David J Adams Are you kidding me? Purchasing BIZ class should always be associated witch free seat selection, regardless of status. It’s a low fare airline thing to do!
Lawrence Bilton ... yes other airlines DO CHARGE for seat reservations in Business Class. Swiss charges $149.00 USD to reserve the throne seat. I know because I paid it flying to see my Sister who lives in Zurich.

Here’s something to digest: BA fits 14 F seats in the same space that 12 United First Suites also fit (B744). Yes, UA’s old 3-class F, from 2007, is larger in seat area and storage than BA’s “new” F. After being in both many times UA’s suite is also more comfortable.
BA 747 upper deck business class has most storage I have seen on an aircraft. My favourite choice to fly.

well i just flew the refurbed 777 premium economy my Gatwick to Orlando and the seat, food and service were very good

Hi Dan, would you say Executive Club is better than Virgin Atlantic Flying Club?
I was looking at redemptions and as an example in Premium Economy LHR to JFK return (same dates) was 35,000 miles with Virgin and 66,000 miles with BA.
@@michaelrogers6574 I think from looking at figures online you accumulate avios easyer/faster. Eg. Ba credit card is 1avios per £ and virgin is 0.5 points per £. Also ba has over 1000 online retailers they partner with. I'm sure dan will be able to answer better then me tho
Good to see you doing another BA comparison, the main thing I have with BA is the $1000+ Au more expensive than emirates or Qatar for their same product.

I am still hoping for 1st class someday soon.. great to hear it's way above business, I have just found a favourite seat A30 upper deck business, middle seat of the trio near the staircase and huge toilets, It was so quiet and felt like i had my own personal room, Lacking in storage yes but i slept like a dream. Yep i agree with you and I am British. I no longer fly them and have unused Avios. There is no pount for me in flying them as they are only interested in the premium classes.
i know my comment is late but I was looking at airlines and I noticed that American airline, British airways and China airlines all have the same identical business class seats. The are identical down to the night light to the, side remote to the side cubicle the look the exact same !!!!!!!!!!! its called the Super Diamond seat by Collins Aerospace.
I guess the critical parts of business class are where first class takes the cake

Somehow I feel that by British Airways introducing their new Club Suite, it is a sign that First Class will be eliminated on more and more routes (with the exception of premium heavy routes such as LAX, JFK, TYO, HKG etc) where they actually sell most of their First Class seats as opposed to giving them away as award tickets) as they start to replace their aircraft.

I’m standing in terminal 5 LHR right now, came in from LAX virgin atlantic upper class in a 787. Horrible. Other than the lay flat feature it’s cramped, too many people in the cabin, horrible air quality. I hope BA has it better.

BA has the slots at LHR and LGW so it can get away with all manner of sins, like charging Biz seat selection. Opening up to competition would give BA the incentive to compete more with the better rated Biz seats. But their shareholders aren't Gulf sovereign wealth funds, so they'll probably always struggle to compete with the top ME carriers.

Don't worry Dan, I hate British Airways now, having flown BOAC, BEA and BA from 1950. They just cant make up their minds whether to charge premium fares or charge for all sorts of extras that used to be standard, so what do they do?? They do BOTH!
Cathay’s seat is not the same as Club Suite - the former is a Zodiac Cirrus variant (which AA also have on their 77Ws), whilst Club Suite is a Collins (formerly B/E) Aerospace Super Diamond variant.

Everything is just SO mediocre with BA nowadays, so sad to see them fall to the place they have. They had the chance to implement a world class product, and some of the patents they had for a ‘sky lounge’ style seat and even the slightly better designed ‘ying yang’ all-isle-access seats were just so much better than this generic, boring business class product.

The lack of privacy is unfortunately something that would turn me away from this seat without hesitation.
On a different note, I loved the back to basics, technical and admittedly geeky method of seat review - aside from your often raw enthusiasm to be experiencing some of the worlds best seats, this is what drew me to love your channel all those years ago!

Nonstop Dan, I like British Airways, so I dislike it when people shame it. So if you see “no insulting airlines in the halls”, I want to let you know that I’m fighting the criticism. Honestly, they don’t know how good it is. Especially the new White Company bedding and amenity kit for Club World/Suite.

Galaxy Of Aviation BA is probably the worst airline that calls itself a National Carrier as I’ve said before it rarely ventures outside its London catchment ie Heathrow. It insists in shuttling people from Manchester to London causing more pollution and costing more despite the fact you can travel worlwide from Manchester. It gives a poor service and is not worthy of our National Carrier name. I will never travel BA.until they improve thier image 🇺🇸✈️👨✈️👩✈️💗🤦🏼♀️

Just watched the vid again. BA's decor...eeew. It's not understated, it's not restrained, it's just DULL. And at a quick glance the business cabin reminds me of a call centre.

It's definitely worth the extra time to fly Singapore Airlines from Houston to Manchester - without a doubt the best transatlantic option!

I completely agree with Nonstop Dan at British Airways not caring about some categories of their customers. my girlfriend booked and paid for a flight to Amsterdam via London Heathrow but couldn't make the journey on the day of departure, she thus requested for a refund from BA and nobody from the airline is willing to help. she's sent numerous emails to B.A for assistance but no reply from them.

Great review - thank you 🙏🏼 I have to say I was extremely under-whelmed when I flew LHR to ORD early this year in Biz. From the virtually un-manned Lounge to the lack of flexibility when asking to have my ‘afternoon tea’ for my evening meal, crew passing hot food/drinks over the aisle passenger, no real crew around during the night to ask for assistance, but the worst part - the configuration. Absolutely awful to get to the rest room. I normally fly Virgin to West and East Coast, but they dont fly to ORD. Am flying with BA again, so fingers crossed it’s better - wouldnt recommend them.
Too bad they didn't do just a slight redesign of their first class seat, people aren't lying when they call it the world's best business class.

I am British Dan, and i would rather fly Emirates, Qatar or Etihad to Asia and have a lay over thaN fly British Airways direct, like i said many times before, BA is the most expensive budget airline in the world. BA is not British anymore, it is owned bye IAG, which is Spanish. ITS ALL ABOUT PROFIT
It’s not hate Dan, it just disappointment. Why fly British Airways when you have such carriers as Middle Eastern one. Also KLM/Air France/Lufthansa & Swiss. Better pricing & service.

@@NonstopDan off topic I know, but just got off a 4 segment flight with Qatar on 787 and Qsuites A 350 1000, and everything you have said is true and more. I even managed to get offered 8 amenity kits (mentioned my wife a lot and they offered the female kit to give to her). I was even given loads of kids amenity bags for my son, along with teddys for my son. Sorry again for Bing off topic.

As much as the old Club was not good it was great for sleeping and when the divider was up it was very private so that's what saved it for me. Also BA staff have been exceptional the last few times I flew Club so maybe that helped a bit

@@brilliantbutblue They didn't used to be this bad, the last few years they have been going down hill and fast. Terrible online experience and terrible experiences onboard mean I'll never be flying with them again if I have a choice.

Actually, that’s the WORST description, because they actually care about their customers.
It’s the best description Of the BA MANAGER. NOT the crew. My parents are cabin crew and they care about customers and so do all their friends and fellow crew. You should feel bad for them, not insult them, they work so hard and so long and because all the manager cares about is the money, the crews pay is going down. So take that back
