Man, these telecasts bring back so many memories for me.
Used to bowl in a junior league on Saturday mornings and when I got home would always watch the pros to try and improve my game.
I was 12 in 1987. Was using a Hammer and a Columbia 300 Yellow Dot lol.
Always loved Pete Weber, WRW, Parker Bohn and Marshall Holman

@Reality He did? Amazing he almost won a tournament last year! He must have tendons made of steel to last as long as he did! Bowling as much as these guys do is very hard on the tendons and wrists! Amazing longevity! Topped by only Tom Brady in sports!

The fact he is still competing at 60 is amazing!
Pete could bowl in any Era. That power combined with roll he definitely could've kept up with his dad in his prime.

@Jesse That was all for show. Pete is a really nice person in real life.
There was a reason he got the way he did:
Professional Bowling began dying as a sport when Earl Anthony retired. The TV ratings were crashing. The PBA asked Pete if he could save it. He said (quote):
"I can; but, you're going to let me do it my way."
That's why in the 90s; the crowds made noise the entire time, the bowlers trash talked each other, ect. It made it very entertaining for spectators. But it was all in the name of saving pro bowling

@Reality you’re dumb as fuck. Great bowlers are great bowlers. If you don’t think Belmonte could adjust to yesterday’s game or tomorrow’s game, you’re a real idiot. There’s a reason guys like PDW were great in the 80s, 90s, and into the 2010s with MUCH improved technology. If Web can go forward with the times, a great bowler in today’s game would be able to adjust to a plastic or urethane ball on shitty outdated oil patterns.
