  • Hi Everyone-
Let's wrap a Bassoon Reed together. By doing this we protect the delicate tip of the reed if it is dropped (it will hit heaviest end first), we help insure the reed will seal, and keep the blades from slipping over time.

I just started using glitter hot glue and I would highly recommend it. It looks great and is very easy.

Keep practicing wrapping a reed. It is a balance between finding the right tension (not pulling too tight but not letting the string slip). It takes time to learn a new technique- just relax and practice while chilling and watching TH-cam videos. :)

Hey so like, I've been a percussionist for about 3 years now, and I was interested in getting a bassoon. What would be the best bassoon to get for someone who has no experience playing one but wants to learn one?

Maybe check if your band has one hidden in a closet? You could always try and rent a bassoon but typically they are not great and you might not have as much fun. The final option is to invest and do it- Buy One!
