I am long since retired, but worked as a Gunsmith with Weatherby in 2001 under Greg, the then gun shop manager. I was trained by Arnie and John (God rest both their gentle souls) in Atascadero in the warranty/service department, and later became the lead warranty/service gunsmith in Paso Robles. Also lending a hand when called upon in the Custom department.
I was, and have always been proud to be a Weatherby employee. Good luck Adam and family, and God bless on the next 75-years... ^~^

I've been shooting a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in 340 for over 35 years now. And I mean shoot it too, I don't have any safe queens. This rifle has had countless rounds of my handloads through it over the years and still shoots 3/4" 3 shot groups at a 100 yards if I do my part. I have a crap ton of other rifles and among them all I still grab the old 340 when deer season opens here in KY.. And hell no it's not overkill. I do my part and the gun wastes no more meat than any other modern high powered rifle, and I don't have to track a wounded animal. At 65 I'm not as hard as I once was and I'm thinking about sending it back to Weatherby for a brake. I don't soak up the recoil as well on the bench as I used too. Here's the skinny , sorry for the long rant. When it comes to a rifle that will last you a lifetime and if you take care of it will still be a beautiful piece to pass down then buy once and CRY once and give Weatherby a try. You'll never be sorry.
Just ordered my rifle from Weatherby. Can't wait until it's in.

I just bought the model mark v accumark cal 338 lapua and have the safety not work 😡😡😡
I inquired about a Vanguard ll rifle chambered in 9.3x62 mauser cal and never got a response.
Jack, We currently are not completing custom work on the Vanguard rifle platform.

Weatherby why did you get rid of the lazerguard and lazermark im starting to feel like your forgetting your roots and that makes me very sad
