    This works much better than traditional dog nail clippers! Thanks for the video!

    I like that this is so quiet and has a light. I'd rather see a regular pet owner using it than someone who is obviously into clicker training. If she goes to clicker expos (see her shirt), she's into positive dog training. Clicker training is great though.

      My puppy is a food hound…. She loves her treats. I put her on my lap because she would keep still like this dog ( mine is a Boston Terrier) turned the grinder on and just kept giving her treats while I just touched her paws with it! That’s it…… no grinding today. Tomorrow I will do the same for a few days but I’ll tell you when she sees the grinder she thinks of TREATS! I vet I have no trouble if I use this method!

    All she’s doing is feeding him treats, I have 2 dogs, at that rate it would take me a month to do their nails 🤦🏻‍♀️

      That’s called desensitisation. It stops the dog from being fearful of the tool. Of course she’s not going to file anything doing this. This is the preparatory work!

    When would you stop in black nails??

    • @luckytail8771
      @luckytail8771  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Dark colored nails should be ground in several small increments to reduce the chance of cutting into the quick. Grind very thin slices off the end of the nail until you see a black dot appear towards the center when you look at it head on. This is the start of the quick that you need to avoid.

      @@luckytail8771 my dog has black nails, but why does she continue to draw back her paw from me as tho I'm hitting the quick, even tho all I see is a white circle and not a black dot in the middle yet?

    • @luckytail8771
      @luckytail8771  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Hizwife she is too afraid and stressed. Get a Kong. Stuff it with treats. Top with peanut butter. Freeze it. Someone holds the Kong while someone else trims the nails. He will be so busy with the frozen peanut butter you'll get those nails trimmed.

    Woah that thing is so quiet! The only sound I could hear was the actual nail grinding.

  • @Ledprostate

    This has a light right? So just a quick touch now and then?

    • @luckytail8771
      @luckytail8771  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yes! Grinder has a LED light. However, trim a little at a time, looking both at the side of the nail and at the cut surface. In white nails, the cut surface will turn pink just before reaching the quick. This is where you should stop.

      @@gabrielastankevic2971 Thanks he's a ridgeback named Sam and he's old. Used to be my daughter's dog and I took him when she passed, she also had a pitbull named Daisy. Both have to get their nails trimmed at the vet at 35$ a shot each. It's getting pretty costly. Thank you I think I will try this.

    the video does not show progress. it shows a dog eating treats. show the tool grinding 4 weeks worth of nail from two front paws start to finish with proper sound. It looks to be a tiny slow tool that would take many seconds to grind just one nail 3/8", let alone 8.

      Really I'm reading all the negative Nellies on here why don't you just buy one and try it out for yourself. She's merely showing how to adapt the dog to the nail file duh and yeah hand signals are good. For some of you judgmental people why don't you make a video and show us your brilliant ideas on how to let's see what kind of mess you can make. Einstein's

    • @denisesmith9551
      @denisesmith9551 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, this is clearly a deaf dog! It first stroke me as he is all white... a characteristic that is common in 20% of bull terrier dogs and then the hand signals.
