I was about to comment that I was surprised he doesn't have a skidsteer to use instead of that big old hungry monster...then I read your comment and immediately changed my mind. You're completely correct. Because he can. 👍
I'm a retired Operating Engineer. I logged many hours in a 1980 '66. Awesome old machine. They were very reliable, and for a 40+ year old machine, yours looks to be in great shape. And it's fixed up with some very useful attachments. I'd call it a keeper ... until somebody offers you the right price of course. Love your channel. Old iron brings back lots of memories. Thanks
In my little truck shop, I built a big rubber tired cart that holds 4 1000 cca 12 volt batteries and a set of 50 foot jumper cables that I keep on tenders all the time. I got tired of always going through the hassle of finding jumpers, starting a cold pickup truck, and taking a chance of ruining an altenator or ecm. I save my self so much aggravation in the winter. Bill Hope you fellas keep up the great content.
Machine is doing great! Give her some love and install a heavy duty battery rated for the job, instead of using a car battery! Little repairs like that keep these work horses running forever!
Brings back some memories - we had an old bucket loader at work that was used for the odd projects, and in the winter it was used to clean some of the areas that our larger equipment couldn't get into. My parking lot was one of the last ones to be considered, so I got trained on the loader and used it to clean the area around my building, then when someone needed me to move snow elsewhere I would stop and go do that. I moved from it to one of our big twin turbo blowers, but I still remember the loader!
That's awesome But I do wonder this.. With all the equipment in the yard. Y'all don't have a piece of equipment to just plow snow? Y'all live in the snow country for gosh sakes...
Front end loaders are used for Snow plowing All the time in northern states. Many excavation companies use their machines in the winter to clear snow ❄️❄️. There isn't many other machines that can easily move snow like a front end loader. You'll hate yourself later if you sell it, trust me 😊. A fresh heavy duty battery would make the loader much more convenient to use. If you might be interested I have a older gas powered Starting unit for use on a Wrecker! It might be a handy tool around your place. I'd sell it cheap but you'd have to pay for shipping it as I live in northern MN!!! Loved the diesel Mahinras, wish I owned one 😊😊
You said you had nothing to plow snow with but you needed to plow to load trucks and fork lifts was getting stuck. Then say you was going to sell the loader. That's makes no sense what so ever. We a 2 loaders (966) and a (950) 2nd was our back up machine and set up in October for snow removal so trucks could keep working
I find some of your videos quite interesting; but often irritatating for small things that add up over time. Eg. Why are you always "gonna go ahead and attach the widget to the thingamagig" rather than simply "gonna attach the widget to the thingamagig". I mean you do "go" anywhere ahead behind of sideways, so why are you always gonna "go ahead" to do it? It may just be a turn of phrase, but when it is repeated ad nauseum in some attempt to make what your doing sound more ... I don't know what -- important, industrious, cleaver? . it just becomes irritating.
Keep the machine ... it seems to be doing great ... now the thing is, how to figure out how to actually put a real bucket on it instead of that jury rigged system you had.
Quiton maybe you need to build a start cart . Small gas engine one with a big azz 300 amp charger. And put 4 new batteries with 25 to 50 foot of heavy duty cables. And what fuel additives do you use ?😊
I like the videos so keep it. I only use jumper cables for charging. The clamps don’t carry enough amps because of poor contact. Ag pilots use golf carts to start their turbine engines. It saves the plane’s battery and has a higher voltage to spin faster. The planes have a heavy duty plug for charging. The golf cart is basically a battery on wheels and you can use it for other things like playing golf. A used cart might be cheap because the batteries are the main cost and you have batteries. Has Casey given you a I hate Casey LaDelle shirt yet.
You may ask - why use a 966d 2 plow snow? Answers
1. Why Not
2. Because he can and everyone else can’t

Keep it, and build a good set of forks for it so you can use it as an even bigger fork lift when needed...
Heck yea I say keep that mother she does great for snow removal and other things also
I would be keeping it until I got an offer that I couldn’t refuse, but putting some decent batteries on it would make life easier 👍🏻🏴

A block heater?,all yr equipent dhould be plugged in.Saves tremendously on engine damage.
You should buy a massive snow pusher for that loader
Yes
That's awesome
But I do wonder this..

Keep it to use around the shop.
Keep it
It’s a 60 here in SoCal and sunny. Lucky me. Thanks.

Make a snow blade for it and dedicate it to plowing in the winter. A blade like Wal-mart parking lot uses...lol
Nothing wrong with a little, I mean a lot, of overkill to move snow.
keeper what more do you need snow moved and fun had
You can buy a plow for one of you pickups plow in heat and comfort
You got that right, plus I always seemed to have a problem seeing where the edge of the big bucket was.
Keep the machine ... it seems to be doing great ...
now the thing is, how to figure out how to actually put a real bucket on it instead of that jury rigged system you had.
sell it, get a plow for one of your dozens of other service vehicles.
I would say keep it until you get a road grader, but keep it in the shop when you know rhe snow is coming ro help keep it warmer
Keep it until you have a different loader. Can’t beat old iron though
Why didn't you use the road grader?
It wasnt big enough(16 ft blade)lol
keep it it is a good machine
If I was you I would keep it
Great job. Thank you 😊
Still liking that Patrol!
Keep the ol girl!!!
keep the old girl
Keep it
Keep it 🎉
Lovely
Sell it.

I've plowed 23' in 3 months 1996 gmc south of steamboat springs
Where is your 24 volt jump box ???
I need one
Pretty cool .. I am looking forward to spring 🤣🤣 Thanks for the video
No such thing as overkill there, run the machines you have they work fine, great video, thumbs up
Devil's dust everywhere
keb
Keep it.
