Some friends of mine up in Wisconsin tap their maples and make syrup and I was lucky enough to get a jar. Best syrup I've ever had. It had a slight smoky taste that I just loved. Good to see you had some four legged help! Great stuff guys!
Thank you Droid Little, it’s like a right of passage from winter to spring, l can’t not do it. And, yes Benjamin is always there to lend a helping paw.
I love the way you present your channel. Your gentle way is inspiring. Your knowledge of so many things is awesome and your carving is impeccable. Thanks for sharing your time and talent! KANSAS
Hey Jack, so good to hear from you. Sorry it took so long to respond , sapping season is my favorite but it’s also a very busy time of Year. Thank you for your support, it means everything!
Thanks Janson, they must be doing this up your way. Your channel has inspired me, l’m saving all the nicest bottles that show up here to create a stash in the woods for some future generation to discover. No junk, just nice corkers and specialty bottles.
Nice narration. It was informative, and the pacing was good. I think I still have a cordless drill like yours that I got from my grandfather, several decades ago.
What a magical place you live in♥️👌, my dad used to use alot of rhyming slang! he used to say "I'm going to take a brace and bit" when he went to the toilet 🤪 you can imagine what that means 🤣
Patent that cordless drill Benjamin was trying to helps umped the gun That's a lot of work had no idea No maples up here but I'll bet the syrup well be tasty great video HAGWeeknd CYA
Hey Ray, how are you doing out there? Any sign of spring? Benjamin is such a nut, always trying to get involved! Sugaring is kind of an obsession around here, once you’ve done it you can’t not do it. I got off to an early start and it froze back up again but I got 50 gals of sap to boil, we’ll have more on that soon. Take care, stay warm and give Duke a pat from us.
@@StockmanOriginal Thanks Brian he's a sweet cat done with youtube going over to TIKTOK their human over there one vide got 20K hits in a week the same vid here 26 TH-cam is old news and a joke in my mind take care Brian your a great person CYA
When you said drill, I was confused because I know my hubby has a number of those downstairs and I was sure he called them brace & bit. Thanks for confirming that I wasn't losing my memory quite yet 😀 I would love to take part in tapping maples some time. Unfortunately, they just don't grow in my part of the world...way too dry. Thanks for taking us through the process. Very interesting!
Hey Canuck Nancy, sorry about the confusion, that just me trying to be funny. Happy to be taking you along for the adventure, we’ll have more about the process soon. Where on this planet do you guys call home that’s so dry? I had imagined you being in Canada by your handle.
@@StockmanOriginal @Stockman Original We live on the Alberta prairie in the shade of the Rockies. Trees here are more like balsam poplar and aspen naturally. As you go west and north, you get more into the spruce/pine forests. There are a few ornamental maples that can be put into a garden, but nothing native thrives that needs any kind of moisture.

Last year I put a spigot into a light pole that is right on my property, and hung a bucket on it. Nobody questioned it.
