Unreal Engine and Epic game are installed on the PC of a Sound designer dev working on New world that's it, your conclusion mean nothing, he is still using Azoth Engine as "AZ" that can been seen on the video, there is no other proof.... but hey "A fool see what he want to see".
nah bruh, aint no way they port the whole game to unreal, that's just a crazy amount of cost.
Yea, it's def not UE5 port. Azoth engine is mutated CryEngine? Anyways, it's a pain it seems to work with. If they were smart they would have went with UE4/5 like AoC is doing and had an engine that has a ton of support and people that are acclimated to it.
@@Label07 It's not free tho. You have to pay for Unreal and it is not cheap at scale.
He's working in AGS, he might be working on other games aside the New World, for example Lost Ark is made in Unreal Engine
WAIT, I see Excel in the Taskbar. I have a crazy theory. Maybe they are finally porting New World to Excel. This would be insane for the future of New World.

Epic Games on their task bar only shows you that they aren't playing New World either, like the 1,000,000 people they've lost. They are playing games on Epic Games, where you get free games every week. Their development budget wouldn't include abandoning their proprietary game engine. They are in the final curtain call, while trying to milk a new batch of console players until the release of Lord of the Rings. Spoiler Alert: Rings of Power MMO INC.

This is a full smooth brain take, you can see from the taskbar which applications he has open - none of which are Unreal.
duhhh AGS has at least 2 braincells not to have Unreal Engine running... but they were too smooth brained to remove it from the task bar, not thinking more about it
Unfortunately the Unreal engine, and epic game store are not opened. there would be a small blue bar under the program denoting the app is running (look at OBS a few programs to the right). and also if you look all the way down to the right where the New World icon is, you can see the Azoth Engine is open and running (denoted by the large AZ).
So if the sound guy made a mistake, did you just expose him to it? nice content...
like to add to the hype :P HUGE NEWS, there is going to be a new character select screen where you can pick new race. Angry Earth and Corrupted with there own story line and new abilities changing the factions for the humans being a whole faction of there own
I am a 2D illustrator, and I have Unreal and EGS on my taskbar. I doubt they’re porting the game to Unreal, simply because… they just did a code refactor. You don’t do a code refactor if you intend on switching engines. You just switch engines. This video is the biggest nothing burger I have ever watched and from now on I know to not watch a DustyWhy video ever again.
How is a different engine going to save New World tho? Especially when they already changed the combat code. I think it's already a bit too far gone.
Idk, everything elae seems feasiblw ,but engine change is super unlikely. It would mean an entirely new game, like New World 2 or something
IF it moved to something like Unreal Engine the amount of support, Talent among other things will be highly accessible vs something like Cryengine/Azoth. So would essentially cut down dev time but its very rare for a game to change engine completely especially after launch
As much as I would LOVE this as an Unreal Dev and huge New World fan it looks like in the Task bar the Azoth Engine is what we are seeing (AZ icon is what's loaded) and New world is most likely being played in dev mode from inside the engine.
If they did move to UE it would make life a lot easier for them tbh but what do we know 🤣
Indeed, it makes me recall when the devs mentioned they have "many future and test builds" past what the public has seen.

No. It tells me that a sound designer uses Reaper, wwise, Lua scripting, VSCode, Spotify, OBS, Excel, and Notepad++ on his windows 10 installation. 😊
I would support UR for sure if they moved away from their current engine but it won’t feel the same, but I feel it will be F2P. But the new UI…
i still doulbt they'll move to unreal considering they told us the Lotr mmo would also be made with their own engine, but we'll see soon enough.
The UI change does look real though. :)
Many games have shifted engines or direction either in development, or even through a large update.
A few of these include FF14, Dota 2, Fortnite, Diablo, the Riot MMO (going dark for years), and more.
Never forget that New World was originally a full loot PvP game and they shifted the premise of that entirely too! I'm excited to see what's announced for sure

He's a game designer. Even though he does sound, he still is part of the process. I'll bet every game designer has Unreal on their bar, regardless. Plus, what gamer does have Epic Games on their task bar? Not buying it.
Sure they just blew 100 million in dev costs just to port the game to a new engine that requires even higher licensing fees. SMH
dude they made like 800 million from the 17 million copies sold........ 10m is a drop in the bucket for release on Consoles to potentially double that
@@KnockOut101inc That's a lot of assumptions like- everyone paying full price for a game, and the game costing 200m to produce and budget of approximately 500m a year to run. So now your telling me that not only are they going to fire their entire dev team who doesn't know unreal (it's not even remotely similar to their inhouse engine), they are going to throw away 10 years of a code base, they are going to add a new 30% surcharge to every $ transaction to pay daddy Epic, they are going to hire entirely new talent that know Unreal, they spent years in advance training them on lumberyard and the existing codebase, alllll to release an Old game that not many care about- on console, and they did all that in about 1-2 years? nah bro. I've seen stupid things done before but I don't think anyone would go that far.

What ever keeps you coping the game isn't on it's death bed. Bringing a game from one engine to another isn't as easy as clicking a button to port it over. LM and UE are completely different on how the game is managed, as well AGS is all in on their inhouse LM engine. They have NW and their new LOTR game built on it. Also, look at their recent hires, no mention of needing UE experience but LM or cryengine are listed.

If they moved the game to UE5, that would be incredible! The amount of resources needed to switch engines though... I mean, Jeffie has the pockets for it, but this has to be too good to be true.
