Thanks for this great video. Can I ask you if you load the config file on to a client is there a way to expose the clients network as well like subnets on Tailscale.
Thanks again.
does this only connects between private networks? I mean what will be the public IP if we deploy it as a docker on home network?
"Brilliant" informations here ^^! Merci !
Cheers Mate!
You were fast! Hope you are well :)
HI, i successfully ran the wireguard with UI, thanks for the tutorial. However may i ask whether this wireguard VPN can set http custom header , so my firewall can whitelist the header or static ip, when check the log it will shows which header(user) access to the website
Nice Documentation, can you explain that for a Site to Site Setup
Hello. I'm going to use your video to set up a VPN Wireguard on my mini-pc with Debian, hosting Home Assistant. A future step will be connecting another location, so I hope to see a new video with explanations on Site-to-Site VPN. Thanks
Yeah site-to-site is a good topic, it's been suggested a few times now.
Another great video! However, sometimes I would like to know 'what is the objective' or 'what are you trying to solve? Never used Wireguard before, so a bit lost. tks Carlo
The main use case is if you’re away from home and you need to access your local home network and services on your home network you can do so remotely using WireGuard.
So for example, I have a raspberry pi I use as a file server which has some files I need to grab off of it, I can turn on my WireGuard VPN, access that server as if I was home and grab what I need
I have been trying to set up Wireguard on my Linux server. I followed all the steps on this video but I was not able to connect any devices to the Wireguard.
The router that I have (TP Link Archer A7) has Port triggering under the NAT forwarding which I set up a triggering port for Wireguard (51280), not sure if the difference between port triggering/forwarding would make a difference. I have so far followed every direction in the video, but can never get a VPN connection from my hotspot. I even tried setting up an OpenVPN that is already in the router but it still won't connect. I have also tried many tutorials that I have found online but to no avail. I know for sure that I am setting up the VPN service correctly for the most part.
I am not entirely sure if this is a problem due to a router that I have used for 5 years or it has to do something with my ISP or somehow my firewall is not set up properly. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Feel free to join the discord. It's known that some ISP block VPN access
Hello. I was having issues when running the "docker-compose up -d" command. I was getting an "Error while fetching server API version..." 'chunked' error. Turns out that I had docker-compose installed (old version). After removing it and installing docker-compose-v2, the "docker compose up -d" command worked. This explains why your video example works without a hyphen. Maybe your guide should be updated to recommend the v2 compose version and update the command?
Ah yeah! Docker compose is the correct way and that’s what I showed but you are correct the docs show the old version. I’ll get that changed
Fixed :)
how do traffic control(network bandwidth) for each client , because all user will sharing the same bandwidth
This is more of a router function that a VPN
Ahh nice! Struggled in the past will give it ago 😊
Yeah, figured I needed to replace the old video as it was causing more issues than what it was solving haha
@Techdox excellent 👌 watching your channel grow has been great.
Unrelated from your giveaway talk I keep telling myself should drive across to the raspberry pi shop in Cambridge to take a look about 90 mins journey.
Yeah, you really can't beat owning a Pi, they come in handy
@Techdox They do indeed, I have been watching a lot of videos on K3S. I might build a small high availability cluster with a few of them later in the year.
I think you need to add the word "Server" to the end of your title. I was wanting to install a client. Also. I didn't hear you mention which OS you are installing this on.
The client can simply be installed by going to the WireGuard website or the App Store on mobile devices. Pretty straight forward getting the client :)
An you do a Video that you Connect to a WireGuard Site-toSite Connection? That would e grat
You want a video covering WireGuard site to site? If there’s enough interest in that video sure
Way WAY over my head.
If you have not used Docker and or hosted a VPN before, then yeah this is a bit of a leap but still possible to follow along and do.
@@Techdox How I wish that were so!
