I love the honesty and no bs approach you took to this product. I watched a lot of videos about this product and they were all "This is great!" or "heres all the cool things you can do". This is the first video that didnt sugarcoat the product, and that is what consumers need before they spend this kind of money. Thank you!
I think these will be perfect for me and other dads out there. The living room projector usually has something for the kids on it, and isolating myself in the game room on a console or VR headset isn't ideal. With these, I could still enjoy my content (watch videos or use remote play) while being available and in the same room as my family. Also seems perfect for travel, when I'm away from home with my Steam Deck!
You're right - so close :) My expectations were a bit different though. What I need are basically headphones for my eyes. Something to use in place of computer monitor at night not to disturb housemates or use my phone comfortably while commuting. No motion tracking, no see through lenses, maybe some situational awareness but with an option to cut off all outside light.
I just got back from a trip and brought a pair of these with me. Basically a lot of what you said is true, its not a VR setup for example, more like a projector. Over all they worked great for my application which was watching movies on a plane. I still had a decent view of my surroundings but at the same time had that experience of watching a wide screen from my sofa. My only issue and I knew this going in to it, and that is the weight. After an hour the bridge of my nose begin to mutter some and had to take a break at the 2hr mark. Which really wasn't that bad, long enough for a 2hr movie which is about the time of an average flight I guess here in the States. This down time also allowed time to recharge my battery on my phone, I didn't spring for the dual plug adapter. The glasses/movie combo used about 50% of my power. As for audio, I used my normal blutooth headphones. Probably looked a little goofy with headphones and wacky glasses but the setup worked well for me.
A point for the 3DOF. I like to use it when pairing with my steam deck, and im just using jt as a pc like web browsing. I freeze it above the deck and i can look down and see the screen clearly. Or because of the blurry edges, a con that i think you missed. when using Samsung dex the clock can be blurry. So i freeze the screen and check the time or whatever i need to see on the edge of the screen. Also... the whole sound thing... its call wireless earbuds. Most ppl have them from what i see, so the negative of using earbuds being clunky would be negated. Ive used them cycling (using the smaller screen mode) and at the gym and had no trouble with them using wireless earbuds and had no problem. Only had the single cable to deal with but jt was just like as if i was dealing with wired headphlnes. Oh and i talked to a few people with them on. Noone seemed to notice i was watching a movie as the talked to me about their day lololol. Only people that did was the o es the already knew i had these lolol Other than those 2 nit picky things... its a great review. People should definitely see this and other reviews before purchasing to curb expectations. When showing it off to friends and coworkers, they thought it was a thin and light VR headset. I had to talk them down from buying them with that mindset lololol I love mine and use them for what they are. Portible monitors for my Samasung Dex, Steam Deck, and Switch. Nothing more, nothing less. Oh and i dont have to slouch forward with thme on and can sit straight up or lean back in a more comfortable, which i assume is good for your upper back lolol. Prevent that smart phone hump lolol
Yeah thinking about getting these solely for the back improvement! My job puts massive strain on my back so when I get home I'd rather not feel uncomfortable playing on my TV or PC. Relaxing on a couch or in bed seems amazing w these
I tried these glasses and I ended up sending them back because there's no pupillary distance settings. My eyes are wider than the center of the lens. I read a lot of comments saying that the edges of the screens are blurry and the reason why is? It's that their pupils are set wider than the center of the OLED panels. Why don't these companies make an adjustment for pupillary distance. My Quest 2 has an adjustment widen the lenses. I also tried the new Rayneo glasses and they are the same.
I love your honesty about this and I think the big selling point from my perspective is that they are more intended to be used as a HUD and not a VR headset. It's intended to be a portable private screen and in some cases an overlay like for maps for driving and walking. It's not really meant to immerse yourself entirely. At least that is from my perspective.
The thing I love about these is you can watch and play games on a portable large display but still pay attention to the outside world imo you can’t do that as much with a vr headset
Thanks for a great and honest review. For me, the technical specs and capabilities of a product are only half of the experience and the support offered by the manufacturer is the other half. How this company is promising things they don't deliver and ignoring requests when asked makes it clear that, for me, this is a product to stay away from. I think I'll just stick with manufacturers that actually care about their customers.
I own a Rokid Max. It is pretty expensive for a glasses monitor. From my experience, it is like a 6/10 to me. The corners aren't sharp and clear enough to see. It DOES NOT replace monitors. It is a bit annoying for me, a person with nearsight and wearing glasses. 1/3 of the glasses screen is blocked out so you have to have a perfect angle to see the whole screen. The no other wires will work with the glasses so if you lose it, well tough luck. Going to have to buy another.
Honestly they're a lot better than the XRreal glasses. And they're great when you want a big screen to play your Steam Deck or use your phone. I don't regret the money I sunk into them, but I pretty much never use them and they failed to do the one thing I really wanted them for which was allow me to use the screen in the corner while watching another screen in real life like a TV or monitor. But they're too dark to do that, and there's no way to play video games in tha ambient small screen mode.
Received my pair of these today as I loved the sound of having a large display available anywhere I wanted to play my pc games and watch videos/films really amazing, built in speakers that sound great and watching back to the future using the 3d mode is an amazing experience makes my 32 inch tv seem tiny in comparison to the large image displayed through the lenses 😳😉😁
Can't believe i'm still watching Blunty in 2024 when I remember you from the PS Home Watchmen trailer days! Nice video, I appreciate the bringing down of expectations. Maybe i'll get something like this in a few years.
I moved house recently and I can't fit my 120" projector screen anywhere now. But these glasses replace that. 3D is great. And the clarity is way better than any vr headset creating a virtual screen. I really like them for lying in bed at night. Depends on your use case and disposable income I suppose. But I recommend personally.
Thank you finally some common sense. Also keep in mind the average low end 50 up 70 inch tv ranges from $400.00 up to $800.00 respectfully and I don't know about you but it's much easier carrying around this glasses when traveling😂
The only real review of these I've seen. I bought the xreal air 2 pros and the screen not being held in space like the quest headsets do is the biggest issue. Have to use your eyeballs to look around the screen instead of moving your head and any slight head movement shakes the screen.
Fantastic video. As other have mentioned, it's great to hear what's good and what's not without sugarcoating things. I love the idea, but for what they can do now, I can't justify the price
Sorry but I may be in the minority here but I don't think paying $400 or up to $500 for glasses that project a screen up to a 200 inches as expensive. Consider that the average low end 70 inch tv ranges prices from $400 up to $800 respectfully. What you get is worth the price of admission. We're talking about actually having a 200 inch screen with you in the palms of your hands. Your not supposed to look like the next gq model wearing these, their supposed to be used as a portable home theater experience. If your looking for the next vr experience or looking like mr. cool then your getting these glasses for all the wrong reason's.
I don't think you're in the minority. Might be nice to keep kids shuting up on long trips, If you wanna spend five hundred dollars for a pair of breakable glasses on some knucklehead kids, lol.
I was looking at the Viture glasses, then I saw your video about the RayNeo 2. I am curious, what is your current best choice recommendation for this type of product?
Great review. I am looking to use it to play Xbox laying in a dark room with the wife without bothering her with TV glare. Is it good for that. Like is it super bright outside the glass
It would be cool if they made these with clear lenses then gave you magnetic clip on shades or covers or w/e for privacy, sort of like the tcl nxtwear but if the TCL looked like normal glasses without the shade clip on. I really hope these become the next big thing in a few years. One thing i don't believe you mentioned is how bright these are, from what I understand Xreals are 400 nit where as these are 1800 nit, so at least in that respect they are pretty next gen, even the rokids are only 600 nits, and while normally brightness doesn't seem like the be all and end all spec for a display, for something like this that is projected onto a transparent lens I image it makes all the difference. I've been confused recently whether to get the xreal air 2's or the quest 3 mainly for media consumption with pass through and resizable windows, but if the Viture one's still aren't recommendable, and they are better than the xreals ( i would assume) then the quest 3 seems like the no brainer option. I was either going to keep my q2 for vr and then get xr glasses, or sell my q2 and buy q3, but it seems like the latter is the better of the two options. Either way thankyou for helping me make up my mind, I will revisit this tech in a year or two, hopefully by then it has a better fov, looks and feels more like a pair of glasses and possibly has the xr2 chip.
My fav feature of these are that 2 people can use them together with the "co-op dock/battery" optional add on, Would love to try these for video editing rough cuts in remotes situations along with an assistant - so that we can both see the same large screen - Im just trying to find out if a pair would work with my macbook pro using the dock?
Thank you a lot for this huge insight on the device. I planed to do I cyberdeck and wanted the viture as monitor to make it more cyberpunk like. Finding the honest information I was looking for I know now that I will include a 7.9 inch ips screen to the deck to make it more user friendly (but slightly bigger):) Again thank you again^^
I do own xreal air 2 glasses, anf im no big fan of the quest 3 so i use the big screen beyond and i do love then both, that is the entire truth. And you are the entire truce 😂
The only way I would ever buy something like this is if it had 3DOF and a battery built in WITH the option to use a wire or wireless and the FOV needs to be raised to at least 70/80... The default 45 FOV is not big enough...
Battery life would probably suck if they were wireless + they would be heavier which could affect comfort level. But I can see in the future wireless ones and hopefully with decent battery life as well. Its still relatively new tech so a lot of room for improvement.
I like the idea of glasses like this but the prescription lens thing feels like a show stopper for me, especially not being able to wear them over other glasses as a fallback
I have a pair of the xreal airs and I agree the dark shades make them nearly unable for completing tasks indoor or at night solution I popped them out so now I have the wearable computing platform I always wanted a long with Samsung Dex I get a full desktop with tones of apps and if you make the background black you get an iron man style hud add AI voice control and it's even better
Well... that explains why I find so many of these in "used" condition selling on eBay for $150. Even for that price, I'll pass. (Half the advertised size is a BIG no, no).
ive been looking for this kind of videos. these other fucking influencers are bootlickers just trying to sell the product. "I was not paid for this" But you accepted the product.
Wearable screen is all I need, and is why I bought one. (XR Pro). I'm not after anything "VR" related so I can use it for gaming, and productivity without distracting my wife. The new version, and the desktop software is much better now.
I wonder how good it would be to say use these on a treadmill while reading an ebook? Assuming you aren't the type of person that gets motion sickness.
If someone cracks the problem of getting a screen to appear stationary in relation to RL with the option to see the real world as well (or not), even at 1080p I'd be sold. Perhaps a gadget that you can place where you want the screen to appear would help? Dunno, not an engineer.
That "problem" has been "cracked" for a while mate. That's what "AR" means, and why these are called XR... i THOUGHT i was clear about that difference?!?! Did you even watch this?
It is your point of view, but shouldn't call it the truth. There are tons of people loving Viture including me, it completely changed the way I game and consume content and it is much more comfortable and convenient than before!
How many screens can you put up. And. would it be useful to look at blueprints. Im sure you explained, i csnt focus long enough to watch all th videos 😊
I appriciate the input and thank you for it very much also loved your review and yeah im waiting for when we can wirelessly over Bluetooth stream our devices screens or something like it even casting. @@BluntyTV
Given that they are displays. If they'd just allow openxr for openxr support over USB. They could be put to actual use. But, you know, greed and all that.
I’d love a pair of these for watching a movie or TH-cam video while on the bus lol however I’ll have to wait for them to get cheaper, it’s not worth the money IMO for the use it gives you. But that’s just my personal take
Anyone know if the screen on these might be clear/big enough to actually read PDFs one page at a time? Curious about whether or not I can get through e-books with these.
yup it's basically a full HD monitor. I found the text crisper and easier to read on the xreal though. You could absolutely read a book on either. I do software dev stuff on my xreal and obviously that involves a lot of text too.
@@PizzaLordThese have PPD of 55 while Xreal Air’s PPD is 49. Won’t these be sharper for text? If you found text blurrier in Viture, is it because of the lenses?
these XR glasses seem cool but $500 cool? dear god no! maybe if they were more like $150 i could see them being worth it, but for now ill stick with my Quest 3 when that comes out
Its still relatively new thing but pretty cool new tech. Hopefully in the future they will be more affordable. But I think its great for handhelds or phones that usually have small screens and you technically have bigger screen on the go. I would not use it on xbox/playstation or anything where I can just use regular sized tv screen.
Still hoping for an affordable solution that hooks up over good old HDMI to a Bluray player so I can watch my 3D Blurays. I've never been sold on the HUD idea you seem to want though, seems like it would be very distracting when walking around, though I guess staring at your watch/phone already is so maybe it would be less so if you can still see ahead? One of those things its hard to judge unless you've tried it in person I guess. I'd probably give it a try if affordable.
You can reposition the image down to the corner. I'd not want to drive with them on though. 3D on SBS files is good. A third of the price of my 3D projector. And you can buy a box that splits hdmi into 2 usb c ports.
@@idkanymore3382 Not everyone has the space and like I said, the quality is very comparable. The contrast is actually better. Obviously my oled TV is a better picture but 65" isn't the same experience as up over 100" and can't get 3d. And for the projector picture quality to be as good you need to spend over a grand on the screen as well. With a projecter the 3d glasses darken the picture and that's not the case with these.
I love the honesty and no bs approach you took to this product. I watched a lot of videos about this product and they were all "This is great!" or "heres all the cool things you can do". 100% confirmed. I’m raising 4 kids and these let me engage in my content while doing chores, or just hanging out with the kids. Totally worth it IMO.

Something to use in place of computer monitor at night not to disturb housemates or use my phone comfortably while commuting. Now you just need these glasses, Mutalk, and headphones with a good seal, and you can play any non-VR game that may need you to talk

Shortest version; These are more feature rich, the Rayneo 2 are more comfortable. As with all things, your needs your choice.

Wearable screen is all I need, and is why I bought one. (XR Pro). I'm not after anything "VR" related so I can use it for gaming, and productivity without distracting my wife. The new version, and the desktop software is much better now.
I wish I could use a tv but senses I live in my car this glasses would be cool b
ut then again it's expensive to get right now😅
I wonder how good it would be to say use these on a treadmill while reading an ebook? Assuming you aren't the type of person that gets motion sickness.
some say the 3dof helps reduce the motion sickness
If someone cracks the problem of getting a screen to appear stationary in relation to RL with the option to see the real world as well (or not), even at 1080p I'd be sold. Perhaps a gadget that you can place where you want the screen to appear would help? Dunno, not an engineer.
That "problem" has been "cracked" for a while mate. That's what "AR" means, and why these are called XR... i THOUGHT i was clear about that difference?!?! Did you even watch this?
This is very much an early adopter device. Expensive, awkward looking and somewhat niche utility. Also, very cool.
My guess is they will be more expensive going forward. Granted better in every way as well.
This sounds like an awesome product, as a gift.
I don't have much incentive to buy one for myself, but it'd be great as a gift.
It is your point of view, but shouldn't call it the truth. There are tons of people loving Viture including me, it completely changed the way I game and consume content and it is much more comfortable and convenient than before!
Oh? So, pray tell, What exactly did I say that was NOT true?
Myopia adjustments work well for me. Also I personally was impressed by their website, very interactive and smooth
How many screens can you put up. And. would it be useful to look at blueprints. Im sure you explained, i csnt focus long enough to watch all th videos
😊
I looked at their website, convinced me I didn't want the product.
With good connection, their website is super cool, one of the coolest
My connection is superb, and no, the website is just fucking GARBAGE.
$500 is way to much for me. Got to be around $200 for average shoppers.
i agree, i bought these. the picture size advertised is BS
If Billy from the Boys retired and decided to do tech reviews lol
Can they support Bluetooth Audio?
The glasses, no. The device connected to them? ... depends on the device of course.
I appriciate the input and thank you for it very much also loved your review and yeah im waiting for when we can wirelessly over Bluetooth stream our devices screens or something like it even casting. @@BluntyTV
The neckband, yes. They are Android TV.
Given that they are displays. If they'd just allow openxr for openxr support over USB. They could be put to actual use. But, you know, greed and all that.
They have a TINY FOV compared to a 'real' VR headset, VR using these would be TERRIBLE. Also, only 3DOF...
Does this work on the switch lite?
... of course not. The Nintendo Switch Lite does not support video output... that's it's whole entire differentiating feature... it's handheld ONLY.
These seem too expensive for their use-case. Unfortunate.
Nice overview.
Looks like they're made for someone who can look thru a keyhole with both eyes at once.
Bro😂
Nope
are you talking about how theyre small on his head?
I assumed it stands for "cross reality", but I dunno
I’d love a pair of these for watching a movie or TH-cam video while on the bus lol however I’ll have to wait for them to get cheaper, it’s not worth the money IMO for the use it gives you. But that’s just my personal take
Oh boy i can't wait until they r down to the 100$range which means it will take yrs but I'm ok with that
This is way cooler. I don't want augmented reality, I want to be able to watch youtube while driving
Watching basketball games and using Tesla FSD will be amazing
Accident waiting to happen lmao.
Anyone know if the screen on these might be clear/big enough to actually read PDFs one page at a time? Curious about whether or not I can get through e-books with these.
Yes PDF file is clear and readable on the virtual screen.
For me it is clear enough, they also just added kindle to the neckband. Viture changed my way of consuming content!
yup it's basically a full HD monitor.
👍👍 video review
comment for the comments sake - may it help you...
Stylin' and profilin'
these XR glasses seem cool but $500 cool? dear god no! maybe if they were more like $150 i could see them being worth it, but for now ill stick with my Quest 3 when that comes out
Its still relatively new thing but pretty cool new tech. Hopefully in the future they will be more affordable. But I think its great for handhelds or phones that usually have small screens and you technically have bigger screen on the go. I would not use it on xbox/playstation or anything where I can just use regular sized tv screen.
Dayam Zaddy
Looks so small on you lol
tuck the wire in your shirt
narc core
"narc core" 🤣
@@jennyholiday88 "Cable Management" lmao
Just buy a projector and get a good space for a nice screen. These wont reprouce rhe depth and effect
