I remembered the restaurant in St. Barths. Pipiri Palace !! Fantastic food. We ate there several times. It is in a miniature tropical forest. They have fish in a banana leaf and grilled lobster. Chateau -Briand is out of this world.
A special greeting from Sweden 🇸🇪 Saint-Barthélemy is a French island in the Caribbean. 1784-1878 the island was a Swedish colony, after which it was sold back to France. The Swedish heritage on the island consists of the naming of towns and streets. Välkommen!
Good to see a hanked on staysail. I remember when all foresails were like that. 2.00am and the helms person would call for a sail change. On your knees with green water coming over the bow hanking on a smaller sail, happy days? Only in my deams, keep up the good work 👍
Nice video! Brady from Delos had an interesting episode with Barry the Barracuda! He was feeding it for a week, without thinking caught a fish, cleaned it and washed it in the sea! Barry the Barracuda came out from under the boat and ripped into the fish fillet & into Brady's hand! Next came a hospital visit with lots of stitches! So be very careful around Barracuda
This and your last video brought back some great memories of our last sail in the area having visited both Ile Fourchue and Anse a Colombier, both great anchorages. Sorry that my story left such a lasting impression and causing you to second guess jumping in when there are Barracudas lurking. ... Keep the great content coming, signing off until next week's video .... Ciao, Terry '9 Fingers'
Have you read the First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie? The main character is Logen Ninefingers, known as The Bloody-Nine. He’s a Northman with a bloody and dark path, who strives to turn from the path of violence he has followed for so long. Good read!!
How about putting some kind of slightly conical thing on the bottom under where the chain enters? That way the chain *should* spread out more and not build. I suppose that it should not be a cone all the way down as that actually would *help* it build.
Yeah i'm with you on the ''plane spotting' subject Adam ...... as an aviator there's nothing like a seat of your pants approach ..... assumimg you keep said pants 'clean' ... ha ...ha ..
... laughing ... it is a boat, there is always something, think you can attest to that ..... what a beat of a plce to get back in the water .. minus the barracuda ... all I've heard, the Lion Fish is really not bad eating ... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans .....
I have a problem. I found your channel around Ep.100 and started from the beginning, watching about 5 per week. I am caught up now and have had to wait A WHOLE WEEK! for a new episode. It would be great if you could put out about 3 a week to keep me entertained. 🤣 Seriously love the channel, and I am on pins and needles for the next episode. Thanks guys!
In the 90’s I used to go to that bay near Gustavia a lot when I was a skipper for a teenage sailing camp. At that time there were a lot of feral peacocks wandering around on shore. Early mornings they would howl and sounded just like a kid yelling “helllp!!” Made for some jarring wake-ups.
Just watching your anchor chain issue, I fixed this by putting a small cone (road cone is too big but you can get the ones they use for training on sports fields) in the bottom of locker, it allows the chain to fall around the base, try and get the point under your houser pipe. Good luck, loving your upgrades and the way you keep it real.
I flew into St Barth’s on one of those little planes almost forty years ago. There was a statue of a saint with his hand raised in blessing just at the point where the plane dives down to flare and land. That dive was an unforgettably scary moment. We stayed in the house at Anse de Colombier with friends who were family of the owner. What a spectacular place to swim and dive.
You two are always such a joy to follow on your cute and exciting sailing adventures. Adam, The Plane Spotter, his pirate name. Not as groovy as Terry Nine Fingers, but still. LOL! Stay groovy and stay safe.
Nice sail trim @6:46. Nice to see Millie rolling along with a bone in her teeth. Thanks for another wonderful video. I had a code zero type sail and furler (Doyle UPS) on my old boat which is about a 60% girth and similar to a160% genoa. For 40 to 100 AWA you could have 10 to 12 kts true and make 5.5 without motoring. I've got a new modified code zero for my V42 but haven't used it yet as I'm still rewiring and replumbing the boat. Any plans for a close or reaching light air sail in your future? Keen to know what the issue was with the charging system.
Years ago, while at anchor, live on camera, Brady was cleaning a fish on the back of the boat and a Barracuda grabbed his hand and he ended up needing a rescue boat to come out if I remember. Might have been 10 years ago in the Indian ?
I love to watch planes come in & take off! Evidently, we aren’t the only ones because I just read something about Atlanta airport building some kind of “Events Center” with a Restaurant & Bar that are located basically “on” the runway. (I read something about the land that was used being land that they “took” by eminent domain around 50 years ago when it was a residential neighborhood. Some of the streets, driveways and curbs are still there too.) I think you have to have a membership or dinner reservations to even go watch now….😢
Since y’all are headed south, you really should think about a stop in Dominica. I had family that was there for a few years and it’s a beautiful island. They filmed a couple of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies there. If you go, stop and take a day trip to Screws Spa (a man made natural hot springs spa) that is in/near the rain forest. Wonderful day trip for sure. Would make a great episode.
The water looks amazing, I miss it!!! Enjoy and hopefully hurricane season isn't too much on the path you're taking. So far so good in Florida but we're always checking the weather like good sailors!!! Have fun and enjoy your adventures. 😍🤗
It's alright, sometimes the best plan is no plan at all, it is truly the only way things can be spontaneous... keep up the beautiful work. The barracuda reminds me of an old song and the way it starts is almost a stuttering of the word barracuda as if suddenly face to face with one.
Adam - Here's your official being backed up. Kiara - "Plane spotting" is a highly encouraged behavior when the planes lose their minds and land 3 feet over your head! :) You guys are too cute together!
To avoid the "Mr Whippy" in the chain locker, you might want to consider installing a small to medium sized road cone directly under the hawse (if you can find one that needs "liberating" of course). This causes the falling chain to disperse more widely around the base of the cone, creating a much wider pile and reducing the potential for jams at the hawse. Theoretically! :-
Seeing that guy duck when the plane came in too close for comfort brings to mind the guy standing on the platform on the water in the movie "Catch 22"...
When i lived on Cocos Keeling Island, The local Malays told us they were more worried about barracuda than sharks, They are so fast that you just don't see them coming.
I would like to formally welcome you Adam in to the plane spotters secret guild. You will soon be receiving your invisible Von Brouchters nickel to verify your membership to other members. Also if plane spotting is just not quite enough adventure I invite you to try the incredible world of tree tracking. Very exciting indeed!
St Barts Best airplane watching ever. Yes you gave to watch from the top. You have the Baggett a little Brie and a bottle of wine on a Friday afternoon. Turley frightening.
I can't wait to get to the area. I am in Florida and leaving soon. My aim is the lesser Antilles. I hope to run into you guys and buy you a great dinner. There used to be a great restaurant in St. Barts. I will contact you before I leave Florida in case there is something you require. I have got my Bruce Roberts 31 looking spiffy.
Come on!...You gotta tell the non-UK/Commonwealth folks what a Mr. Whippy cone is...hint...it's a "soft serve" ice cream cone in the States. (I think...I dunno...too many years living with a Brit) :-))))
a question for the next QandA...what watch Adam has and why, what is the story behind? Because men either have a really expensive watch, or a watch with a good story.
Nope. That is the definition of plane spotting.... I was on the deck of a ferry to Belfast with a bunch of bird watchers. Very odd sort. They were looking at some birds sitting on the sea and grumbling how common they were. Meanwhile along the side of the ferry was about 8 km x 100 meters of jellyfish, millions of 'em. I mentioned this to the bird watchers. One of 'em grunted, but not one of them could be bothered to look slightly to their side and down at the jellys!
Nope, Adam. . She is right. If it’s looking at planes…it’s planespotting. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Embrace the awesomeness of the other craft that uses lift😎
Having watched you guys for a long time now, and given that you are almost always addressing problems that could be construed as beyond the scope of regular wear and tear maintenance, I have to ask: what is the realistic life expectancy of the Falcon without a massively expensive overhaul?
the boat you have is the boat you have. its not an economic decision. there are two types of issues on a boat - a problem and an expense. an expense you throw money at before it becomes a problem at sea. because a problem will kill you regardless of your net worth..
Have you's seen Death in Paradise? It is filmed in Guadeloupe, a small town called Deshaies seems to have nice harbor and a great bar Le Madres( LaKaz). really good show.
In all fairness there is a certain exhilaration experienced when a large flying body comes soaring in right above/at you. People actually gather at some airport runways to see/feel the experience. It's awesome especially with huge planes. Kind of like playing with danger.
anyone else try and spot ninefingers on the patron credits? :P also what a huge plane spotting nerd! though it is a fantastic spot and would be awesome to see a shot from there.
If there was one place where they would love for lion fish to not exist it would be a Marine Reserve. That said, yes, enforcement people would need to be a gold plated permit for you to get even lion fish there.
I remembered the restaurant in St. Barths. Pipiri Palace !! Fantastic food. We ate there several times. It is in a miniature tropical forest. They have fish in a banana leaf and grilled lobster. Chateau -Briand is out of this world.
Best sailing channel ever. Your smiles and laughs are contagious!
A special greeting from Sweden 🇸🇪

Lady, I love your voice and sense of everything. Perfect mate. Oh, and downstairs on a boat is 'below'...grin
Plane spotting, especially in St Martin / St Barth, is a noble activity! Even (especially) for pilots.
Sailed St Barth last year. Diving was incredible.... we did go watch the planes land! ✔

Great to see Khiara & Adam having fun- despite things don't always go as planned! Nice to see the Teak Decks are gone.., Safe Sailing! ⛵

My goodness plane spotting I tell ya! I do love the way the two of you have with one another. I do wish you the best in the world.

Always wanted to take that ride.
Sounds like you had a great time!
Better a plane spotter than a plain spotter any day of the week.
You two are always such a joy to follow on your cute and exciting sailing adventures. Adam, The Plane Spotter, his pirate name. Not as groovy as Terry Nine Fingers, but still. LOL! Stay groovy and stay safe.
St Barts low approach aircraft observing IS all the go. Big on my list of must do’s once I’m unbolted from the dock and start moving around.

Millie looks really good with your “boat load” of improvements! Fun to see you putting Millie thru the paces.
Adam, the plane-spotter, making fun of the foamers. What a legend.
Khiara, a Hi-C is a drink they sell in America ! Ha And, I've never been plane spotting but, I have been cow tipping !
Adam, you sailed in the UK during your course, unless it's purple (or white) go SAILING!
Your sailing joy is such a delight.
3:15 from launcheston! as a canuck who has been there i don't remember a train service in Tazzy. 🙃
All the most exciting things in one episode! And it's so wonderful when you guys dive in the tropical waters. Great drone shots too 🌺
Years ago, while at anchor, live on camera, Brady was cleaning a fish on the back of the boat and a Barracuda grabbed his hand and he ended up needing a rescue boat to come out if I remember. Might have been 10 years ago in the Indian ?
Brady was always getting bit by something lol.
I got your back Adam, I would have wanted to see the planes as well
I used to be a Royal Navy diver. We were cognisant of sharks but we were ALL very scared of barras.
I love to watch planes come in & take off! That baguette must have been marvelous 🥰
Plane spotting would be a great shot!
Enjoy short sail on your sailboat ⛵️! Teak decks looks good gone ! 😘⛵️😀 Mike from Missouri
Good see teak deck gone ! Beautiful ocean color of water! Enjoy short cruising on sailboat ⛵️! 😘⛵️😀 Mike from Missouri
I would LOVE to watch those planes overhead !
It's alright, sometimes the best plan is no plan at all, it is truly the only way things can be spontaneous... keep up the beautiful work. The barracuda reminds me of an old song and the way it starts is almost a stuttering of the word barracuda as if suddenly face to face with one.
Glad I’m not the only one with a shallow anchor locker. A pain pulling the chain out of the way 📿
Great video
Looks like the boat is hobby horsing though.
Adam - Here's your official being backed up. Kiara - "Plane spotting" is a highly encouraged behavior when the planes lose their minds and land 3 feet over your head! :) You guys are too cute together!
I liked the "plane spotting too"
I love plane spotting!
I cannot really say how inspirational you two self proclaimed millennial's are to this member of a quite older generation - well done
To avoid the "Mr Whippy" in the chain locker, you might want to consider installing a small to medium sized road cone directly under the hawse (if you can find one that needs "liberating" of course).

So fun to watch you two. You always put a great big smile on my face. Thanks!
Your videos make my day! Fresh energy and cute water turtles - thank you both so much ♥
Seeing that guy duck when the plane came in too close for comfort brings to mind the guy standing on the platform on the water in the movie "Catch 22"...
When i lived on Cocos Keeling Island, The local Malays told us they were more worried about barracuda than sharks, They are so fast that you just don't see them coming.
You both have such great attitudes, never give up and keep on smiling 😁

That's crazy how low the air craft come in , you stand long enough the wheel of the air craft will leave skid mark on your scalp.
Mille looked so good in that last shot as you arrived back at the boat. Ha ha, nice tease on the plane spotting:-)
One of the problems with double Enders
Plane spotting. Adam you are on your own mate.
16:33 I'm backing you up! Sorry Khiara...🤣
St Barts Best airplane watching ever. Yes you gave to watch from the top. You have the Baggett a little Brie and a bottle of wine on a Friday afternoon. Turley frightening.
Love the channel guys. Quick question… do you think a cruiser needs a printer on board please?
Yes ! We use a small HP Wi-Fi and blue tooth hookup… it’s used a few times a month.
Plane spotting at St Bart's! So jealous.
Sailing Millennial Falcon > SMF > So Much Fun
I'm with Adam. Love plane-spotting.
Hay don't diss plane spotting, I love spending and hour watching planes land
It’s plane spotting!
I can't wait to get to the area. I am in Florida and leaving soon. My aim is the lesser Antilles. I hope to run into you guys and buy you a great dinner. nope sorry mate, that is defo "plane spotting"! Although I'm with you about the cool photo opportunity! Keep them coming guys, love your work.
there isn't a 3:15 from Longceton, it's the 2:45 you're thinking of :-)
According to the “N” “O” “A” “A” 😜. We say it like “Noah”.
a question for the next QandA...what watch Adam has and why, what is the story behind? Because men either have a really expensive watch, or a watch with a good story.
gotta love those ginger babes, been married to one for 55 years, they are way smarter than us blokes so listen up and take heed lad !!!!
I hope so much to visit these places in the future.
Essential to wear an anorak if train or plane spotting
Plane spotting is when you care what the tail number is. If you don't care then you are just watching planes.
Good to see you’re back😊🇦🇺🇦🇺
It is plane-spotting!
Hmm…is that Starlink I noticed on deck? Don’t remember you guys mentioning that before.
Beautiful sailboat.

I remember back when it was all about propeller shafts and sunglasses casualties
my version of plane spotting would be, oh look here comes tail number 80085
Nope, Adam. . She is right. If it’s looking at planes…it’s planespotting.
It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Embrace the awesomeness of the other craft that uses lift😎
PS…waiting to hear the rest of the story on the alternator. We went APS/Wakespeed over brand “e.” 🤞
Nothing wrong with plane spotting in st. Barts!!
PLANE SPOTTING!! 😄

Millennia, it's in the name.
I'm with Adam on the plane spotting. Just video others almost getting killed!
You guys make my day when you post. Have a great adventure.
If you stop on the western shore of Guadelope, try to stop in Deshaies where they film the BBC series "Death in Paradise".
Adam, the 3.15 from where? Hahaha! Awesome. Lee
I will be so excited to come with and watch planes land
Mate your boat is strong enough to complete the cape without a motor.
(Not that I would try it 😁)
Interested to see how your staysail worked and it’s benefits, have you detailed that in a previous video? Starlink up and running yet. Have fun 👍
Have you's seen Death in Paradise? It is filmed in Guadeloupe, a small town called Deshaies seems to have nice harbor and a great bar Le Madres( LaKaz). really good show.
Love that show, I PVR it
She’s right, It’s plane spotting!

Hurricanes in the Atlantic, Cyclones in the Pacific.
Just saying! Just like we have lines and not ropes.
You just Ed showed where you are from.
