This isn’t even Bob’s best appearance. ‘Getting chased out of town’ and ‘doing my own dentistry’ are excellent. We nearly lost Bob a few years ago. He went to the doc for a routine check up and was sent straight to hospital for emergency bypass surgery. You girls would love his fishing show which is so wholesome and about his fabulous friendship with fellow comedy actor Paul Whitehouse.
So. David and Lee are team captains in every episode, so any clips you see of this show will likely have them in. Bob is a recurring guest, but the problem is, he has had such an outlandish life and tells stories in such a captivating way that there is literally no distinction between his truths and his lies. He's brilliant, and mad and a joy to watch. Keep going with these WILTY Bob Mortimer clips, for your own good!!

Probably not Bob's most hilarious performance... the one where he states that a bath with an egg was run for him is hysterical and David Mitchell's reaction still creases me up no matter how many times I've seen it. There are too many to pick out ... perhaps you should see the one where he claims to have burnt his parents' house down... or as someone said, a collection of his best appearances.He is a national treasure.

Bob has become a kind of national treasure after years of surreal tv comedy. He had made a lot of appearances on this show and he is always hilarious, telling the most improbable hilarious tales. Look out for the one he told about going to the local witch's house.

My favourite is the one where Bob said he started a brewery with someone. It’s a round called “This is my..” One team gives a short synopsis of a person brought onto the show and what their individual connection is to the person. Only one of the three stories is true. But really, any of the episodes with Bob Mortimer is pure gold.

I'm glad you're taking advice on the comedy, it's a huge part of British psyche and something we're really proud of, so it would really help you understand more about us and the banter that is such a huge part of our normal everyday nonsense. Bob is a legend - we love him.

There's nothin like British comedy. No where else does it quite like us. We're so self aware and self deprecating mixed with great wit and sarcasm with some great put down lines. There's so many great British comics out there and from past times too. I sometimes try to watch US comedy but I just don't get it, it just comes across as simple to me and they kinda laugh at just about anything it kinda annoys me if I'm honest. Stephen Fry does a good short talk about the differences between British and American comedy, everything he says is totally on point.

Bob Mortimer is an absolute gift to WILTY, 'fireworks in the house is a riot.' As Natasha likes David, perhaps you might like to look at "Victoria doesn't know this...." which features his wife, the incredible Victoria Corren Mitchell. It's one of my favourites.
Any episode with Bob is a winner. Hard to pick one as they are all hilarious but maybe look for Chris Rea and the egg, the fireworks one, the dentistry one, the tawny owl... the list goes on. You should also look at Bobs work with Vic Reeves, their very early work together on vic reeves big night out has to be seen to be beleived and later shows 'the smell of Reeves and Mortimer' and 'bang bang reeves and mortimer. They bounce so well off each other. Also a panel show they did called shooting stars was hilarious

Bob, and his professional partner Vic Reeves (aka Jim Moir), had their own 'panel' show called Shooting Stars. The best episode ever featured Larry Hagman as one of the guests. He genuinely had no clue as to what was happening to him (and said so); it was freakin' (thanks Natasha) hilarious. You should check it out.
I love love loved Shooting Stars, so surreal and totally bonkers. Ulrika ka ka ka ka! I still say Oovarvooo - Iraaaaaannnoooo randomly and only people of a certain age know what I'm on about 🤣
I didn't really enjoy Shooting Stars. Vic Reeves' humour isn't to my taste. . It was supposed to be random, but it seemed a little too forced and not spontaneous. I'm surprised Bob stuck it out so long.

I think it’s been suggested,but “Mortimer and Whitehouse:Gone fishing”,is a lovely program where two comedy legends (and a dog called Ted) just…..go fishing in beautiful surroundings and entertain with flights of whimsy.
Have seen it before but still loved hearing it again. Bob is always hilarious also James Acaster ( especially his dire enemy) and Rhod Gilbert is great too. Loved your reaction. I got it right too but only because it was Bob, wouldn’t have believed it of anyone else!
With Bob you really need to watch in order - so the very first two are Digeridoo in a Tree followed by Tear an Apple in Half The show is still on the air and Bob is still making appearances!
the stories that bob comes out with is mind blowing, you have got to see all the other stories off the same show to understand that this guy is truly a one off, also his friends names that crop up within the stories are hilarious in there own right.

He started off life as a solicitor and then co-starred with a guy called Vic Reeves ( they were voted 9th best comedy duo in the UK) in a TV programme called Shooting Stars. Along with Matt Lucas as a bald drummer wearing a baby grow, it was a chaotic show, which I highly recommend. They also did "Vic Reeves' Big Night Out" , which was an equally mad sketch show.
Love Bob 😂😂 There's a great set of compilations called "Bob's Morrimerian Tales" which are longer compilations of all his crazy stories on WILTY. They are hilarious, he has so many strange tales 😂😂
My two favorite Bob stories, oh lord...its so hard to keep it to two. It's the 'hairdresser' story and the 'fireworks' story, special mention to the 'owl' story
Bob is brilliant - two more to check out in the future are 'Hand Lion' and 'Cockroach King'. Or any by Claudia Winkelman, Greg Davies or Henning Wehn. Bob is very funny and also very intelligent, before going into comedy he was a lawyer.
Ah you have found the great Bob Mortimer. Best panel show ever with the best team captains. Bob is so loved to me that I clicked on the link the moment I saw his name. One of the best comedians ever. You watch would i lie to you and I will always be here.
As others have said there are some good compilations of Bob on TH-cam. I read Bob’s autobiography which came out about a year ago. It is a very funny read and includes most of his true stories from WILTY ( He is going to run out of them one of these days). However his book includes some very sad, serious and dark parts of his life. Like all of us, he has struggled at times. Particular dealing with his serious health problems which Paul Whitehouse has helped him get over, and out of which has come their fishing programme which is funny and heart-warming.
A programme you'd love is Gone Fishing with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse . . . Yep a little fishing but the banter , gorgeous locations and fantastic places they stay . . . X
You have to watch " Mortimer and Whitehouse gone fishing" Its just them fishing in amazing locations. Its good to see the camaraderie between them both and its such a relaxing and peaceful show to watch. Most of the time! :)

There is along slow multi-series story arc in which Bob Mortimer's astonishing storytelling and ability to lie slowly chisel away at David Mitchell's sanity, driving him increasingly insane
Definitely continue with Bob, but do them in that correct order, as there's spoilers for earlier ones in some of the later ones. Also, James Acaster and Claudia Winkleman are excellent guests too.
I love this show, and it’s my favourite comedy panel type show by far. I prefer it to sketch shows too. Bob is always a fantastic guest and has so many great stories, as others have said. I also really like Jo Brand’s cake story too - worth a look, quite a short one.
The thing that makes Bob a dark horse on this show is he used to be a solicitor (lawyer) and he's lived an insane life, so there's no way of knowing if he's telling a totally unbelievable truth or telling a lie in a believably unbelievable way.
There’s so much history with Bob on the show. I think the new series is one of the first in a lot of years that Bob isn’t on any episodes - and I’m gonna miss his presence so much. I think the later ones with Bob they reference some of his earlier stories especially given how frustrated David gets with him. Bob’s stories are generally mad.
I thought it was true from the start, just because Bob. I'm glad you've had your first taste of Bob. You have so many more of his stories to enjoy. Also, when you feel like laughing again, check out James Acaster on Would I Lie to You - and bring tissues because you're gonna need them because you're gonna laugh so hard!
All of us who have seen WILTY know that Bob is an unsung national treasure. You reaction was fantastic to see Could I suggest that you watch Bob's first time on the show which involved an apple. Also maybe watch Gone Fishing, which is a beautiful slow paced show but fun.
Bob Mortimer is a comic genius. We're Canadian fans of this show and it's always a treat when he's a guest on the show. Seek out the episode where he talks about Chris Rea and the egg in the bath. I was literally laugh-crying. And, yes, it's a running joke on the show that Bob's stories are often absurd and you can never tell if he's lying or not.

I love Henning Wehn. His stories are almost as improbable as Bob’s.
Bob, and his professional partner Vic Reeves (aka Jim Moir), had their own 'panel' show called Shooting Stars. The best episode ever featured Larry Hagman as one of the guests. He genuinely had no clue as to what was happening to him (and said so); it was freakin' (thanks Natasha) hilarious. You should check it out.
Yes! Shooting Stars may be just that bit too random for US tastes, so choose carefully. I think it was genius.

I didn't really enjoy Shooting Stars. Vic Reeves' humour isn't to my taste. . It was supposed to be random, but it seemed a little too forced and not spontaneous.
I'm surprised Bob stuck it out so long.

I think it’s been suggested,but “Mortimer and Whitehouse:Gone fishing”,is a lovely program where two comedy legends (and a dog called Ted) just…..go fishing in beautiful surroundings and entertain with flights of whimsy.
Have seen it before but still loved hearing it again. Bob is always hilarious also James Acaster ( especially his dire enemy) and Rhod Gilbert is great too. Loved your reaction. I got it right too but only because it was Bob, wouldn’t have believed it of anyone else!
The rule with Bob is the more outlandish the story, the more likely it is to be true. He's a legend. lol
With Bob you really need to watch in order - so the very first two are Digeridoo in a Tree followed by Tear an Apple in Half

the stories that bob comes out with is mind blowing, you have got to see all the other stories off the same show to understand that this guy is truly a one off, also his friends names that crop up within the stories are hilarious in there own right.
Bob is a treasure. One of my earliest memories of being alive involves Bob as I would remember watching Bob and his comedy partner Vic Reeves on Shooting Stars, with my brothers on Friday nights.

He started off life as a solicitor and then co-starred with a guy called Vic Reeves ( they were voted 9th best comedy duo in the UK) in a TV programme called Shooting Stars. Along with Matt Lucas as a bald drummer wearing a baby grow, it was a chaotic show, which I highly recommend.
They also did "Vic Reeves' Big Night Out" , which was an equally mad sketch show.

Love Bob 😂😂 There's a great set of compilations called "Bob's Morrimerian Tales" which are longer compilations of all his crazy stories on WILTY. They are hilarious, he has so many strange tales 😂😂

As others have said there are some good compilations of Bob on TH-cam. I read Bob’s autobiography which came out about a year ago. It is a very funny read and includes most of his true stories from WILTY ( He is going to run out of them one of these days). However his book includes some very sad, serious and dark parts of his life. Like all of us, he has struggled at times. Particular dealing with his serious health problems which Paul Whitehouse has helped him get over, and out of which has come their fishing programme which is funny and heart-warming.
A programme you'd love is Gone Fishing with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse . . . Yep a little fishing but the banter , gorgeous locations and fantastic places they stay . . . X

You have to watch " Mortimer and Whitehouse gone fishing" Its just them fishing in amazing locations. Its good to see the camaraderie between them both and its such a relaxing and peaceful show to watch. Most of the time! :)

There are plenty of Bob Mortimer clips, all hilarious, but Claudia Winkleman is also worth checking out. The full title of the other show you mentioned is 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown. Both of you have a Merry Christmas, and thanks for your great channel.
There are two shows: 8 out of 10 cats was the original panel show, then they took the original cast members of that and played the countdown format.
Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing is a must. So funny and great scenery.
There is along slow multi-series story arc in which Bob Mortimer's astonishing storytelling and ability to lie slowly chisel away at David Mitchell's sanity, driving him increasingly insane
Bob Mortimer and the Micro-Brewery and the DIY Dentistry stories are well worth watching. I love you two enjoying yourself so much. :)
Definitely continue with Bob, but do them in that correct order, as there's spoilers for earlier ones in some of the later ones. Also, James Acaster and Claudia Winkleman are excellent guests too.

I love this show, and it’s my favourite comedy panel type show by far. I prefer it to sketch shows too. Bob is always a fantastic guest and has so many great stories, as others have said. I also really like Jo Brand’s cake story too - worth a look, quite a short one.
Bob Mortimer has an extraordinary gift.
The thing that makes Bob a dark horse on this show is he used to be a solicitor (lawyer) and he's lived an insane life, so there's no way of knowing if he's telling a totally unbelievable truth or telling a lie in a believably unbelievable way.
Bob's stories have become legendary and have spawned a number of compilation videos on TH-cam.
Mortimerian Tales Parts 1&2 are brilliant
There’s so much history with Bob on the show. I think the new series is one of the first in a lot of years that Bob isn’t on any episodes - and I’m gonna miss his presence so much. I think the later ones with Bob they reference some of his earlier stories especially given how frustrated David gets with him. Bob’s stories are generally mad.

All of us who have seen WILTY know that Bob is an unsung national treasure. You reaction was fantastic to see Could I suggest that you watch Bob's first time on the show which involved an apple. Also maybe watch Gone Fishing, which is a beautiful slow paced show but fun.
Bob Mortimer is a comic genius. We're Canadian fans of this show and it's always a treat when he's a guest on the show. Seek out the episode where he talks about Chris Rea and the egg in the bath. I was literally laugh-crying. And, yes, it's a running joke on the show that Bob's stories are often absurd and you can never tell if he's lying or not.
"I've cracked an egg in there for you Bob".
