Great video steve and i very impressed with all your videos you've done over the years. My only questions is ive also been scared clipping up but i know how important it is!! Some people wind a few turns once its hit the clip incase you get that run so what happens if you do suddenly get a decent fish do you try unclip super quick? That is the only reason that scares me breaking off?
Good question! I rarely have an issue when clipping up, you will be amazed in the amount of stretch/strength in your mainline. On the odd occasion a fish does pull extremely hard, I quickly remove the line from the clip. Regards, Steve.

What are your thoughts on hook lengths? I've been fishing a method feeder and keep it around 4inches. I've noticed people with cage feeders fish longer hook lengths though. I'm just wondering if it's worth experimenting with or if it's method dependent?
I was thinking that too - the long hooklengths surely mean that the fish can mouth the bait without showing indications on the tip? Saying that, I imagine that a very short hooklength could tangle with that type of feeder.
Method feeders are much better with a short 4" hooklink. Feeder fishing is slightly different as you tend to create a larger feeding area with the fish moving around more. When you get more advanced into feeder fishing playing around with hooklink lengths is definitely something to try. Regards, Steve.

Great video. But you missed the most important thing out.. your hands are free to have a hot brew warm you up unlike that pole fishing muck 🤮.. Re inline cage feeders still on sale or discontinued due to fish safety . Not seen any for ages

The oil in luncheon meat does create a lighter bait naturally, you could always play around with some foam as well. Regards, Steve.
