve & partner!!
You have to check out the laxey wheel 👍
You wouldn't believe I was just checking prices :D
MANY THANKS FOR SHARING BELFAST SHORT TRIP VIDEO. WE LOVED IT WOMDERFUL LOCATION AND REALLY LOTS TO EXPLORE IN BELFAST ONEDAY WE WILL VISIT THERE.
Cheers Harry! An absolute pleasure to show you round on our all-too-brief visit! :)
Glad you enjoyed your trip here in Belfast. Great video as always Steve.
What a place David! So friendly!
Great video Steve, brought back some memories of my visit to the city a couple of years ago. The Titanic is the best museum I have ever been in. I also went inside City Hall, it is really good inside with the history of the city.
Oh Daz, we need to go back - barely scratched the surface!
Waving and watching from Belfast. Great video!
Hello there Ann! :)
I know so little about what modern-day Belfast looks like, so really enjoyed your brief tour, Steve.
Thanks Sue! Such a fleeting visit, but many reasons to return and give it a proper shot!
Thanks Steve. I enjoyed it very much again. Keep going.
Thanks so much Henk!
That was good Steve. You have encouraged me to think about visiting Ireland. Thanks for that.
Oh I couldn't recommend it more! :)
Another interesting video from this, one of my favorite You Tube channels.
Jeff thanks so much!!! Super-appreciated :)
Thanks for the tour very enjoyable, take care and stay safe, cheers.
Cheers for watching Simon, sorry it was so short!
There is a lot to see in Belfast and Northern Ireland, I was there for two weeks and didn't see anything like all of it.
Bob so true - we can't wait to get back there!
Hi 👋 both as I commented on a video clip weeks ago Ireland is a wonderful place
Great time to visit! And hard to disagree with anything you say!
Great video Steve definitely need it to visit thanks
Cheers mate!
So enjoyed this short video, wished it could have been longer. A place I'd love to go, maybe one day. Till next one thanks.😍
Oh us too Margaret! We could easily spend a week there and still not scratch the surface!
Thanks for the snipit of Belfast Steve looks great. Cheers.
I just wish we could have stayed longer and brought you more adventures!
Enjoyed this Steve … and loved the ‘wee dugs’ at your B&B
Thanks so much for coming along on our brief visit to a wonderful city!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to my home city. Just for the record, RMS Titanic was launched the old fashioned way -down a slipway, not from a dry dock. The Thompson Graving (Dry) dock was built specially so big liners like her would fit when they needed work done on the hull.
Thanks so much fro the info :) Wonderful city, need to return!
Could you stop going to new places as my itinerary does not match my vacation days and pocketbook already? 😂 Just a joke, you are both so fun to watch and I really enjoy these little journeys. Thank you!
Thanks Kirsten :) It's like us too - the only thing that dragged us back home was work! :(
At 3:29, no warning about the attack swans??
We don't need a sign to keep our distance from those lads :D
Another great video Steve.
Thanks again Chris!
Always great! Thanks Steve!
Cheers Luca!
Great idea Robert - shamefully I've never even been there! Sounds like it's well worth a visit!
Wow - would love to see that! :)
Now I have to plan a visit to Belfast. So little time for all of us, Steve!!!
So true Sir!
Another winner of a video. with regard to the drinking competition I noticed that Alicja's pint was short measured compared to yours so thats probably how she beat you. Have only passed through Belfast when travelling on business many years ago so it requires another better visit.
Once again another FAB video.
Cheers Gavin! Nah, no excuses, she beat me hands-down! :)
So here's a tip for Steve and Charley:
If you ever get to Belfast again, take a walk past the Titanic Centre, towards and past the Titanic ("Game of Thrones") Studio and next left to visit HMS Caroline, the last remaining warship (Light Cruiser) from the Battle of Jutland, berthed beside the original Titanic Pumphouse and dry dock, and on your way back to the entrance, a short walk to the retored, unique Great Light that used to guide shipping into the Belfast Lough.
Hi great video and footage very nice indeed of my part of the world thanks for sharing cheers 👍
Thanks so much! Wonderful place!
Really appreciate the Titanic effort that must go into producing these videos
Wonderful Chris! :D
I need to have a proper Belfast visit. I caught ferry from there last month but didn't look around Belfast
Oh us too Clare! We barely scratched the surface!
Haha it was too short for us as well! But we have the memory of that incredible stew ;)
No 'Black Cab' trips?
Wattabout Castle Street?
We need to get back soon!
HI Steve, the hill you were looking at is known locally as Napoleon's Nose. The profile looks like Napoleon lying on his back, starting from right to left to right, is his hand, then his chin and nose and finally his hat. Take another look. Thanks for visiting.
That's so cool Charles - I'll never un-see that now :)
Really good bus service too. Train to the coast and beaches 20 mins. Botanic Gardens and area around Nice bars and restaurants
Awesome. I have so many good memories of Belfast. 👍
Such a friendly place, that's what we really took from it :)
Awesome again Steve...
Glad you enjoyed it mate!
Did you go to TITANIc ship yard after its just up the road
The thing you were eating at the start is called Shepard’s pie and everyone in Northern Ireland has probably consumed it in their life it is cheap quick and nice to eat I love the food personally
Hello again Steve & girl friend ( I forgot her name 🤭, sorry) watching from Irvine, I enjoyed that, my daughter was over @ Belfast last month & enjoyed it too 😆😆
Thanks Grace, and so glad she enjoyed it, Steve & Alicja
definitely on my places to visit as ive never been to Belfast unlike the wife who has been lots of times whilst following the Edinburgh Capitals v Belfast Giants
the yellow building when you look out of the window is the old paint store, they filmed the inside scenes of game of thrones there
Cheers for the awesome info Gary!
Went to Belfast to see the Tall Ships and went with Dodds coach tours from Ayr. A bargain price ! Titanic exhibition wasn't built back then.
