I having trouble with the actual plastic part that attached to the bottom of the oem shift boot. How did you remove those wires and then reattach them so easily. Also the top part of the oem shift boot. I got to the very end until I realized you didn't explain changing it out in detail 😓
Sorry for the late response. They are some plastic clips that are stapled with the OEM Shiftboot, you can use a small flat head screw driver and remove and once you install the new shiftboot do not use those clips, use hot glue gun and it will work as well as staples. I don’t know what year you car is, but is a 2020 and the clips were easy to take out. Be gentle as they are delicate plugs.
To remove the boot, if you touch the top of the boot you will have a collar that you can pull down, once that collar is pulled down you will find a pin that goes through the shift knob and into the shifter lever holding it, you pull it out and the rest is easy. Sorry for the late response
That interior trim around the gear stick is all scratched for my new corolla. It is so annoying. I wish there was a way to just replace those instead of whole housing. Would you recommend anyway to clean the scratches? Thx

@@gabrielvalentin9773 and how did you remove the plastic ring at the top of the boot that clicks onto the oem shift knob?

Tell me about it. You can use buffing compound and buff out the scratches and maybe add a layer of wax.
