  • The Honda Wave 125 is made in a few countries, one of them is in Malaysia thanks to Boon Siew's Honda factory. This fuel injected bike from recent years houses 18L of underseat storage and is relatively unchanged from Honda's first Wave 125i in 2012. So whats different? Watch this video and find out!

      I Don't think west want this moped. This popular in south east Asia because it's cheap, low maintaince and light weight. But you will sacrifice speed and torque because these 125cc moped is slower than slowest car.
      Even 125cc entry level sportbike is faster

      @@arx117 fast enough for inside smaller cities imo, i live around sunnyvale/san jose/cupertino in north bay and it would absolutely work here if you avoid expressways/freeways. people with sub 15 minute commutes could use this, especially since the prices of used cars and gas are insane rn. this thing costs 1 grand, hard deal to pass up, compared to a grom or even a chinese 200cc like lifan that cost 3x the price. more practical too with the cargo space. however some people are more concerned about looking cool and this thing doesnt deliver on that aspect lol

    When I was choosing for my motorcycle for the first time, I almost chose this model, but instead I ended up with a Honda Dash 125 since Dash 125 is lighter and bit faster than Wave 125. It's also worth noting that all Malaysian Honda underbones are assembled locally woth parts either made locally or imported from overseas Honda factories

    It's very similar to my Innova 125. a UK 2012 bike (the last year they were available in UK). I got it in 2015 as second owner, and I love it!
    Mine has spoked wheels so tubed tyres, a straight exhaust, enclosed chain guard, and the seat is unlocked with the key in a lock on the left hand rear, below the rear seat.
    Mine has a front basket attached to the three attachment points missing on this Wave.
    It has a front disc (no ABS) and a rear drum. It has a side stand and a centre stand. Amazingly it still has the original 2012 battery, and starts on the button first touch every time.

      Your Innova and my Wave in New Zealand are pretty close in their styling. I got the next gen Wave, 2012-2017 - that was the model after they were making them innovas. Great bikes - seems like people in the UK are only just cottoning on to how great they can be judging by the SBBA and GFOSB facebook groups. Yes the tail lights separation from the amber signal lights are regulations on new models from 2017 onwards from the department of transport, this requires signal lights to be a certain distance apart from other light sources (headlamps/taillamps) hence the honda wave alpha in 2017 have those weird front signal lights sticking out as a stopgap measure back then

    I used to own an older model of this bike for two plus years and although it has excellent fuel economy, there are a few things that I don't like. First of all, it tends to vibrate a bit more than my current bike, Yamaha 135LC. Secondly, because it is air cooled, they have to limit the max RPM, so this bike will tend to struggle a bit above 90 km/h; at least for the model that I was using. I am not a speed junkie but when I needed the extra speed, I was quite disappointed. And of course, the dreaded Honda horn-signal switch swapped placement.

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah it's true - in stock form they are really only good for up to 90. Sure maybe you can reach 110 but you need downhill and wind behind you. The LC135 is a great bike!

      Not sure about fuel injection ones, but old Wave 125 engines that uses carburettor can still be bought, albeit I'm not sure how since I've never done this before.
