Fallout humor is lost on you if you think the satirical element of it only pokes at capitalism. It tickles the toes of all forms of Political movements and social economic backgrounds.
You know what bothers me about Fallout, even in the games? It's been 200 years, and the vault dwellers still speak perfect English. Sure, they were in stasis for those 200 years, but what about the surface people? Do they still speak English too? It doesn't make sense. Two centuries is enough time for language to evolve significantly. Vault dwellers and surface people should struggle to understand each other. Their customs and traditions styles should differ greatly as well. What is considered formal now would likely seem bizarre to surface people. There are some indications of differing cultures. See the tribals in Fallout 2, New Vegas and so on. In bith games, they are hunted down by slavers or have significant communication problems with outsiders. Or how basically every city has developed their own traditions.
