I never realized it before but I was at Dick Weber Lanes in June of 1984 as a very excited 13 year-old to actually see the place. It was closed for major renovations but they let us in to see since we traveled from Minnesota. All of the Sur-Pik ball returns and blue 3-D Magic Triangle masks must've come out right after we were there. It's all new (at the time) Spectrum stuff here. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Weber on several occasions and even bowling with him once. He was THE class of our sport!
@Bennett Jayson What if a International Hacker was to hack your accounts? Why brag about your devious exploits? This is a comment board for fans of Old School Bowling! This is not an adolescent prankster comment board!!!!!! Get a life!!!
Mr. Bowling is awesome. I can't thank you enough for these uploads. Man, this was Saturday afternoons at their finest. For some, it was Koufax, Namath and Dr. J. For me, it was Anthony, Roth and Holman. Gold is where you find it, as they say.
Yes the PBA tour was great to watch on Saturday afternoons!!!!!! We bowled in winter little leagues 9 a to 12p ……. Then it was lunch and get ready for the matches!!!! Great days as a youth………. and it was a good replacement for football 😊
Now that was a great final match, especially with what was on the line. Giljum bowled great for a 1st TV appearance. Thanks for posting this tournament.
Thank God and thank you for posting these great matches. I don't watch bowling any longer due to the drama, bad formats, behavior of bowlers, and commentators. I do watch the PBA50 games and the PWBA games on X frame when they put them on you tube.
I agree. I simply like to live back in the day when watching the PBA was so much better. Love everything about these shows. Even like to dress the same ways as the bowlers back then.
That was a great last game. Giljum bowled great for a 1st television appearance at the time. Ozio bowled great starting out with those strikes. I also miss the Pro Bowler's Tour, Wide World of Sports and of course Curt Gowdy and the American Sportsman show. Those were the days.
WOW! The wonderful emotional suuport system that Dick Weber had and desrvedly so. JUANITA was JUST ABSOLUTELY BEAMING with her pride for Dick. John, Rich & Paula hoping that Dick wins again after a great winning career. Pete even wore a suit out of total respect for his extremely loving father. And too Dicks doubles partner, Ray Bluth was in the audience. I was so happy to watch this telecast that I almost cried! Dick Weber is one of the most likeable human beings ever. Truly a role model for bowlers on the Professional Bowlers Tour. Most bowlers don't know that Pappas and Dick Weber like & respect each other so much because they ridicule each other with all of the "razzing" but it's just good natured ribbing. Great to see David Ozio in love again after losing his first wife! He practiced meticulously and just works on executing shots to go with his strong mental game. Thank you to Bo Burton for announcing so accurately and with both candid & sincerity. Burton has always been a huge asset to the tour and to ABC.
Commemorators curse when webber leaves the big 5, cant believe how he scored so well when you look at hes follow through but he was the most well know bowler ever and he seemed such a nice gent.
Dick Weber was 55 years old in this clip. PDW is only 5 years away from that age...hard to believe how time marches on. I have to believe that this was Dick's final appearance on the national tour for TV. Yes, he won doubles w/ Justin Hromek, and senior tour events, but I'm talking about the national tour.
I have great respect for Dick Weber and all that he accomplished but, there is one thing that drove me crazy about his style. I know that ole "golden arm" had a great swing but, he seemed to have an inconsistent slide. Hell, too often he would not post his shot at all.
I agree with you 1,000% because this is when bowling was bowling. Like the NFL, the Pro Bowlers Tour is now CRAP too & isn't worth watching anymore either.
I set the North Carolina state record for 4 games of 1060 bowling at George Pappas' Park Lanes in a singles league. The next year, in the same league a house bowler shoots 300, 279, 300, 279, for a new state record! That house bowler was George Pappas! 😂😂😂
When they actually rolled the ball!!! Today it's more about overturning the ball to improve carry. This has proven to give the bowlers higher scores, but if you could time travel, i bet the guys like Dick Weber( RIP) & Earl Anthony( RIP) would lay waste to todays bowlers on conditions where accuracy and a limited ammount of equipment, and " NO BALL REP. TELLING THEM TO SWITCH TO BALL#40 AND PLAY 15 TO 7 BOARD" I KNOW THIS CAN'T BE PROVEN, BUT TODAYS GAME IS A CARRY CONTEST!!! PDW SAID SO!! PDW SAID HE HITS THE POCKET JUST AS MUCH AS THE 2 HAND CRANKERS, BUT CAN'T CARRY THE CORNERS CONSISTENTLY. THE OLDER GENERATION BOWLERS WERE " BETTER" BY THE SIMPLE FACT OF HIGHER ACCURACY.
It would have been something if Dick Weber would have won this tournament. To win in your bowling center. That would have been 3 straight winners from St. Louis. Bo Burton in 1984 and Pete Weber in 1986.
Andrew Phillips YOU JERKOFF!! Why would you say who won when there are a lot of people who I’m sure don’t know the outcome!! You have to be a hick!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Ahhh! The infamous Bo Burton curse at 34:39. "He was born with this God given ability", then Weber gets a nasty split! I swear, if I was bowling in a tournament and Burton was the announcer, I would piss him off just before the match so he wouldn't talk about me.
Sad to see old man Weber get his Dick handed to him on tv on his own lanes. He didn't just lose, he got annihilated. Weber seemed like a good guy, though.

It was nice to see Dick Weber and David Ozio bowling so well.
now that my account allows longer than just 15 minutes....I can upload an entire show....it makes it sooo much eaiser! Glad you've enjoyed the action!
Hmmm, should Dick get to bowl on his own lanes? He could have an employee in the pin deck helping him out. hehehe!

Boy I loved my Angle bowling ball, changed my game, but then came the burgundy Hammer geez what a ball, still use it.
love watching these old PBA Shows. I was 1 year old when this aired on tv

that's exactly why I don't watch either!

It is great that you can put up the whole show now .Keep em coming love the older shows
Just hit the 10 board.

@@katanakeith1 yeah he definitely bowled by feel. All off balance at the line, herky jerky....lol. but he got it done.
The way bowling used to be
I agree with you 1,000% because this is when bowling was bowling. Like the NFL, the Pro Bowlers Tour is now CRAP too & isn't worth watching anymore either.
The first, second, and title matches were exciting and close
Andrew Phillips
Mark Roth and Earl Anthony have bowled some exciting matches
George N. Pappas and Ernie Schlegel have bowled some awesome matche
FANTASTIC stuff, sir. Before glue balls. With bowling legends. Applause!!

Chris Schenkel( RIP) A true Classy individual & Bo Burton is a True Bowling Scientist👍👍
Intestinal florida headshot😅😅😅Read the captioning!!! It was supposed to intestinal fortitude😂😂
David Ozio puts a tremendous amount of roll on the ball.

Interesting use of baroque music on the broadcast.
Didnt realize this was Ozios first win. i need to ask him bout it! Thanks for the upload!
Then you woke up!! 😂😂😂💩💩💩

when the lanes where actual wood.
I think they still are at this bowling alley.
@@NateCraven318 It closed in 2014.
Pete McCordic has his only title the 1988 Fresno open
Is that Bob Richards, the weather man from KSDK, I keep seeing in the background?
Actually the property was purchased by the city to make room for anew courthouse and alleviate crowding.
Pete “McCormick “ Mccordic you drunken lush Schenkel!! Guy was drunk on so many telecasts!!
I love the full shows, too. I remember the commercials and they make me laugh/cringe!
52:25 " The greatest spare shooter of all time. It's in the bag" Nobody knows like Bo.
The curse of Bo all over again!
Thats wasn't the 1st....or 49th time Bo has done that. It happened with eerie regularity
That baby shit color Angle ball was hideous.
Keep it up Douche!!
😂 Bo calls it again!
1:17:05 Bo refers to Ozio as Wunderlich.
I like the old commercials included, but Denorex doesn't do shit for dandruff.
I'll tell you what, it's easy to poo poo on Pete Weber but anyone can see from this video that he loves his dad in a serious way.
53:48 baby shit for oily lanes!!!
David ozio prevailed when Steve giljum left the 1 2 4 8 10 washout to win the angle open
Andrew Phillips YOU JERKOFF!! Why would you say who won when there are a lot of people who I’m sure don’t know the outcome!! You have to be a hick!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Andrew Phillips he’s an asshole
The Bo Burton curse!" Dicks the greatest spare shooter", and he misses the 10 pin!
Bo Voo Doo on that 10 pin . Dick Weber
Glue balls. LOL I hate resin. I love the chemistry of Bo and Chris. Never knew Ozio's wife died. That is horrible.
Polarcupcheck I have glue balls! Care to try them out!! 😂😂😂😂
I wonder what Bo would say about the Boy Sco..........................opps, I meant the Scouts BSA. So sad.
Just as the first match was getting underway I think Chris Schenkel mispronounced Pete McCordic’s last name. It sounded like he said, “McCormick.”
veggieoilerfan He did you IDIOT! You have way too much time on your hands!! You have NO LIFE!! 😂😂😂😂
He did.
If Giljum strikes does he win 10 titles and Ozio returns to welding? Possible life changing shot.
USA Citizen NOT!! IDIOT!! 😂😂😂😂
Dick weber lanes. A bowlmor amf casualty.
In a way I’m glad it closed. It would be a shame to slap the Bowlero name on Dick Webser’s bowling alley.
Actually the property was purchased by the city to make room for anew courthouse and alleviate crowding.
3:54, Pete McCormick. Come on Chris.lol.🤣os buda
wow never knew Ozio lost his first wife

Andrew Phillips do you can spoil the outcome?
I have it & it will cost you a lot.. you can’t afford it..

Dick and Pete remind me of Joe and Hunter.
You’re full of great insight douche bag!!
Schenkel was drunk on so many telecasts!! “13 year old McCormick” Have some more Booze 🥃 Schenkel!! 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡💩💩💩
Schenkel besides being a drunk got really weird when Brian Voss would make the telecast. The repeated "right out of central casting" was homo creepy.
