    So simple and elegant. I'm obsessed with the way geometrical shapes and rectangles can hang on the body so beautifully with minimal sewing - that's actually the inspiration for my next video :)

Thank you for taking your time and talent and sharing it so that others can learn how to make this great looking Kaftan! Have a great day!

      By the way Angela, I'm 37, I've been a floral designer all of my life and I'm always creating something, however creating my own clothing is a whole new world for me! When I came across fabric glue, I gave it a try and was amazed at how well it holds lace to fabrics, all sorts of ribbons, trims etc! All I needed was to find the right person to show me how!! WOOHOO!! Thanks a bunch!

    • @AngelaJeanChat

      Hi Jill! Seriously your comment is exactly why I do what I do:) I'm a creative and love learning but I like to be inspired not discouraged when it comes to art. I have made it my point to create videos that are all beginner level, so that EVERYONE can create what I am creating. What is the point otherwise. So many times I see a design I love and the minute they pull out patterns and huge craft tables I am bummed and click off because that level of design is too out of reach. I love flowers and floral design. You should do videos on that:) Thank you for subscribing and welcome to my channel!

    Very pretty! I kept looking in the mirror hoping to see the back, especially at the center of the neckline. Did you put an applique there too? Also, when you wear it, does the front fall so the back center rides up to the base of your neck? I can see that happening to me and would be concerned about the stress point at the back center neck area.

    I have some satin fabric and will give this a try. Wondering if floor length will work. Assuming you make the neckline like this because it's the best way to work with satin

    • @AngelaJeanChat
      @AngelaJeanChat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it a thin satin? It might not fold over the body properly, let me know. When you say make the neckline like this? What are you talking about? Do you mean the shape being a deep V?

    Finally. This is what a kaftan looks like. A loose fitting light fabric which hang in your body. Past one hour I was searching in you tube. People are using measuring tape, inch by inch measurements of their body to make kaftan, what nonsense. People should have the basic knowledge of the thing they are going to make or do.

  • @samorrissey100

    Love the style and how to ... only one suggestion, it would be good to see how the trim was finished at the point on the back of the Caftan

    • @AngelaJeanChat
      @AngelaJeanChat  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sharon:) Sorry for late response, a lot of my comments were getting duplicated as you know, still figuring them out. I put the same appliqué in the back. Easy way to finish edges when you are not sewing is to sandwich the material with a pretty, dainty trim on both sides. Kind of my go-to when I am designing with fabric glue. xoxo

    • @AngelaJeanChat
      @AngelaJeanChat  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Yasmin,
      Your comment got shuffled down. Sorry for late response. Hot glue gun on thin material usually doesn't look very good. You can try a small section and see if you can see it through the fabric. You can buy fabric glue online, its worth it. I swear, I am convinced you can pretty much glue an entire new wardrobe together!
