      @ yea mine may have been defective, I’m curious to know, does yours have more than ~10 degrees of rudder movement after applying throttle? Make sure the prop spins before checking, that’s when the problem began to occur on mine. Before actually using the motor it was fine and moved maybe 60 degrees

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@calebrosenhauch4296 I always measure my control surface movement in manual mode or the least restrictive mode the gyro provides, In this case, 3D Mode.
      Yes, after throttle is applied as the gyro doesn't actuate until throttle is applied.
      I don't have much movement on the rudder, 6mm left and 6mm right, as I always measure in millimeters not degrees.
      Not as much as I would like, but it did provide decent control authority so that it flies well.
      I also setup my rudder and aileron linkage for maximum movement of those control surfaces.

    Thanks for a nice intro to this model which I have and it flies beautifully with the supplied Tx. There's a socket on the Rx board in the model which the manual says provides 3 volts for an external DSM Rx and I'd like to bind the model to my Spektrum DX7. I've got a few micro Rx but none of them work because they require a minimum of 3.7v and they just won't power on from the on board socket which I've measured provides a bare 3 volts. I wondered if you have tried binding to a separate Tx and if so how did it go?

      Hi James and Thank You!
      I've read that it uses the V911S Protocol and E119 Sub-Protocol.
      According to the Multi-Module page the following aircraft use this Protocol:
      Models: Eachine E119, JJRC W01-J3, XK A220 P-40, XK A800 R2, F959S R2, A160 R2, A280
      I would think that the TX would bind to any of those and it should be supported with a Multi_protocol TX.

    I recently got into RC planes & currently have one of these after starting off with a A220 400mm Trojan. This P51 dosen't seem to have the same 'cheap quality' the Trojan does. My P51 came with its motor plate glued in on a angle, a oval shaped tail wheel & the nose hatch release was too long & almost couldnt open the hatch. First flight needed full back stick till get her up, & had to keep it back to fly level. This plane really lacks tail control no matter what setting. I've added longer horns but still needs more throw. The battery plug on the ESC is Super tight, nearly yank the wires out when unplugging the battery. Im sure this caused my crash on my last flight as I swear I lost power. Would be a great little plane if you added prope fully adjustable radio gear or at least had more control over what the tail wants to do. 400mm Trojan is way better in that regard. I've since ordered a Arrows Bigfoot, so looking forward to flying that.

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I remember correctly, you'll have to connect the ailerons into the board before completely mounting the wing.
      You'll have to tuck in the wires while positioning the wing.
      There will be one port on the board with the ESC already connected.
      There are two other ports, one labeled SBUS or PPM and one labeled DSM.
      The other 3-pin port, not labeled SBUS or PPM or DSM, will be where you connect the ailerons.
      The pins are offset from center so they only go in one way without damaging the pins.
      That so you don't connect the pins in the wrong order.

    Are the esc and the reciver seperate or joined?

      The ESC is separate but I believe the voltage regulator is in the board not the ESC.

    Thanks for the video - looks really good - but way too expensive for me in the UK. The 'discounted' cost is £155 here.....I can get an xfly red hawk t7-a for less than that! Ok you get a cheap transmitter but that does not make it a good deal for me. There is a place for these models it's true - but not in my hanger! Look forward to seeing it fly though!

      Thanks Paul!
      I understand as sometimes the mini warbirds (750mm-800mm) are dirt cheap in the UK but not in the USA.
      I've had to pass on many of them.
      I'm really hoping to launch tomorrow morning if the weather forecast holds.
      See you in the Air!

      USA here I got one for $120 shipped but I have two cheap radios because I first ordered it with right hand radio and USA does left handed. Extra radio was cheap $20-30 but took a month to arriive. It was Ali-Express or Banggood. The Mini Warbirds get priced $80- $140 for me in USA. Watch for sales especially November to December

    It's a nice plane, but the electrics are rubbish. My one has a short on the connection to the esc, and the servo for the elevator stopped working on it's first flight causing it to crash. I think I have to replace servo board, total cost so far is nearly $300 for one flight.

      Sorry to hear about your issues with this plane.
      Usually, if there's a bad one they send it to me ;-)
      I have over 50 flights on mine without a single issue.
      I've had my share of bad ones though.
      Never fun.
